In particular, intraocular lenses have recently been highly utilized due to their excellent characteristics. ing. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is well known as a material for this intraocular lens, but while PMMA has excellent optical characteristics and ability to correct visual acuity, it may damage corneal endothelial cells during intraocular insertion, The incision usually had to be larger than 6 mm, which had the drawback that there was a high possibility of complications after surgery. Moreover, biological components easily adhere in the eye,
There are also reports of cases where the optical surface becomes opaque. PMMA
Regarding the lens, the problem of opacification of the optical surface due to the attachment of biological components has been improved by various surface treatment techniques, but regarding the problems such as damage of corneal endothelial cells and complication of complications, The reality is that it has not been improved.
Therefore, a soft intraocular lens material has been devised, for example, poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), poly (N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone), etc. as the water-containing material, and silicone as the non-water-containing material. , Acrylic acrylate polymers, etc. are known. However, soft lenses can be dehydrated and shrunk or folded and inserted through a small incision,
It is unlikely to damage intraocular tissue or to cause complications after surgery, but it is damaged during or after insertion into the eye due to insufficient optical characteristics and ability to correct vision and low mechanical strength. However, it is difficult to process the intraocular lens with high precision because the soft lens material is inferior in fine processability. On the other hand, composite lenses having a hard optical part and a soft peripheral part have also been proposed (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 55-29402 and Japanese Patent Publication No. 60-49298), but these compound lenses have a soft peripheral portion. Will it soften and swell with water,
Or it has high water absorption and absorbs moisture during processing,
Distortion occurs in the boundary region between the soft peripheral portion and the hard optical portion, and it is difficult to finish it precisely. In addition, since the peripheral portion is soft, there is a possibility that it may be damaged during or after insertion into the eye, and the positional stability in the eye is poor and there is a drawback that it tends to be displaced.

An object of the present invention is to provide a compound lens which is not deviated, has excellent position stability, has good workability, and can be processed with high precision.

The present invention relates to a compound lens, which is K or more and the material of the optical part is relatively softer than the material of the peripheral part. That the optical part material in the present invention is relatively soft as compared with the peripheral part material means that the tensile modulus and the glass transition point of the optical part material are lower than those of the peripheral part material.

When the compound lens is inserted into the eye, it cannot be folded into a small size, which makes it impossible to insert the compound lens through a small incision and may damage the intraocular tissue. On the other hand, when the tensile elastic modulus of the optical part material is smaller than 0.01 MPa, the optical characteristics of the lens are deteriorated. Although the lower limit of the glass transition point of the optical material is not particularly limited, it is usually 130 in view of optical characteristics and the like.
Materials of ° K or above are used. On the other hand, regarding the peripheral material, if the tensile elastic modulus is less than 10 MPa or the glass transition point is less than 270 ° K, the positional stability in the eye is poor and the possibility of deviation is increased, which is not preferable. If the tensile modulus is higher than 500 GPa, the intraocular tissue may be damaged during and after the insertion. Although the upper limit of the glass transition point of the peripheral material is not particularly limited, a material having a temperature of 500 ° K or less is usually used so as not to damage living tissue during and after insertion into the eye.

する。Among the above methods (a) to (d), (a)
The method of (1) requires a large number of types of precision molding dies depending on the type of compound lens, etc., and thus has problems in economic efficiency, workability, etc. Since the monomer forming the part material has a long chain or has a special substituent, there is a drawback that the preparation of the monomer is complicated, and the control of the polymerization reaction is not easy. Are preferably the methods (c) and (d) above.
Regarding (c) and (d), examples of the method for softening the optical part include a method of introducing a substituent capable of softening the polymer, a method of cleaving a bond between polymer molecules, and the like. Examples of the hardening method include a method of introducing a functional group capable of hardening the polymer and a method of cleaving a bond between polymer molecules. In particular, a method of softening the optical part by introducing a substituent capable of softening the polymer is preferable. Therefore, in the following, a method of introducing a substituent capable of softening the optical part will be described in detail.

