Traditionally, carbon monoxide (CO gas) has been produced using converter gas, etc. as a raw material, using the absorption liquid separation method (the Cosorb method in which the CO component in the converter gas is absorbed and recovered using a toluene solution of aluminum copper tetrachloride) and the PSA method. (a method in which CO is adsorbed and concentrated using an adsorbent such as zeolite). Devices related to these methods are generally installed in steel plants and the like equipped with converters, and are designed to recover CO gas in gaseous form from the raw material gas there. The recovered CO gas is then used as a raw material for acetic acid, higher alcohols, etc. However, recently, in addition to the raw materials for acetic acid and higher alcohols, C 1
It is considered to be the most important carbon source in chemistry, and is considered important as a raw material for the production of polycarbonate resin, for example. However, as mentioned above, CO gas production equipment is large-scale, so
Installing this equipment in a polycarbonate resin manufacturing plant requires a lot of expense. In addition, from CO gas production equipment installed at steel plants, etc.
Transporting CO gas is also problematic because CO gas is gaseous and takes up large volumes.

Therefore, as a result of repeated research to produce CO gas in liquid form instead of gaseous form, the inventor developed a device that produces CO gas in liquid form by applying the cryogenic liquefaction separation method. A patent application has already been filed (Japanese Patent Application No. 189401-1983). If such liquefied CO gas is directly supplied to the polycarbonate resin manufacturing factory, no large-scale equipment is required and the efficiency is extremely high.

However, when transporting and storing low-temperature liquefied CO gas to the above factories, the vaporized CO gas
Because the gas is highly toxic, the release of vaporized gas from storage devices such as lorries and storage tanks must be avoided. Generally, in an adiabatic storage device for liquefied gas, a safety valve is installed to prevent the device from being destroyed due to a rise in internal pressure due to evaporation of the internal liquefied gas, and when the pressure rises, internal vaporized gas is released from the safety valve to reduce the pressure inside the device. It is designed to be kept below a certain level. However, as mentioned earlier, CO gas is extremely toxic, so it cannot be released from the safety valve as is. Therefore, unless this problem is resolved,
It is impossible to supply and store the above-mentioned low-temperature liquefied CO gas.

That is, in this device, a vaporized CO gas take-off passage is extended from the upper space of a storage tank for low-temperature liquefied CO gas to communicate with the catalyst tower, and the catalyst tower and the oxidation reaction tower are communicated with each other through a transport pipe. In addition, a valve is provided that operates when the gas pressure in the storage tank exceeds a predetermined value, and an air transport means is provided to transport air for CO gas oxidation to the catalyst tower. Therefore, if the low-temperature liquefied CO gas in the storage tank becomes violently vaporized due to flames, extreme heat, etc., and the internal gas pressure rises abnormally and exceeds a predetermined value, the above valve will operate and the gas will be discharged from the storage tank. Vaporized CO gas is taken out and oxidized by reacting with air in the catalyst tower, and a trace amount of residual CO gas is further oxidized in the oxidation reaction tower and released into the atmosphere as harmless CO 2 gas. In other words, this device
Even if the gas pressure in the storage tank rises abnormally due to the vaporization of CO, the vaporized gas is not released from the safety valve like in conventional adiabatic storage devices for liquefied gas, but the highly toxic CO gas is guided to the catalyst tower. It is oxidized by air inside the chamber to become non-toxic CO 2 gas, and then the remaining CO
Gas (liquefied CO vaporized in the liquefied CO gas storage tank)
Remains of CO gas oxidized in the catalyst tower)
Because it is completely oxidized in an oxidation reaction tower, it is safe and does not cause the dangerous release of toxic gases.

