Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はシート状の樹脂の溶着・溶断に用いら
れる高周波ウエルダの改良に関し、特に誘電損の
小さい樹脂を溶着・溶断するのに適したものであ
る。
〔従来の技術〕
近年、樹脂の多機能化が要求されるのに対応し
て種々の物性を有するフイルムが市場に進出して
いる。従来、樹脂フイルムの溶着・溶断は主に高
周波ウエルダやヒートシーラーを用いて行なわれ
ている。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
従来の高周波ウエルダは、ポリ塩化ビニル等の
比較的誘電損の高い樹脂フイルムの溶着・溶断に
用いられているが、誘電損の低いポリエチレンや
ポリプロピレンの溶着・溶断を行なうことができ
なかつた。これに対して、ヒートシーラーによる
ポリエチレンやポリプロピレンのフイルム包装に
行なわれている。しかし、例えば架橋処理された
ポリエチレンやポリプロピレンの溶着・溶断は不
可能であつた。また、延伸処理されたフイルムを
ヒートシーラーで溶着しようとすると、熱収縮す
るため、包装等には使用できないという問題があ
つた。
本発明は上記問題点を解決するためになされた
ものであり、ポリエチレンやポリプロピレン、延
伸処理したフイルムでも溶着・溶断が可能な高周
波ウエルダを提供することを目的とする。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
本発明の高周波ウエルダは、1対の電極間にシ
ート状の樹脂をはさみ、高周波を印加して上記シ
ート状の樹脂を溶着・溶断する高周波ウエルダに
おいて、上記電極の加熱する手段を設けたことを
特徴とするものである。
なお、本発明において、電極を加熱する手段は
1対の電極のうち一方だけ又は両方の電極に設け
ることができるが、取付けの容易な上部電極側に
設けることが望ましい。
また、電極の温度は65〜110℃に設定すること
が望ましい。
〔作用〕
本発明の高周波ウエルダによれば、電極の加熱
する手段を設けたことにより、従来の同じ電圧を
印加し高周波の周波数が同一であつたとしても、
電極からの電子放射量を増大させることができ、
電流の増大により出力を増大させることができ
る。このため、誘電損の低いポリエチレンやポリ
プロピレン、あるいは延伸処理したフイルムでも
効果的に加熱することができ、従来の高周波ウエ
ルダやヒートシーラーでは不可能であつた溶着・
溶断が行なえるようになる。
本発明において、電極(金型)の温度として適
当な範囲は、65℃〜電極(金型)に樹脂が部分的
に融着して変形等が生じる直前の温度まである。
これは、電極の温度が65℃未満であると、電極に
印加するで電圧を高くしても、樹脂の溶着が困難
になるためである。なお、接着強度の観点から
は、電極の温度は80℃以上であることがより望ま
しい。また、電極の上限温度は、例えばポリエチ
レンの場合95℃、ポリプロピレンの場合は110℃
とすることが望ましい。
なお、上述したような電極からの電子線放射量
の増大は、電極に印加する電圧を高くすることに
よつても達成できる可能性もあると予想される。
しかし、電圧を高くすると電極からの放電が起る
ため、溶着・溶断が不可能になる。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の実施例を図面を参照して説明す
る。
第1図は本発明に係る高周波ウエルダの概略構
成図である。第1図において、高圧電源1にはチ
ヨークコイル2を直列に介して、発振器3及び上
部電極7と下部電極8とからなる1対の電極がそ
れぞれ並列に接続されている。上記発振器は、発
振用真空管4のアノードーカソード間に、コンデ
ンサ5及びチヨークコイル6の直列回路を接続し
たものである。上記下部電極8は作業台9に一体
的に固定されており、これらの上面に溶着・溶断
されるべきフイルム状の樹脂10が重ねられて載
置される。一方、上記上部電極7の下端には、金
型電極11が上記樹脂10と対向するように取付
けられている。更に、この金型電極11には抵抗
ヒータを有する加熱器12が取付けられている。
上記実施例において用いられた高圧電源1はト
ランスにより200Vの3相交流を昇圧して最大
12kVの交流電流電圧を生成するものである。ま
た、発振器3が発生する高周波の周波数は
27.12MHz近傍である。そして、出力は最大
6.0kwまで上昇させることできる。
実際に、上記高周波ウエルダを用い、下部電極
8上に厚み280μmのポリエチレンフイルム2枚
を載置し、上部電極7を押しつけポリエチレンフ
イルムの中央部を直線状に1mm幅で接着するとい
う実験を行なつた。この実験では、加熱器12に
より金型電極11の温度を変化させ、出力及び溶
着時間は3.2kw、4秒:4.1kw、5秒の2つの条
件にそれぞれ固定した。そして、接着された2枚
のポリエチレンシートの一端を上下に引張り、両
者が剥離したときの荷重を調べた。これらの結果
を第2図及び第3図に示す。
第2図及び第3図から明らかなように、金型電
極11の温度が60℃では出力が3.2kwでも、
4.1kwでも溶着ができなかつたが、65℃以上で接
着可能となり金型電極11の温度が高くなるほど
接着強度が向上している。ただし、金型電極11
の温度が95℃を越えると、樹脂が部分的に金型電
極11に融着し、フイルルの変形が生じた。な
お、出力の大きさにかかわらず、金型電極11の
温度と接着強度との関係はほぼ同様な傾向を示
す。ただし、出力が3.0kw未満になると、接着可
能な下限温度が高くなる傾向が認められたので、
出力は3.0kw以上に設定することが望ましい。
比較のために、金型電極11の加熱を行なわな
かつた以外は、上記実施例と同様にしてポリエチ
レンフイルムの溶着を行なおうとしたが、溶着で
きなかつた。
〔発明の効果〕
以上詳述したように本発明の高周波ウエルダに
よれば、ポリエチレンやポリプロピレン、延伸処
理したフイルムでも溶着・溶断が可能になる等工
業極めて顕著な効果を奏するものである。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 1対の電極間にシート状の樹脂をはさみ、高
    周波を印加して上記シート状の樹脂を溶着・溶断
    する高周波ウエルダにおいて、上記電極を加熱す
    る手段を設けたことを特徴とする高周波ウエル
    ダ。 2 電極の温度を65〜110℃とすることを特徴と
    する特許請求の範囲第1項記載の高周波ウエル
    ダ。
