塗工するとともに直径を約20mm〜約50mmとさ
れたグラビアロールと、このグラビアロールの表
面から余剰塗工剤を塗工を施す前に拭取つて定量
の塗工剤を塗工部へ供給せしめるドクターブレー
ドとを有するグラビア塗工機において、前記グラ
ビアロールの前記ドクターブレードより回転方向
上流側の外周面と、塗工剤供給機構の内周面との
間に塗工剤を加圧してグラビアロールの彫刻部に
充填せしめる狭い塗工剤加圧供給路を形成し、こ
の塗工剤加圧供給路の最上流部近傍に供給される
塗工剤を一旦貯留してグラビアロールの軸方向に
均一流とさせる塗工剤貯留部を前記塗工剤加圧供
給路と直接連通するように配設したことを特徴と
するグラビア塗工機。 2 塗工剤加圧供給路は、グラビアロールの外周
面のほぼ下半周部全体に亘る長さに形成されてい
ることを特徴とする請求項第1項記載のグラビア