The drawing shows one embodiment of this invention. In the figure, 1 is a storage tank with heat insulation properties,
Low-temperature liquefied CO gas 2 is stored inside. At the top of the storage tank 1, one end side of first, second, and third extraction pipes 3, 4, and 5 for extracting CO gas, which communicate with the upper space inside the storage tank 1, are opened. , a pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 are provided. Reference numeral 7 denotes an automatic pressure relief valve provided in the first extraction pipe 3. A control line 7a extends from the automatic pressure relief valve 7, as shown by a broken line, and is linked to the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6. When the gas pressure in the upper space of the storage tank 1 exceeds a predetermined value due to excessive vaporization of the low-temperature liquefied CO gas 2 in the storage tank 1, the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 is activated, and the pressure indicator 6 is automatically activated during the period of pressure increase. The pressure relief valve 7 is activated to release the CO gas in the storage tank 1.
Reference numeral 8 designates a check valve similarly provided in the first extraction pipe 3, which regulates the flow of CO gas flowing inside the first extraction pipe 3 in the direction of the arrow by the operation of the automatic pressure relief valve 7. Reference numeral 11 denotes a manual release valve provided in the third extraction pipe 5, which is similar to the automatic pressure release valve 7.
When the gas release is insufficient even with the storage tank 1, the release valve 11 is manually opened and closed to release the CO gas in the storage tank 1 through the third extraction pipe 5. Reference numeral 12 denotes a check valve provided in the third take-out pipe 5;
Regulates the flow of CO gas inside in the direction of the arrow.
Reference numeral 9 denotes a safety valve provided in the second extraction pipe 4, which includes the automatic pressure relief valve 7 and the manual release valve 11.
When the gas pressure in the storage tank 1 still rises due to the release from the storage tank 1, it is automatically activated to release a large amount of CO gas in the storage tank 1 into the second extraction pipe 4 to reduce the internal pressure. This prevents the storage tank 1 from being destroyed due to rising. 10 is the second extraction pipe 4
It is a check valve provided in the check valve 8, 12.
Similarly, the flow of CO gas flowing inside the second extraction pipe 4 is regulated in the direction of the arrow. The other end of the second extraction pipe 4 and the other end of the third extraction pipe 5 are:
They merge downstream of the check valves 10 and 12, respectively, and extend to form a take-out pipe 13. A first CO detector 14 is provided in the extraction pipe 13 and detects CO gas flowing inside the extraction pipe 13. First CO detector 14 in the extraction pipe 13
The end on the downstream side is connected to the first extraction pipe 3.
It merges with the other end to form a take-out pipe 15, the tip of which extends to the lower side of the catalyst tower 17. 16
is a drying tower through which a take-out pipe 15 passes, and this drying tower 16 is filled with a desiccant such as zeolite, which passes through a catalyst tower 17.
A mixture of CO 2 gas and air is allowed to pass through. This mixed gas is cooled and dried in the heat exchange portion 15a of the take-out pipe 15 by the low-temperature CO gas flowing inside the take-out pipe 15. The catalyst tower 17 has Pd on its upper side.
Alternatively, it has an oxidation catalyst 18 made of Pt and a heat exchanger 19 on the lower side, and the CO gas passing through the interior from the lower side to the upper side and the air transport pipe 21 from the air tank 20. The mixed gas with air sent to the lower side of the catalyst tower 17 is oxidized and released as a mixed gas of CO 2 gas and air. Reference numeral 22 denotes a solenoid valve provided in the air transport pipe 21, which is controlled to open and close by at least one of the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 and the first CO detector 14. A compressor 23 communicates with the air transport pipe 21, and like the solenoid valve 22, its operation is controlled by at least one of the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 and the CO detector 14. 38 is a pressure regulating valve for pressurized air, and 39 is a check valve similar to check valves 8, 10, and 12. Note that it is sufficient that either the air tank 20 or the compressor 23 is installed, and it is not necessary to install both. As mentioned above, the electromagnetic valve 22 (compressor 23) is operated under the control of one or both of the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 and the CO detector 14 to send pressurized air to the catalyst tower 17. It's summery. Reference numeral 24 denotes a circulation pipe that communicates the upper space of the catalyst tower 17 with the heat exchanger 19 provided at the lower side of the catalyst tower 17. A mixed gas of CO 2 gas produced by reacting with oxygen in the air fed by the compressor 23 and the remaining pressurized air flows in a pressurized state. This mixed gas contains reaction heat during the reaction (CO+1/2O 2 →CO 2 ) within the catalyst tower 17, and in the heat exchanger 19, the CO gas and After exchanging heat with pressurized air and lowering the temperature, the CO 2 is transported outside through the first CO 2 transport pipe 25 . Reference numeral 26 denotes a cooler provided in the first CO 2 transport pipe 25, which cools the mixed gas flowing into the first CO 2 transport pipe 25 to room temperature by heat exchange with the atmosphere. The mixed gas cooled to room temperature is dried in the drying tower 16 as described above by contacting a desiccant such as zeolite while being cooled by the CO gas flowing in the extraction pipe 15, and then dried in the second drying tower 16. The first via CO2 transport pipe 27
is sent to the oxidation reaction tower 28. The first oxidation reaction tower 28 is filled with an oxidizing agent 36 such as I 2 O 5 , and a trace amount of residual CO in the gas passing through the tower is
Oxidize the gas to CO2 gas. The above drying tower 16
removes moisture from the gas and prevents the oxidizer from deteriorating due to moisture. 29 is a release valve provided in the second CO 2 transport pipe 27, and 30 is also a second CO 2 transport pipe 27.
This is a second CO detector provided in the CO 2 transport pipe 27 and detects CO in the gas passing through the second CO 2 transport pipe 27. 31 is a second oxidation reaction tower that is connected to the first oxidation reaction tower 28 through a third CO 2 transport pipe 32, and a very small amount of residual material that has not been oxidized in the first oxidation reaction tower 28 is removed. Oxidizes CO gas. The second oxidation reaction tower 31 is filled with the same oxidizing agent 36 as the first oxidation reaction tower 28 at its lower side, but the upper side is filled with water that does not enter the oxidizing agent 36 from the outside. A desiccant 37 is filled to prevent this. 33 is a third CO detector provided in the third CO 2 transport pipe 32. 34 is discharged from the second oxidation reaction tower 31
A discharge pipe 35 for discharging a mixed gas of CO 2 gas and air to the outside is a check valve provided in the discharge pipe 34 and regulates the flow of gas in the discharge pipe 34 in the direction of the arrow. The system from the automatic pressure relief valve 7, the safety valve 9, the manual release valve 11 to the release valve 29 is all sealed to prevent CO gas from leaking.

