The disk film of this type of circular film unit has a pre-exposed image area boundary, and accurate alignment of the metering notch and core with this boundary is essential for accurate positioning of the image area within the camera. important for. In the conventional method of punching out an annular disk film from a web and positioning each film one by one, attaching the core and printing the image area boundary, the disk film is inserted into the frame print section at high speed. It has been difficult to establish a highly productive process because it is difficult to accurately position the film and there is a risk of damaging the film surface.

In addition, an improvement plan to solve the above problem has been proposed in Publication of Patent Publication No. 57-501698, but according to this proposal, a ring attached to the central opening of the disk film is supplied to the ultrasonic horn. However, in such a structure, the ultrasonic horn has a suction function, which makes the structure of the horn complicated, and when welding the ring, the suction hole on the horn surface makes it difficult to attach the ring to the ring. There are drawbacks such as scratches and reduced welding performance.

In the present invention, an unexposed photographic film web is advanced along a path, and first a round hole is cut in the web to serve as the center hole of the disc film, and a pilot hole is cut as a reference for positioning in each process. ,
Second, frame printing of the image area boundary is performed at a relatively accurate position relative to the center hole using this pilot hole as a reference, and thirdly, the center hole and frame print positions are similarly determined using the pilot hole as a reference. A disk film is formed by cutting the outer periphery and metering notches at precise positions, and the disk film is concentrically transferred onto a nest on which a ring is placed beforehand and is waiting just below the outer periphery cutting position. Fourthly, the above object is achieved by supplying a core to the central opening of the disk film on the nest and concentrically joining the core and the ring by ultrasonic welding. It is.

According to the present invention, since each process is performed based on the pilot hole formed in the web,
The relative positions of the image area boundary, metering notch, and center opening are precisely aligned, and the structure of the ultrasonic horn is simple, so welding performance is not compromised and process reliability can be expected to be improved. be.

2 and 3 show a series of operations performed on an unexposed film web during the production of the film unit 1 shown in FIG. A web 8 is drawn off from the unexposed film roll 7 by a nip roll 9 and reaches a work station 11 via a dancer roll 10. This work station 11
In this step, a center hole 15 and a pilot hole 16 are respectively cut by the upper blade 12 for cutting the center hole and the upper blade 13 for cutting the pilot hole by the lower blade 14 by a normal punching operation. Subsequently, the web 8 reaches the next work station 17, where the web 8 is positioned by the pilot pin 18, and then the printer 19 is activated to print the frame print 6. Further, the web 8 advances and reaches the next work station 20,
After positioning the web 8 using the pilot pin 18 at this position, the metering notch 5 is fixed using the upper blade 21 and the lower blade 22 at positions relative to the respective positions of the center hole 15 and the frame print 6. The outer peripheral portion is cut at the same time. The web 8 is fed by engaging the pin 23a of the sprocket 23 with the pilot hole 16. Disc film 4 with punched outer periphery
is loaded on a nest 24 that moves intermittently below the lower blade 22. At this time, the rings 3 are loaded one by one on the nest 24 by a normal supply device such as a parts feeder, and the disk film 4 is loaded concentrically thereon. The nest 24 loaded with the disk film 4 is intermittently moved by an intermittent drive device (not shown), and the core 2 is moved downstream by the same means as the ring 3.
is loaded, and at the next position, the core and ring 3 are welded together by the ultrasonic horn 25 to form the film unit 1, which is transported by the nest 24 to the assembly machine.

In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which the frame printing 6 is performed after punching out the center hole 15, but the order may be reversed. Further, the order in which the rings 3 and the cores 2 are supplied to the nest 24 may be reversed, but in this case, it is necessary to feed the web 8 with its photosensitive surface facing in the opposite direction. Further, in this embodiment, the intermittent feeding of the web 8 has been explained using the sprocket 23, but it may be carried out by a means other than the sprocket, such as a nip roll. Furthermore, by using a push-back method as proposed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-160528, the disk film 4 is returned to the web 8 in the same position after the outer periphery is punched, and after the web 8 is sent further downstream, it is placed in the nest 24. The disk film 4 may be transferred thereon. In this case, the outer periphery punching and the transfer of the disk film are performed at separate stations, thereby simplifying the structure of the apparatus.

As explained in detail above, according to the present invention, the web 8 is positioned by the pilot hole 16 and the pilot pin 18 at each station, so the relative positions of the center hole 15, metering notch 5, and frame print 6 are adjusted. Since the alignment is accurate and can be performed at high speed, a process with high productivity can be constructed.
Furthermore, since the structure of the ultrasonic horn 25 is simplified, the reliability of the process is improved. Furthermore, after the outer periphery of the disk film 4 is processed, it is loaded onto the ring 3 waiting on the nest 24 located directly below the processing station 20, so that the delivery mechanism is simplified and a high-speed process can be constructed.
