Generally, DC circuits use capacitors that store electric charge. The charge stored in this capacitor is then gradually naturally discharged via the internal resistance of the circuit. However, for example, when inspecting and servicing electrical equipment equipped with high-voltage, large-capacity capacitors, before starting this work, the charge in the capacitor must be discharged to prevent electric shock, but the internal resistance of the circuit must be discharged. There was a problem in that the spontaneous discharge through the battery required a long time.

A capacitor discharging device has been proposed which is provided with a firing diode that lights up via a transistor circuit when the capacitor is charged. As a result, the charge stored in the capacitor is discharged via the discharge resistor,
When the voltage across the capacitor drops, the light-emitting diode turns off. Therefore, inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment can be started safely.

By the way, in the case of the above-mentioned conventional capacitor discharge device, if the power to the capacitor is turned on while the capacitor discharge device is connected, the discharge resistance of the capacitor discharge device may be burnt out or destroyed due to abnormal heat generation. Therefore, there was a problem that it was dangerous. Furthermore, since a transistor circuit is used, there is a problem that the capacitor discharge device is somewhat bulky.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, the voltage acting on the discharge resistor can be measured by connecting the measuring bar to the voltmeter. As the capacitor continues to discharge, the voltage measurement measured by the voltmeter will decrease, so after confirming this decrease in the voltage measurement,
Remove the clip from the capacitor terminal. In the unlikely event that
If the power to the capacitor is turned on without removing the clip from the capacitor terminal, the voltmeter will detect that an abnormal load is being applied to the discharge resistor, and the power to the capacitor may be immediately shut off. This can prevent burnout and destruction of the discharge resistor.
