However, in recent years, high-quality VTRs and digital VTRs
The development of systems that handle wider-band signals, such as A shift is being made to high coercivity media such as metal-deposited media. On the other hand, in a ferrite head, the maximum magnetic flux density is about 5,000 Gauss at most, and in order to efficiently reproduce short wavelength signals, it is necessary to have a narrow gap. In high coercive force media, the ferrite core at the tip of the gap becomes saturated and sufficient recording cannot be performed. Therefore, magnetic heads are being developed using metal materials such as sendust and amorphous magnetic alloys, which have a high maximum magnetic flux density. However, using bulk metal magnetic materials causes large high-frequency losses due to eddy currents. Various heads have been proposed that use a laminated film of a metal magnetic film and a nonmagnetic film that have low current loss.

Slanted slopes (8) (8) are formed. On the slopes (8) (8) of the first and second core members (1) (2) on the gap forming side, there are first ferromagnetic metal films (5) (5) made of Sendust etc. and S+Os etc. Laminated films (7) (7) are formed by alternately laminating non-magnetic films (6) (6), which cover the first and second magnetic core halves (3) (4'), respectively. Configure. The entire end surfaces (7a) (7a) on the gap forming side of the laminated films (7) (7) of the first and second magnetic core halves (3) (4') are made of a material such as Sin, which forms the gap. Track width. The actual track width of the magnetic gap (10) for recording and reproducing is:

It becomes smaller than the apparent track width T by (6).

あった。For example, the non-magnetic film (6) exposed on the end face (7a) (7a) on the gap forming side of the laminated film (7) (7)
When (6) has a film thickness of 0.2 μm and has four layers, the actual track width for recording and reproducing is the width of the end face (7a) (7a) on the gap forming side of the laminated film (7) (7), That is, from the apparent track width T, 0.2X4/s in6μ
m becomes smaller. Therefore, a problem arises in that the recording and reproducing efficiency decreases due to the substantial decrease in track width. Furthermore, when reproducing a magnetic medium recorded with the magnetic head having the above structure, if a track misalignment occurs because the portion of the magnetic medium corresponding to the nonmagnetic film (6) (6) is not completely magnetized, There was also the problem that the recording and reproducing efficiency further deteriorated.

The half body includes a laminated film consisting of a first ferromagnetic metal film and a nonmagnetic film, a second ferromagnetic metal film is formed on the end face of the laminated film on the gap forming side, and the second ferromagnetic metal film is A magnetic head is provided in which the magnetic head is butted against the other magnetic core half through a non-magnetic material that forms a magnetic gap.

Since the second ferromagnetic metal film is deposited on the end face, there is no non-magnetic film constituting the laminated film in the vicinity of the gap, and the actual track width becomes equal to the apparent track width.

。In the above magnetic head, the first ferromagnetic metal film (5) (5)
is a laminated film (
7) Since it is a magnetic head consisting of (7), high frequency loss due to eddy current can be reduced, and moreover, the above laminated film (7) (7)
Since the second ferromagnetic metal films (141) (142) are adhered to the end faces (7a) (7a) on the gap forming side, the second ferromagnetic metal films (141) (142) constitute the laminated films (7) (7) in the vicinity of the gap. There is no non-magnetic film (6) (6) and the magnetic gap (1
0) is the substantial track width of the second ferromagnetic metal film (141
