Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an image pickup apparatus, and more particularly to an image pickup apparatus for setting an optimum image pickup condition in accordance with the characteristics of an external strobe to be attached. [0002] When a dark subject is imaged, a built-in strobe or an external strobe is used in order to obtain a video signal of appropriate brightness. FIG. 15 shows an example of the configuration of a conventional image pickup apparatus equipped with an external strobe. In FIG. 15, the subject image is the lens 301 of the imaging device main body 300,
An image is formed on a CCD (image pickup device) 304 via a shutter diaphragm mechanism 302 and a half mirror 303 to obtain an electric signal. The imaging process circuit 305 performs predetermined signal processing including known Y / C separation processing on the output signal from the CCD 304, and outputs a luminance (Y) signal and a color (C) signal to the modulator 306. The signal modulated by the modulator 306 is amplified by the recording amplifier 307, and then the recording head 3
It is written in the recording medium 309 via 08. The rotation of the recording medium 309 is controlled by the motor drive circuit 314 which is controlled by the system controller 315.
The lens driving mechanism 311 is a system controller 315.
The focusing operation is performed by adjusting the lens position. The optical information separated by the half mirror 303 is input to the photometric sensor 310, and the obtained photometric information is sent to the system controller 315. The CCD drive circuit 312 is controlled by the system controller 315, and gives an operation reference timing signal to the CCD 304 and the imaging process circuit 305. The signal generator (SG) 313 generates a reference signal for the operation of this apparatus, and includes an image pickup process circuit 305 and a CCD drive circuit 31.
2, motor drive circuit 314, system controller 31
A reference signal is supplied to 5 and the like. Control switch 316
Is a switch for giving a shooting trigger signal and setting an operating condition (shutter speed) of the image pickup apparatus. The information is given to the system controller 315. The external strobe light-emitting device 400 is used when the amount of light is insufficient and a video signal of a sufficient brightness level cannot be obtained even after a long exposure or a slow shutter speed. The external strobe light emitting device 400 includes a battery 401.
The main capacitor built in the light emitting circuit 402 is charged by the power source from, and when emitting light, the main capacitor is discharged to cause the xenon tube 403 to emit light. The emitted light from the xenon tube 403 and the reflected light from the strobe shade 404 pass through the diffusion plate 405 and travel to the outside. By the way, the spectral characteristic of the light emitted from the strobe device is determined depending on both the characteristic of the xenon tube and the optical characteristic of the diffusion plate. Therefore, if the spectral characteristics of the emitted light are different, it is necessary to adjust the processing system in order to obtain optimum characteristics such as white balance of the imaging system. Therefore, conventionally, in the case of a built-in strobe, the design of the image pickup system is optimized in accordance with its characteristics to obtain a desired recorded image. Further, when an external strobe light emitting device is attached, a sensor for receiving strobe light emission and determining its optical characteristic is provided on the image pickup device side, and the image pickup system characteristic is changed and adapted according to the sensor output. The sensor directly detects, for example, a state related to the performance of a photometric sensor for detecting the exposure amount in real time. At this time, a method is also adopted in which the command signal given to the external strobe light emitting device is controlled by the output of the photometric sensor to adapt. As described above, in the conventional image pickup apparatus, when the built-in strobe is used, the emitted light from the strobe and the characteristics of the image pickup system can be uniformly adjusted. it can. However, in the external stroboscopic imaging system, a difference in performance between the external stroboscopic light-emitting devices (optical characteristic difference between the xenon tube and the diffusing plate, etc.) causes a difference in recorded images obtained by the imaging system. An image with constant characteristics cannot be obtained. Also, in the system that compensates for the performance difference by the sensor output provided on the imaging device side,
Therefore, there is a problem that the number of parts required increases and the cost increases. Further, when a sensor is used, there is a problem that the control method is restricted and the degree of freedom in design is reduced. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an image pickup apparatus capable of setting the image pickup system characteristics that match the characteristics of each external strobe to be attached. In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the image pickup apparatus according to the present invention is provided with a strobe mounting portion to which an external strobe can be attached and performance information of the attached external strobe. An information input unit and an image pickup signal processing unit that performs predetermined signal processing based on the input performance information are configured. According to the present invention, the information relating to the performance that affects the image quality of the image of the external strobe is transmitted to the main body of the image pickup section, the condition of the image pickup processing system is optimally set based on this information, and the optimum image pickup state is set. As a result, even if there is a performance difference between the external strobes, the recording image quality is kept constant, and it is possible to always record the image in the best state. The present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a configuration block diagram showing an embodiment of an image pickup apparatus according to the present invention. The image pickup apparatus main body 100 includes a lens 101, a diaphragm mechanism 102, and a CCD 1 which are the same as conventional ones.
