By adjusting the nozzle opening degree, it is possible to control the hot water level to within ±5 mm of the target value, regardless of the drawing speed.

It is placed and fixed on the upper surface of the mold 1, and the magnetic sensor 3 is exposed at a predetermined distance L from the mold surface 5A. The mold cover 2 is provided with a notch 6 for installing the holder 4 therein. In the figure, 5 is molten steel, 7 is a tundish, and 8 is an immersion nozzle fixed to the tundish.

In the continuous casting method, which automatically controls the process, when casting different steel grades successively, a partition iron plate is inserted at the joint of the steel grades to prevent mixing of ingredients. After removal and insertion of the iron plate, the sensor must be installed at a predetermined position on the mold again. This work is carried out in a narrow space between the mold and the tundish, and the worker has to crawl into that narrow space, which is not only dangerous, but also requires quick and accurate work. The physical and mental burden was great.

率が低下するという問題点があつた。 Furthermore, when producing bloom slabs by simultaneously pouring metal into multiple molds from one tundish, it is necessary to insert steel plates at joints of different steel grades for the number of molds. Manual work peaks in processing work, etc.
For this reason, the timing for removing the magnetic sensor for mold level control may be brought forward, or the timing for installing the magnetic sensor after restarting the casting of the next molten steel may be delayed. There was a problem with the decline.

Since the detection end of the mold is made to look at a predetermined position above the mold, the detection end can be installed and retracted accurately and safely in a short time. Further, vertical movement of the mold due to oscillation is absorbed by a spring.

A suspension device 12 that can be expanded and contracted up and down is attached to a plurality of springs 13 in the center of the upper surface of the sensor holding plate 11.
The hanging device 12 is characterized in that a sliding member 14 that engages with and slides on a guide 15, which will be described later, is provided at the upper end of the hanging device 12. In the figure, 16A and 16B are long holes provided in the sensor holding plate 11, and 17A and 1
7B is a bolt and nut for fixing the detection ends 3A and 3B, 18 is a handle for extending and contracting the hanging device 12, and 1A and 1B are molds.

To measure the hot water level by looking into a predetermined position above the molds 1A and 1B, first engage the sliding member 14 according to the present invention with the guide 15 provided on the tundish side wall 7A located above the molds 1A and 1B. and push it into place. Next, operate the handle 18 to extend the hanging device 12 to extend the sensor holding plate 1.
Lower 1. This descent is caused by the sensor holding plate 11
The process ends when the sensor frames 19A and 19B provided on the lower surface of the mold come into contact with the upper surface of the mold. In this state, the detection end 3A is set on the mold 1A, and the detection end 3B is set above the mold 1B, making it possible to measure the hot water level. Fine adjustment of the left and right positions of the detection ends 3A and 3B is performed by using the long holes 16A and 16B and fixing them in predetermined positions with bolts and nuts 17A and 17B. The sensor holding plate 11 is molded 1A,
Although it vibrates up and down due to the oscillation of 1B, this vibration is absorbed by the spring 13.

Therefore, the detection end can be attached and detached in a short time, accurately, and safely. Therefore, even when casting different types of steel in succession, the time rate for automatic control of the metal level, which conventionally was about 70%, can be increased to about 95% with this invention, making it possible to improve production casting. It has remarkable effects on quality control of pieces, labor saving, and safety of work.
