In an on-demand type ink jet head, if air bubbles enter the pressure chamber or the vicinity thereof, ink cannot be ejected. Furthermore, if the negative pressure generated by ink jetting causes cavitation and expels the air dissolved in the ink, jetting becomes impossible.

Usually, in printers, the ink cartridge is laid out so that it is placed on the left side or at the rear of the printer because the printing position is placed on the front side. In the printer we designed, it is placed at the rear left,
The length of the stainless steel pipe was about 500 mm, the plastic tube of the movable part was about 350 mm, and the stainless steel pipe was fixed on the base frame of the printer by the bent part 10 of the frame.

Figure 2 shows the amount of N dissolved in the ink in the ink cartridge and the time it was left to stand after a cartridge holding ink with a degassed N2 amount = 3 ppm was inserted into the needle of a stainless steel pipe with an inner diameter of 1.5 mm. These are the experimental results at room temperature, plotting gas chromatography measurement values with the length L of the stainless steel pipe as a parameter. In other words, air permeates through the plastic tube 8 and dissolves in the ink, which then diffuses through the stainless steel pipe, thereby increasing the amount of N2 in the ink in the cartridge.

According to this embodiment, the ink in the cartridge can be used without any problem even if it is left unused for about two months. 2 months is based on the survey results that show that the majority of business users replace ink cartridges within 2 months, and the fact that it is extremely rare for the ink cartridges to be left unused for more than 2 months. It is considered as a guideline. Moreover, viscosity increase is not a problem at all. As another result, from the needle part 9 to the filter 6
Since this is a stainless steel pipe that is integrated with all parts, the embodiment shown in FIG. Such a joint part would have a step and air bubbles would remain there, but by integrating it, we were able to solve that problem.

4 and 5 show other embodiments of the supply pipe of the present invention. The ink supply pipe has an inner diameter of approximately 1 to 2 mm, from the viewpoint of the ability to supply ink to the head, and to ensure the flow rate during purging, where ink is forced to flow using a pump or other means to remove air bubbles, etc.
An outer diameter of 1.3 to 2.3 mm would be appropriate. However, when inserting the needle into the ink cartridge, if the outer diameter of the needle is large, the insertion load is large, and the rubber of the ink cartridge is easily scraped off to create rubber debris. If the insertion part rubber is made wider, There are problems such as difficulty in maintaining the deaerated state of the ink. Therefore, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, drawing is performed on stainless steel pipes in one or two stages. For example, the outer diameter of the pipe is 2.2 mm, and the needle part has an outer diameter of 1 mm.
Below, the length will be approximately 30mm.

In other words, by making the needle thinner, the problems of the insertion load and maintaining the degassing state mentioned above can be improved.
In addition, although the stainless steel pipe must be long to maintain the degassing state, by making it thicker except for the needle, the resistance in the long flow path is lowered, and the strength is increased, making it easier to assemble and reduce vibration. It has improved impact resistance, etc.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a stainless steel pipe is used as the ink supply tube, and one end of the pipe is a needle to be inserted into the ink cartridge, which eliminates the need for a joint between the needle and the tube. It is possible to suppress an increase in the amount of dissolved air in the ink in the tube, and to maintain the amount of air in the ink cartridge at a level that is approximately within the limit even if the ink cartridge is left unused for a long period of time.

In addition, according to the present invention, the stainless steel pipe section has good ink resistance, is safe against ink leakage due to scratches, is easy to assemble, does not evaporate, has good ink wetting properties and does not leave air bubbles on the wall surface.