03, the subject image is converted into an electric signal. CCD 1
When the luminance level of the input image signal is low, the electric signal from 03 is level-adjusted by the gain control unit 104, and then separated into the Y signal and the C signal by the imaging process circuit 105 and output. The Y signal and the C signal are modulated by the modulation circuit 106, amplified by the recording amplifier 107, and then
It is recorded on the magnetic tape 108 that is being rotated by the motor drive circuit 114. The lens drive circuit 109 is
Under the control of the system controller (microcomputer) 115, the position of the lens 101 is controlled to move and the focusing operation is performed. The CCD drive circuit 111 is similarly controlled by the system controller 115, and the CCD 103
And a control signal to the imaging process circuit 105. The signal generation circuit 112 supplies an operation reference signal to the imaging process circuit 105, the CCD drive circuit 111, and the motor drive circuit 114. The level detection circuit 113 performs area division and integration processing on the signal from the CCD 103, detects level information, and sends the detected level information to the system controller 115 as photometric information. A built-in strobe light emitting portion is installed in the image pickup apparatus main body 100, and the changeover switch 122 is changed over by a main condenser changeover signal sent from the system controller 115 when the strobe is used, and the main condenser 121 is changed.
Is connected to the discharge circuit 123 to cause the xenon tube 125 to emit light. The light emitted from the xenon tube 125 is the flash 1
The light is reflected at 26 and emitted through the diffusion plate 127. When the flash is not on, the changeover switch 1
Reference numeral 22 connects the main capacitor 121 to the charging circuit 124 to perform the charging operation using the power supply circuit 120. The main capacitor 121 is connected to the resistor R1 by the changeover switch 122.
The voltage determined by the voltage dividing resistance ratio obtained from the connection point of the resistors R1 and R2 connected in series and connected to one end of the main capacitor 121 is monitored by the system controller 115 as charging voltage information of the main capacitor 121. By monitoring the charging voltage, it is possible to properly set the exposure condition. The system controller 115 is an R that stores a dimming table.
It has the OM 115A and sets the exposure condition according to the monitoring result of the charging voltage. The control switch (SW) input / output unit 116 has a shutter trigger switch 117, various condition setting buttons 118, and an input contact unit 119 for exchanging information with an external strobe device. External strobe device 20 which is an external strobe

07, a diffusion plate 208, and a changeover switch 203 which is switched by a main capacitor changeover signal from the microcomputer 209.
By this operation, the main capacitor 202 is connected to the discharge circuit 204 at the time of strobe light emission, the charging circuit 205 at the time of charging other than the strobe light emission, and the resistor R11 of the resistors R11 and R12 connected in series at the time of monitoring the charging voltage. Terminal part 2
Reference numeral 10 outputs information unique to the external strobe device 200, for example, the capacitance of the main capacitor 202, the variation information of the resistors R11 and R12, the light emission characteristic information, the color temperature information, the charging voltage monitor information, and the like, and the information is attached to the imaging device main body 100. In this state, the information is supplied to the image pickup apparatus main body 100. Then, the imaging apparatus main body 100 uses the microcomputer 115 to obtain an optimum image signal corresponding to the attached external strobe device.
