FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing an example of a housing part in which a light emitting element or a light receiving element of a conventionally known optical transmitting/receiving module is mounted.
3 is a coupling hole with an optical fiber connector, and 3 is a cylindrical can-packaged light emitting element or light receiving element, which is fixed in the housing 1 by an adhesive 4. In order to stabilize the optical coupling between the light emitting and light receiving element 3 and the optical fiber, the light emitting and light receiving element 3 is usually subjected to a certain pressure by an optical connector, so a large amount of the adhesive 4 is generally used. For this reason, there was a drawback that it took a lot of time to assemble. Methods that do not use adhesive include, for example, using a screw structure as described in JP-A-59-75210 and JP-A-58-60715, or using a stop spring as described in JP-A-59-91761. A method to stop it has been proposed.

[Example] An example of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. 11 is an optical fiber connector coupling hole 12; a housing 13 is a light emitting element or a light receiving element; 14 is a glass window; 15 is an electric signal terminal;
16 is a cushion ring made of synthetic rubber, etc.
17 is a presser ring. Cushion ring 16
is made of a synthetic or natural elastic material as described above, and the retaining ring 17 is made of a metal or non-metallic material.
Insert until they meet and press-fit and fix. Although the cushion ring has a circular cross section in the embodiment, it may have a rectangular cross section or other cross-sectional shape or planar shape.As shown in FIG.
It may be one in which the plate-shaped elastic material 16a is integrated into a unit.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the package of the light emitting element or the light receiving element is placed on the back side of the package.
Since the presser ring is press-fitted and fixed through the cushion ring made of an elastic material, it is possible to prevent a large external force from being applied to the light receiving device and the glass window of the light receiving element. Furthermore, since elastic materials such as rubber can absorb relatively large dimensional changes, precise control of the press-fitting position of the presser ring is not required, making assembly extremely easy.
