Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong the lifetime of a fluorescent lamp by furnishing a recess in the form of a shallow tray in a base member. and filling this recess with a getter material. CONSTITUTION:The base member 2 of a getter 1 for a fluorescent lamp, etc., is made from Ni, etc., wherein a recess 2a, for ex. in the form of a long circular shallow tray, is provided approx. in the center of the base member 2, and this recess 2a is filled with a getter material 3 consisting of ZrAl, etc. This enables constructing a getter 1 as small as 3/3 thru 1/2 of conventional arrangement, and this can be installed in the tube while confronting the filament of the lamp without generating a shadow which might present an obstacle for practical use. Thereby the action of the getter is activated with the radiation heat from the filament, and the lifetime of the lamp can be prolonged.

FIG. 3 shows a conventional getter 91 of this type.
For example, a gettering agent 93 such as ZrAl is attached to one surface of a flat plate-shaped base material 92 made of nickel, etc. With such a structure, it is possible to attach the required amount of gettering agent 93. Specifically, the area of the base material 92 in a fluorescent lamp of about 3 W is 6 m x 4 m - or 6 m
■×6■ A certain level of proficiency is required. FIG. 4 shows the mounting state of the getter 91 in the fluorescent lamp 10. In order to avoid the effective light emitting area from being reduced due to the area of the base material 92, the getter 91 is mounted on the stem 11 as shown in the figure. It is attached in a folded state to the anchor wire 12 provided in the fluorescent lamp 10, and is sealed inside the tube of the fluorescent lamp 10.

However, in the conventional getter 91 described above,
Basically, because it is larger than the fluorescent lamp 10, it must be folded and sealed inside the tube of the fluorescent lamp 10 as explained above. This folding causes the getter 91 to be separated from the filament 13 of the fluorescent lamp 10, so even if the fluorescent lamp 10 is lit, the getter 91
is kept in a low temperature state, which results in insufficient gettering effect, creating a problem in ensuring the intended lifespan of the fluorescent lamp 10, and it is an issue to solve this problem. It had become.

The present invention provides a getter for a lamp in which a getter agent is attached to a base material and is provided in a tube in order to remove impurity gas within the lamp. It is possible to reduce the size of the getter by providing a getter for a lamp, characterized in that a shallow dish-shaped recess is provided in the recess, and the recess is filled with the above-mentioned getter, and the recess is connected to the filament of the lamp as appropriate. The present invention solves the above-mentioned conventional problems by enabling a method for mounting a getter for a lamp, which is characterized in that the getter is held by anchor wires so as to face each other at a distance.

Next, the present invention will be explained in detail based on embodiments shown in the drawings. In order to facilitate understanding, parts that are the same as those in the conventional example will be described with the same reference numerals, and descriptions of some overlapping parts will be omitted. What is indicated by the reference numeral 1 in FIG. 1 is a getter according to the present invention, and this getter 1 is similar to the conventional example in that the base material 2 is made of a material such as nickel. For example, an oval-shaped recess 2a is provided approximately at the center of the base material 2.
is formed, and the recess 2a is filled with a gettering agent 3 made of ZrAl or the like. Further, by forming the recess 2a, the amount of mercury retained on the base material 2 can be more than sufficient, so in addition to the gettering agent 3, a mercury dispenser made of TiHg or the like can be placed in the recess 2a. 4 may be filled. Incidentally, when the mercury dispenser 4 is filled, when the getter 1 is sealed into the fluorescent lamp 10, the getter 1 is heated from outside the tube by high frequency or the like, so that mercury is released and the fluorescent lamp 10 is heated. The step of filling mercury into the lamp 10 can also be carried out using this getter. With the above configuration, even when the same amount of getter agent 3 as the conventional example is held and the mercury dispenser 4 is additionally filled, the getter 1 is about 6 × 2 × 2 × Formation is possible with an area of 173 to 1/2. FIG. 2 shows a method of mounting the getter 1 configured as described above on the fluorescent lamp 10, in which the getter 1 is mounted on the anchor provided on the stem 11 on the side where the recess 2a of the base material 2 is provided. By adjusting the anchor wire 12, the recess 2a is attached to the filament 13 by, for example, spot welding.
When the filament 13 is lit, the temperature of the getter 1 rises due to the radiant heat from the filament 13, and the getter 1 absorbs oxygen more actively, resulting in an effective life extension effect. will be obtained. Here, the getter 1 is a conventional one according to the present invention.
Since the size is reduced to 1/3 to 1/2, for example, it can be placed on the back side in the direction of illumination without causing any practical problems.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a shallow dish-shaped recess is provided in the base material, and the getter is filled in the recess to create a getter for a lamp, which is 1/3 to 1/3 that of the conventional example. /2
It has become possible to downsize the getter to a certain extent, and it can be placed in the tube facing the filament of the lamp without creating a shadow that would be a hindrance to practical use. This has an excellent effect on extending the life of lamps such as fluorescent lamps. Furthermore, since the amount of getter that can be held by the four parts has been sufficiently increased, it is also possible to hold a mercury dispenser in this recessed part, which has an excellent effect on simplifying the production process of fluorescent lamps. becomes.
