That is, to explain using FIG. 4, a sealing lid 1 equipped with a safety valve device has a lid plate 2 having a valve hole 2a, a gas vent hole 3a in the center, and is caulked by a bent edge 2b of the lid plate 2. Dish-shaped terminal plate 3 to be installed
and a flexible thin plate 4 whose periphery is held between the lid plate 2 and the terminal plate 3 to constantly close the valve hole 2a, and a part of the terminal plate 3 is bent inward to form the thin plate 4. Opposing cutting edges 5 are formed, and an insulating packing 8 is provided at the opening of the outer can 7 which also serves as a terminal into which the sealing lid 1 inserts the electrode group 6.
It is installed in an air-tight and liquid-tight manner. The thin plate 4 is made of a metal plate, a synthetic resin plate, or a composite member thereof.

In the battery, when the battery internal pressure rises due to an internal short circuit and reaches a predetermined pressure, the thin plate 4 is bent upward by gas pressure through the valve hole 2a.
The thin plate 4 is destroyed by the cutting blade 5 or gas pressure,
The gas inside the battery is discharged into the atmosphere from the gas vent hole 3a via the valve hole 2a, thereby preventing destruction of the battery.

Incidentally, in recent years, when such batteries are used as memory backup power supplies for electronic devices, for example, as shown in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-130958, a battery that also serves as the battery's positive or negative terminal is used. It is common practice to weld a connection lead piece to a terminal board and connect it directly to a printed circuit board with an electronic circuit by soldering, or to connect it by fitting a battery between the terminals on the device side. .

In this case, since the terminal plate 3 of the battery is provided with a gas vent hole 3a, the connection lead piece is inserted into the gas vent hole 3a.
If welded in such a way as to block a, the gas inside the battery will not be discharged into the atmosphere in the event of an abnormality and the battery will be destroyed. For this reason, conventionally, as shown in Figure 5, the battery manufacturing A dedicated connection lead piece 9 that does not block the gas vent hole 3a by a person, that is, a connection lead piece 9 equipped with an annular connection part 9a that surrounds the gas vent hole 3a, is prepared, and this is welded to the terminal plate 3. We are trying to supply it to users.

However, when a user welds a connection lead piece to a battery or inserts a battery between the terminals of a device, it is said that the user can simply make an electrical connection with the terminal board 3 without being familiar with the functions of this type of safety valve device. This may block the gas vent hole 3a, resulting in damage to the battery.

In addition, there are cases where it is not possible to use a dedicated connection lead piece 9 that does not block the gas vent hole 3a, and a plate-shaped connection lead piece 9' is required, as shown by the dashed line in the figure. This results in the gas vent hole 3a of the terminal plate 3 being blocked.

This invention was made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and includes providing a lid plate with a valve hole and a dish-shaped terminal plate with a gas vent hole in the center at the opening of the outer can of the battery. In the battery safety valve device, a flexible thin plate that permanently closes the valve hole is held between the cover plate and the terminal plate, and a cutting blade is provided on the inner bottom surface of the terminal plate protrudingly opposite to the thin plate. This is a battery safety valve device in which a second gas vent hole is provided on the bottom edge or outer peripheral side of the terminal board.

Therefore, even if the gas vent hole is blocked due to the connection of the connection lead piece to the terminal board, if the flexible thin plate is destroyed by the cutting edge or gas pressure due to the rise in battery internal pressure, the gas inside the battery will leak. Since the gas is discharged into the atmosphere from the second gas vent hole through the valve hole, destruction of the battery due to an increase in internal pressure is prevented.

In these drawings, the same symbols as above indicate the same things, and the difference is that second gas vent holes 10 are formed at two locations on the bottom edge of the dish-shaped terminal plate 3 by, for example, press working.

Therefore, if the first gas vent hole 3a is blocked by the plate-shaped connecting lead piece 9' welded on the terminal board 3, as shown by the dashed line in the drawing, the internal battery may be damaged due to an internal short circuit of the battery, etc. When the pressure increases, the thin plate 4 is bent and destroyed by the cutting blade 5 or the gas pressure, and the gas inside the battery is released to the atmosphere from the second gas vent hole 10 through the valve hole 2a as shown by the arrow in FIG. This prevents damage to the battery.

As described above, according to the battery safety valve device of this invention, the second gas vent hole is located on the bottom edge or outer peripheral side of the dish-shaped terminal plate which has the first gas vent hole at a position opposite to the valve hole.
By providing the gas vent hole, even if the gas vent hole is blocked by an external element, the gas inside the battery can be discharged into the atmosphere through the second gas vent hole, thereby preventing the battery from being destroyed. The function of the valve device can be demonstrated with an extremely simple configuration, and a highly reliable safety valve device can be provided.
