The post-shaped items conventionally used for car stops are square prisms, but the molds used to cast them are split molds in which the square is divided into two by opposite sides.

This is because the left and right sides are parallel to the direction in which the wooden mold is pulled out when forming the mold.

This merely shows the possibility of cutting the mold by dividing the mold. In fact, a cylindrical piece can be cast without any pattern if the surfaces on both sides of the square column are patternless joint surfaces. However, since the split molds are solid, they become heavy when casting large products, and it is difficult to fit the molds together.

In charge of placing the first wooden mold 1 in the part corresponding to the bottom of the triangle among the three parts, which is a wooden mold for forming a mold to form a design that will become the outer surface of the cast product,
The second and third wooden shapes 2,
3, the first, second, and third wooden molds 1, 2, and 3 form a hollow wooden mold, and the second, third wooden molds 2, and 3 are placed against the pressure during filling with molding sand. 3
In order to support this, an intermediate wooden mold 4 having a substantially T-shaped cross section is combined. It has a central support 4a that fits together, and a substrate 4b for supporting the other ends of the second and third wooden molds from the inside to maintain a constant cross-sectional shape, and the base plate 4b and the first wooden mold 1 A measure is taken to provide positioning means at the contact portions of both types. In this application, the term "approximately uniform cross-sectional shape" refers to a shape that is based on a uniform cross-sectional shape, but has deformed portions at key points, for example, as shown in FIG. 7.

Since the mold can be cast using the following methods, the cutting die only needs to be considered in three directions, which simplifies the design of the wooden mold.

In other words, with the conventional U-shaped wooden mold, there was a restriction that it was not possible to implement a design with a direction or size that would get in the way when cutting the mold, but with the wooden mold assembly of the present invention, the first wooden mold 1 is Of course, the second wooden mold 2 and the third wooden mold 3 can be pulled out at right angles from the mold surfaces 1a, 2a, 3a formed on the casting sand 21, 22, and can be removed without parallel movement or diagonal displacement, which improves the design. There are no restrictions on the. Therefore, as shown in Figure 7,
A design D consisting of vertical stripes 31 parallel to the axial direction of the square column 30, horizontal stripes 32 perpendicular to the coaxial direction, diagonal stripes 33 that intersect diagonally, or a pattern 34 with no directionality at all is formed on the outer surface of the column. I can do it. In other words, it can be said that the intermediate wooden mold 4 is a member that secures a space for removing the second wooden mold 2 and the third wooden mold 3 from the mold surface in a direction perpendicular to the mold surface. According to the divided structure of the wooden mold in which the intermediate wooden mold 4 is interposed in this way, it is possible to form a mold surface with no design restrictions even on a square columnar shape, which has traditionally been the most common method. Similarly, any design can be applied to larger polygonal columnar or cylindrical objects.

The other mold 20 is formed. The molds 10 and 20 are separated in order to remove each of the wooden molds 1 to 4. First, when the first wooden mold 1 and the intermediate wooden mold 4 are removed, the second wooden mold 2 and the third wooden mold 3 have room to move at right angles from the mold surface, so the second wooden mold 2 and the third wooden mold 3 are removed. Wooden mold 3 to mold surface 2
It can be removed without affecting a and 3a in any way. Both molds 10 and 20 are now completed. Therefore, since the first to third wooden molds 1 to 3 are removed at right angles from the respective mold surfaces 1a to 3a, molds with a free and subtle design are formed on the bare sand of the mold surfaces.

There are no restrictions on patterns, etc., making it easier to design triangular or cylindrical wooden molds that were extremely difficult to implement with conventional wooden molds, and making it easy to assemble and disassemble the wooden molds.
There is no risk of damage to the mold, and since it is hollow, it is lightweight relative to its size and is easy to handle, providing remarkable practical effects.