Performs a predetermined process to adjust the characteristics. Further, the terminal section 210 receives a shutter command signal and a charging voltage monitor switching signal from the image pickup apparatus main body 100. That is, the terminals A2 and B2 of the external strobe device 200 are grounded, and the grounding information supplied to the input terminals A1 and B1 of the image pickup device main body 100, which is coupled at the time of mounting, is detected to detect the external strobe device. The mounting is detected. Further, the charging voltage monitor output obtained from the connection point of the resistors R11 and R12 is output from the output terminal C2 to the terminal C1, the charging voltage monitor switching signal is output from the terminal D1 to the terminal D2, and the shutter command is sent from the terminal E1 to the terminal E2. Signal (S
HT) is input. The 4-bit emission characteristic information is output from the terminals F2, G2, H2, I2 to the corresponding terminals F1, G1, H1, I1 of the image pickup apparatus main body 100, and the color temperature information is output from the terminals J2 and K2 to the terminals J1 and K1. It The light emission characteristic information and the color temperature information are unique to each external strobe light emitting device, are measured in advance, and are set at the time of factory shipment. In this way, the system controller 115 controls the imaging system to obtain an optimum image signal based on the information obtained via the input contact unit 119. Referring to the flow chart shown in FIG. 2, FIG.
The operation of this embodiment will be described. When the shutter trigger is input, photometric information is input (step S1), and it is determined whether or not the brightness signal level is insufficient (step S2). Here, if the luminance signal level is not insufficient, a normal photographing sequence is performed (step S3), the process is terminated, and if insufficient, aperture information is input (step S4) and the aperture is opened. It is determined whether or not there is (step S5). If the aperture is not in the open state, the aperture is controlled to the open side (step S6), and if the aperture is in the open state, external strobe mounting information is input (step S7). Next, it is determined whether or not an external strobe is present (step S8). If it is determined that there is an external strobe, the external strobe is used, the light emission command port is set to the outside, and the charging voltage monitor is set to the outside (step). S9), light emission characteristic information (variation information of the main capacitor capacity, the charging voltage monitoring resistance, etc.) is input (step S10). Selection of the corresponding external light emission time table based on these information (step S11), input of color temperature information (step S1)
2), the color gain is set (step S13), and the distance information is input (step S14). Subsequently, the charging voltage is referred to and corrected (step S15), the light emission time table is referred to, the strobe light emission time is determined (step S16), and it is determined whether or not the light amount is insufficient (step S17). .. If the light amount is not insufficient, the gain of the gain control circuit 104 of the image pickup system is set to 1 (step S18), the recording process is performed (step S19), and the process is terminated. If the light amount is insufficient in step S17, the gain control circuit 10
The gain of 4 is set to a value that can obtain an appropriate brightness level (step S20), and the recording process of step S19 is performed (step S19). On the other hand, in step S8, if there is no external strobe device, it is judged whether or not there is a built-in strobe device (step S21). If there is, a switch to use of built-in strobe, light emission command port, charging voltage monitor, After setting the light emission time table and the strobe color temperature inside (step S22), the process proceeds to step S13. If it is determined in step S21 that there is no built-in flash, the gain of the gain control circuit of the image pickup system is set to a value at which an appropriate brightness level can be obtained (step S23).
Then, the process proceeds to the normal shooting sequence process in step S23. The setting of the strobe light emission time in the above operation example is performed as follows. First, a boundary code is determined using the monitor charging voltage of the main capacitor. This determination is performed by, for example, the boundary code A corresponding to the boundary voltage value shown in FIG.
~ I is defined. The boundary voltage value corresponds to code A with the full charge voltage of the main capacitor being FULL.
The charge voltage from (full charge voltage -5) to full charge voltage is made to correspond to code B, the charge voltage from (full charge voltage -14) to (full charge voltage -5) is made to code C, ...
