Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 滑り層を有するピストン。 【構成】 軽金属を基材とするピストン上の滑り層が硬
化樹脂中で結合されたグラファイトから成る。 【効果】 従来の製造法よりも環境調和的かつ経済的に
製造され、従来得られたピストンの滑り時間を少なくと
も下回らない滑り時間が得られる。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、ピストン及びシリンダ
ーの基材が軽金属でありかつピストンが基材上に施され
た耐久性滑り層を有している、内燃機関のピストン−シ
リンダー装置に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】このような装置では、ピストンは滑り層
を有していなければならない、それというのも軽金属−
軽金属、特にアルミニウム−アルミニウムという材料結
合は不可能だからである。従ってこのような装置の場
合、ピストンは他の金属で被覆される。このような被覆
は電気メッキにより行われ、特に鉄層、ニッケル層又は
クロム層が使用される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は、前記の従来
技術から出発して、特に前記の電気メッキ的被覆方法と
比べてより環境調和的にかつ経済的に製造されうる別種
の層をピストンに施すという課題を取扱う。

【課題を解決するための手段】前記課題の解決は、滑り
層が硬化樹脂中で結合されたグラファイトから成る点に
ある。
【0005】好ましくは滑り層は10〜25μmの厚さ
を有する。またグラファイトは1〜10μmの粒子であ
る。グラファイトの割合は3〜60重量%である。樹脂
中の結合剤は硬化性ポリイミドである。滑り層の硬化温
度は150〜210℃であり、硬化は10〜30分間行
われる。
【0006】本発明による滑り層を用いると、少なくと
も、冒頭記載の他の被覆層を用いて従来得られた滑り時
間を下回らない滑り時間が得られることが判明した。
【0007】本発明によるグラファイト層は、極めて簡
単にかつ殆ど損失なしに塗布することができる。塗布方
法としては、特に、グラファイト層の塗布のためにもす
でに公知のスクリーン印刷法が好適である。

【実施例】本発明の実施例を次に記載する。
【0009】アルミニウム製ピストンのシャフト上に、
結合剤としての硬化性ポリイミド中に結合されたグラフ
ァイトを20μmの厚さでスクリーン印刷法により塗布
する。硬化された層中のグラファイト含分は約40%で
ある。スクリーン印刷法で層を作るために塗布される材
料中には、例えばN−メチル−ピロリドン(NMP)であ
ってもよい溶剤が存在する。塗布すべき層出発材料中の
溶剤の割合は約50重量%である。層中で結合されたグ
ラファイトの粒度は1〜10μmである。
【0010】スクリーン印刷法で塗布した層を210℃
で約15分間硬化する。
【0011】ピストンシャフトの他に、ピストンリング
みぞ及び/又はトップランドの部分も全部又は部分的に
本発明により被覆されていてもよい。

Claims (6)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 ピストン及びシリンダーの基材が軽金属
    でありかつピストンが基材上に施された耐久性滑り層を
    有している、内燃機関のピストン−シリンダー装置にお
    いて、滑り層が硬化樹脂中で結合されたグラファイトか
    ら成ることを特徴とする内燃機関のピストン−シリンダ
    ー装置。
  2. 【請求項2】 滑り層が10〜25μmの厚さを有す
    る、請求項1記載の装置。
  3. 【請求項3】 グラファイト粒子が1〜10μmの粒度
    を有する、請求項1又は2記載の装置。
  4. 【請求項4】 グラファイトの割合が3〜60重量%で
    ある、請求項1から請求項3までのいずれか1項記載の
    装置。
  5. 【請求項5】 結合剤が硬化性ポリイミドである、請求
    項1から請求項4までのいずれか1項記載の装置。
  6. 【請求項6】 滑り層の硬化温度が150〜210℃で
    あり、硬化が10〜30分間行われる、請求項1から請
    求項5までのいずれか1項記載の装置。
