However, in such a device, there is a risk that the wiper blade may stop midway due to a malfunction of the wiper device, or the wiper blade may be forcibly pushed back due to mischief. It is unforgivable that the view from outside is impeded by the blade, and when the window glass is opened, only the blade protrudes from the window sill, which becomes an obstruction. There are problems such as overload acting on the component device and the wiper arm bending.

Therefore, it has been proposed to provide an intermittent clutch in the power transmission path that can connect and disconnect power transmission, and to set the intermittent clutch in a power disconnected state so that the wiper arm can be independently forcibly moved to the stop position. However, if the reciprocating movement of the wiper arm by the wiper drive means is controlled, when the power is turned off and then the power is simply turned on, the reciprocating drive of the wiper drive means and the reciprocating movement of the wiper arm are There is a problem in that the timing is shifted and the official wiping operation is no longer performed thereafter. In order to avoid this, additional consideration is required, such as detecting the position of the wiper arm and controlling the intermittent clutch based on this detection, but if this is done, the number of parts will increase. Moreover, the mechanical and electrical structure becomes unnecessarily complicated, making it difficult to adopt.

[Means for solving the problem] In view of the above-mentioned circumstances, the present invention was devised for the purpose of providing a wiper blade protection device that can eliminate these drawbacks. A wiper that wipes the outer surface of a glass plate with a blade provided at the tip of a wiper arm that reciprocates between an upper reverse position and a lower stop position in response to a controlled driving force from a wiper drive means. In the device, in the power transmission path from the wiper drive means to the wiper arm,
A connecting support part is formed to connect and support the wiper arm, and the connecting support part is normally engaged in a power transmission state, but the engagement is released when an overload is applied to the blade side in the direction of the stop position. The invention is characterized in that it is provided with a protective clutch means that allows independent displacement of the wiper arm toward the stop position and engages and returns to the power transmission state based on movement of the wiper drive means toward the corresponding stop position. It is something.

9 is a drive motor, and the drive motor 9 is integrally attached to the inner plate 2d side.
A motor shaft (not shown) of the drive motor 9 projects forward, and is designed to rotate a pulley (not shown) inside the pulley case 10 in forward and reverse directions. The actuating wire 7 is wound around the front edge of the actuator 7 from the front side. Then, the drive motor 9 performs controlled forward and reverse driving in conjunction with turning on a wiper switch (not shown) to reciprocate the operating wire 7, thereby moving the wiper arm 3 approximately linearly in the vertical direction. The blade 5 wipes the glass plate surface by moving up and down.

The lower end (base end) of the wiper arm 3 is penetratingly supported by the connecting body 8 so as to be vertically slidable, and the wiper arm 3 can be moved up and down independently of the connecting body 8. Protective clutch means 11 are provided. That is, this protective clutch means 11 has a concave groove 8 formed in the connecting body 8.
A bullet 11a housed in a hole and a ball 11b that is pressed by the bullet 11a are provided. Approximately half of the body is inserted and engaged due to the force, and in this state, the connecting body 8 and the wiper arm 3 are integrated and in a normal power transmission state, and the actuator fixed to the connecting body 8 The above-mentioned reciprocating action of the wire 7 causes the wiper arm 3 to reciprocate up and down, thereby performing a wiping action. On the other hand, when a downward overload such as forcibly pushing down the blade 5 is forcibly applied to the wiper blade 3, the ball 11b
1a, the wiper arm 3 is disengaged by the bullet 11a, and the power transmission of the protective clutch means 11 is cut off, and the actuating wire 7 is Even though the blade 5 is stopped, the blade 5 descends together with the wiper arm 3 toward the stop position.
In this power-off state, when the drive motor 9 is driven and the connecting body 8 moves to the corresponding position of the wiper arm 3, the ball 11b receives the urging force of the bullet 11a and automatically returns to engagement with the groove 3a. After that, the power is turned on, and from then on, the official window wiping operation is performed.

In the embodiment of the present invention constructed as described above, the wiping of the glass plate surface of the door 2 is carried out by the drive motor 9.
This is achieved by the vertical and reciprocating movement of the blade 5 linked to the controlled forward and reverse drive of You can see it and ensure safety.

In this way, in the present invention, the door glass surface can be wiped off if necessary.
If the blade 5 stops midway or is forcibly lowered for some reason, the power transmission by the protective clutch means 11 of the wiper arm 3 is automatically cut off, and the wiper arm 3 is moved to the connecting body 8. Regardless of the position of , it will be independently displaced toward the stop position. As a result, it is reliably avoided that the blade 5 gets in the way and obstructs the view from the window, or that the glass plate 2b cannot be lowered, thereby effectively protecting these members. become.

Moreover, in this one, the protective clutch means 11
However, when the wiper arm 3 is independently forcibly moved to the stop position and the power is cut off, when the wiper drive means is driven and the connecting body 8 is moved to the corresponding stop position, the elastic force is activated accordingly. The ball 11b receiving the urging force automatically engages with the concave groove 3a and returns to the power transmission state, so that the relative position between the connecting body 8 and the wiper arm 3 does not shift, and henceforth. , the official wiping operation will continue without any problems.

It should be noted that the present invention is of course not limited to the above embodiment, and the protective clutch means may be formed between the coupling body and the base end of the wiper arm instead of being formed between the coupling body and the base end of the wiper arm as in the embodiment. It may be formed at the connection part with the operating wire, or it may be formed here by dividing the wiper arm.In short, the protective clutch may be formed in the power transmission path from the wiper drive means to the wiper arm when the blade is at the stop position. Any device that can be forcibly displaced is suitable.

[Operation and Effect] In short, the present invention is constructed as described above, and although the door glass surface can be wiped by the reciprocating action of the blade, the blade may If the blade stops midway through the wiping operation, or if the blade is forcibly pushed back to the stop position during the wiping operation, the protective clutch provided in the power transmission path will automatically engage due to the overload. When the wiper is released, the blade is forcibly displaced toward the stop position independently of the wiper drive means. Therefore, if the blade stops midway, it is sufficient to forcibly displace the blade to the stop position, and even if the blade is forcibly pushed back during the wiping operation, an excessive load will be applied to the power transmission path. As a result, damage to these components and devices can be avoided and effective protection can be achieved.

Furthermore, in this device, in order to return to a power-on state from a power-off state in which the wiper arm is forced to independently move toward a stop position, the wiper drive means is driven to a stop position corresponding to the independently moved position. If the wiper drive device is controlled and corresponds to the reciprocating movement of the wiper arm, then the wiper arm position will be detected automatically. Even if this configuration is not required, it is possible to automatically return to the power transmission state without shifting these timings, and from then on, normal wiping operation can be continued without any problems with a simple structure.
