ツカアームには機関の運転状態に応じて相互の連
結および連結解除を切換可能な油圧式連結切換機
構が設けられ、該油圧式連結切換機構に通じてロ
ツカシヤフト内に設けられる給油路と、油圧供給
源との間には、給油路に高油圧を供給する位置お
よび低油圧を供給する位置間で移動可能にしてス
プール弁体がハウジングに収納されて成る切換弁
が介設される内燃機関の動弁装置において、切換
弁は、低油圧供給位置側にばね付勢されるスプー
ル弁体に高油圧供給位置側への油圧力を作用させ
るべく該スプール弁体の一端面に臨んで作動油圧
室が形成されて成り、作動油圧室は、開閉制御弁
を介して油圧供給源に接続され、作動油圧室およ
び開閉制御弁間には、設定開弁圧以上の油圧で開
弁して開閉制御弁から作動油圧室への作動油流通
を許容するチエツク弁が介設されることを特徴と