At this time, the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6 operates the electromagnetic valve 22 (compressor 23), and the air in the air tank 20 is sent into the catalyst tower 17 via the air transport pipe 21. This CO gas and the above-mentioned feed air are mixed and heated in a heat exchanger 19 in the catalyst tower 17. Then, due to the catalytic action of the oxidation catalyst 18, the CO gas is oxidized with the oxygen in the supplied air, and the mixed gas of the CO gas and the supplied air is
The mixed gas of CO 2 gas and air is turned into a mixed gas and sent to the circulation pipe 24 . The gas fed into the circulation pipe 24 passes through the heat exchanger 19 in the catalyst tower 17 and is cooled, and then is further passed through the cooler 26 and the drying tower 1.
6, the CO gas is cooled and dried and sent to the first and second oxidation reaction towers 28 and 31, where the residual trace amount of CO gas is oxidized to gasify CO 2 and discharged together with air from the discharge pipe 34 to the outside. Also, take out pipe 3
If the gas pressure in the storage tank 1 cannot be prevented from rising only by releasing CO gas from the storage tank 1, the release valve 11 is manually opened and closed to release the CO gas from the extraction pipe 5. Since the discharge valve 11 is manually operated, the gas pressure in the storage tank 1 can be adjusted by repeatedly opening and closing it while checking the scale of the pressure indicator and alarm meter 6.
The CO gas released from the take-out pipe 5 passes through the take-out pipe 13, and then, like the above-mentioned CO gas,
It passes through the take-out pipe 15 and is oxidized in the catalyst tower 17 and the first and second oxidation reaction towers 28 and 31.
It is released to the outside together with the air as CO 2 gas.
Even with such gas release, if the gas pressure in the storage tank 1 rises and exceeds the permissible limit, the safety valve 9 is automatically activated and a large amount of CO2 is released.
Gas is released from inside the storage tank 1 to prevent destruction of the storage tank 1 due to increase in internal pressure. The above CO gas released from inside the storage tank 1 is sent to the catalyst tower 17 and the first and second oxidation reaction towers 28 and 31 via the take-out pipes 4, 13, 15, and after oxidation treatment is sent to the outside. Released as safe CO2 gas.

The liquefied carbon monoxide storage device of this invention is configured as described above, so that in the event of an abnormality such as a flame, the liquefied CO gas in the vaporized storage tank will
The pressure inside the storage tank increases abnormally,
The device of this invention does not directly release the vaporized liquefied CO gas into the atmosphere, but first introduces it to the catalyst tower and oxidizes the CO gas inside the catalyst tower to turn it into non-toxic CO 2 gas. And, if the catalyst tower
Even if the CO is not completely converted to CO 2 and a trace amount remains, the remaining trace amount of CO is oxidized in the oxidation reaction tower and turned into non-toxic CO 2 gas. Therefore, it is possible to completely avoid the extremely dangerous situation of releasing highly toxic CO gas directly into the atmosphere.
