The height of the elevating frame 6 is adjusted by expanding and contracting, and the distance between the upper roller 8 and the lower roller 9 is maintained at about the thickness of the metal plate 10. Then, the motor 12 is rotated to drive the pump 13 to suck in and pressurize the cooling water, and supply the cooling water to the main header 17 through the valve 14, filter 15, and pipe 16.
When the gate valves 18, 19, 20, 21 are opened, the cooling water flows through the high pressure No. 1 nozzles 26, 29 and the high pressure No. 2 nozzle 4.
5, 57, low pressure No. 1 nozzles 46, 58, and low pressure No. 2 nozzles 47, 59 will inject. The metal plate 10 is cooled by the cooling water jetted from each of these nozzles.

This is to stabilize the Since the nozzles after the high-pressure No. 2 nozzles 45 and 57 are not required to have a cooling start line, they can spray in any direction, and in the device shown in FIG. 1, they spray at right angles to the metal plate 10.

5, 57, low-pressure No. 1 nozzles 46, 58, and low-pressure No. 2 nozzles 47, 59, as shown in FIG. 2 (only 26, 45 are shown in FIG. 2). The cooling water is ejected in the width direction of the metal plate 10. The width of the metal plate 10 varies from 1.5 to 5 m, but the jet width of the cooling water does not change, so when cooling a narrow metal plate 10, the width of the metal plate 10 is Cooling water injected into areas where there is no cooling water is air-injected and does not contribute to cooling. To compensate for this, a variable spray width nozzle that can change the spray width may be used.

となる。 FIG. 2 shows the flow direction of the cooling water as seen from above the metal plate 10, and it can be seen that the water in the center is divided into left and right sides and falls from both edges of the metal plate 10. When the cooling water flows in this way, the degree of cooling of the upper surface of the metal plate 10 is stronger at both edges than at the center.
The cooling rate at the center and both edges is different, causing deformation. Moreover, the amount of cooling water that does not hit the metal plate 10 becomes a loss.

Cooled by injected cooling water. The high pressure No. 1 nozzles 26 and 29 are similar to the conventional device explained in FIGS. 1 and 2.
Cooling water is ejected obliquely in the direction of transport of the metal plate 10 to ensure a cooling start line, and the metal plate 10 is first cooled with this cooling water, and then the cooling water in the upper cover 60 and lower cover 61 is cooled. The initial and intermediate stages of cooling are completed, and at least the surface is sufficiently cooled. The residual heat in the center of the metal plate 10 is at the following low pressure 1
No. 46, 58, low pressure nozzle No. 2 47, 59
Since the cooling water is ejected from the cooling water, uneven cooling in the width direction as in the conventional case does not occur.

Alternatively, the injection of cooling water from the low-pressure No. 1 nozzles 46, 58 and the low-pressure No. 2 nozzles 47, 59 can be stopped to prevent wasteful consumption of the cooling water. Further, when the metal plate 10 is transferred at high speed, an upper cover 60 and a lower cover 61 may be provided at the positions of the low-pressure No. 1 nozzles 46 and 58. Further, the number of nozzles contained in the upper cover 60 and the lower cover 61 may be four or more if the transfer speed of the metal plate 10 is high, or none if the transfer speed is small, in addition to the two nozzles on the upper and lower sides of this embodiment.

The upper and lower surfaces of the metal plate can be cooled uniformly to obtain a flat plate, and the amount of cooling water can be changed according to the dimensions and shape of the metal plate, improving cooling efficiency and reducing wasted cooling water. Consumption can be prevented.

置。1 A plurality of nozzles are arranged above and below a running high-temperature metal plate and inject cooling water onto the upper and lower surfaces of the metal plate, respectively, and a nozzle arranged above the metal plate. Therefore, in the longitudinal middle part of the area where the cooling water is injected, the cooling water is sprayed by an upper cover that stores the cooling water so as to be in contact with the upper surface of the metal plate, and a nozzle disposed below the metal plate. a lower cover for storing cooling water so as to be in contact with the lower surface of the metal plate in a longitudinally intermediate portion of the area where the water is sprayed; a pair of upper and lower nozzles that are maintained in an angular range of 10 to 30 degrees with respect to the horizontal direction, and that spray jets toward the inside of the cover at the upstream and downstream edges of the upper cover and the lower cover; A metal plate cooling device characterized by having a nozzle.