Correspondingly decided. Next, based on the boundary code and the distance information, for example, as shown in FIG. 4, the time code T is obtained by referring to the light emission code table. Based on the obtained time code, the light emission time (μsec) is obtained by referring to the light emission time table as shown in FIG. By the way, as the light emission characteristic information, there is information for compensating for the voltage division error due to the series resistance when the main capacitor charging voltage is monitored and the difference in the light emission time due to the difference in the main capacitor capacitance. Generally, the variation of the voltage dividing resistance value is about ± 1%, and the full charge voltage of the main capacitor is usually about 300 to 350V, so that the voltage dividing error is about 3V. However, since the boundary value of the charging voltage is designed at intervals of about 5 to 10 V, the error relatively reaches about 30 to 60%,
This exceeds the permissible range and adversely affects the exposure accuracy. In order to correct this difference, four types of correction coefficients are selected by 2-bit information. For example, as shown in FIG. 6, four kinds of correction coefficients can be selected according to “0” (OFF) and “1” (ON) of the contact 1 and the contact 2 on the output contact side of the external strobe light emitting device 200. And FIG. 7 shows the relationship between the light emission time and the light emission amount by # 1 and # 2 for the built-in strobe having a small main capacitor capacity and the external strobe having a large main capacitor capacity, respectively. The amount of light emitted by stroboscopic light emission corresponds to both nets (alternate shaded areas) in # 1 because the charging voltage drops rapidly, whereas it corresponds to the sum of the areas and shaded areas in # 2. Therefore, even if the light emission time T1 is the same, a difference corresponding to the two occurs, and an exposure error occurs. Therefore, in the present embodiment, in order to correspond to the four types of main capacitors having different capacities in the external strobe device, the above 2-bit information is received from each external strobe device and the appropriate light emission time corresponding to each time code is received. I try to select a table. FIGS. 8 to 11 show examples of light emission time tables 1 to 4 selected corresponding to four types of main capacitors. Even if the time code is the same, the capacity of each main capacitor is different. Correspondingly to obtain the optimum exposure condition,
The light emission time is different for each. Further, in this embodiment, white balance control based on the difference in color temperature of strobe light is also performed. The correction of the exposure error caused by the color temperature difference of the strobe light is represented by 2-bit information by the contact information as in the above.
Type (color temperature: 6000 ° K, 5700 ° K, 5500
° K and 5200 ° K) so that the optimum white balance can be obtained as shown in FIG. 12, R (red)
It is performed by setting the gain and the B (blue) gain to appropriate values. That is, as shown in FIG. 13, in a normal state, the relationship between the wavelength of light and the amount of light is constant at the white level, but as the color temperature becomes higher, the B component becomes higher and the R component becomes smaller. On the contrary, when the color temperature becomes low, the B component becomes low and the R component becomes high. Therefore, as described above, the R gain and the B gain are adjusted and set so that the optimum white balance is obtained. FIG. 14 shows another embodiment of the present invention. Unlike the above-mentioned embodiment, information is not exchanged based on contact information, but the image pickup unit main body 100 and the external strobe light emitting device 200 are respectively provided. This is performed by the microcomputers 150 and 250 provided in the. In other words, in the above-described embodiment, information is transmitted and received through multiple contact points, but the number of contact points increases as the amount of interface information increases, and the area of the joint (coupling) portion between the external strobe device and the image pickup apparatus main body 100 increases. However, this is an obstacle to miniaturization. Therefore, in this embodiment, the miniaturization is facilitated by exchanging a large amount of information by the coded information SI and SO by the microcomputer. In the above-described embodiment, not only the real-time photometric sensor is unnecessary and the cost can be reduced, but also
Since the color temperature of the strobe light is known before shooting, the white balance control based on the information of the CCD output signal by pre-emission is unnecessary. In addition, it is possible to prevent unnecessary consumption of the electric charge charged to the main capacitor of the strobe and also to prevent unnecessary consumption of the strobe battery. Furthermore, since the charging voltage of the external strobe main capacitor is known before the start of light emission, it is not necessary to record an image with a low exposure level due to insufficient light emission due to insufficient charging. When such underexposure occurs, it is possible to display a warning to that effect. As described above, according to the image pickup apparatus of the present invention, since the performance information of the external strobe is received and the image pickup signal is processed based on this information, there is a difference in performance between the external strobes. Even if there is, for example, it is possible to keep the recording image quality constant and always record the image in the best state.