Both of them can be manufactured by a method in which the material of the optical part and the material of the peripheral part which have been formed in advance are compounded in a required arrangement relationship. Among these methods, (i) and (ii) are capable of suppressing polymerization distortion and optical distortion by appropriately selecting and combining the type and composition of the monomer, and at the same time, the optical part material. This is a preferable method in that the bonding between the material and the peripheral material can be made tighter. The methods (i) and (ii) can be applied to the polymerization in the above (a) and (b). Further, the method of producing the single bulk polymer (d) itself will be apparent to those skilled in the art.

No. 49298) and the method (ii) described above, for example, in the reaction of introducing a softening-capable substituent into the hollow portion of a hollow cylindrical material made of a non-reactive or low-reactive polymer. It can be carried out by, for example, a method of injecting a monomer which gives a highly reactive polymer and polymerizing.
The monomer component in these polymerizations may be in the form of a prepolymer or a solution in which a suitable polymer is dissolved in the monomer. Furthermore, the preformed optical part material or peripheral part material used in the above (i) and (ii) is also in the form of a prepolymer or a monomer in the polymer as long as it can maintain a desired shape during polymerization. May be impregnated with them, and in these cases, the polymerization of the monomer components may be completed in the above-mentioned polymerization process.

The alcohol-reactive monomer in the polymer constituting the optical part material is generally used within the range of 10 to 80% by weight, preferably 30 to 70% by weight, based on the total monomers. If the content of the alcohol-reactive monomer is less than 10% by weight, the optical part cannot be sufficiently softened, and if it exceeds 80% by weight, the optical part after the softening is weakened and easily broken. Become.
In addition, regarding the other monomer used in combination with the alcohol-reactive monomer, the silicone compound represented by the general formula (II) accounts for 0 to 50% by weight, particularly 10 to 40% by weight of all the monomers. The acrylic ester represented by the general formula (III) is preferably 10 to 60% by weight, particularly preferably 15 to 50% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers, and the crosslinkable monomer is preferably 0 to 0% by weight. 30% by weight, particularly preferably 0 to 20% by weight, and the hydrophilic monomer is preferably 0 to 20% by weight, particularly preferably 0 to 15% by weight, based on the total monomers. If the amount of the crosslinking monomer is too large, the material becomes brittle, and if the amount of the hydrophilic monomer is too large, the water content of the material becomes high, which is not suitable.

As the monomer, a silicone compound represented by the general formula (II), an acrylic ester represented by the general formula (III), the crosslinkable monomer, the hydrophilic monomer and / or the styrene or a compound thereof Derivatives can be used. Further, in the monomer, the alcohol-reactive monomer is 0 to
It can be present in the range of 50% by weight, but in this case it is generally preferred to contain 5 to 40% by weight of the alcohol-reactive monomer. In this way, when the peripheral material contains the alcohol-reactive monomer, the composition thereof approaches that of the optical material, and it becomes possible to suppress polymerization distortion and optical distortion of the compound lens. If the content of the alcohol-reactive monomer exceeds 50% by weight, the mechanical strength of the peripheral portion becomes insufficient.

For example, the composition is large between both materials. It is preferably not different. Therefore, when both the optical part material and the peripheral part material are produced by polymerization, the type and composition of the monomers of both materials are appropriately adjusted, or both materials have the same monomer and composition. Preferably.
In the former case, in the optical part, the content of the alcohol-reactive monomer is increased, and in the peripheral part, the content of the alcohol-reactive monomer is relatively low, and the peripheral material It is necessary to increase the content of the monomer that gives a polymer that raises the hardness, tensile modulus, or glass transition point. In the latter case, as described in (d) above, only the optical material is reacted with alcohol.

It has a tensile elastic modulus of 1,000 MPa and a glass transition point of 330 ° K or less, and the peripheral portion is 10 MPa to 5 MPa.
It is selected to have a tensile modulus of 00 GPa and a glass transition point above 270 ° K. It should be noted that the composition can be changed to some extent between the material of the optical part and the material of the peripheral part if a polymerization method, a molding method or the like capable of reducing the polymerization distortion and the optical distortion of the compound lens can be adopted. Further, in the present invention, the optical material and the peripheral material can be combined so as to provide a compound lens having a so-called tilted structure in which the tensile modulus or the glass transition point continuously changes from the optical portion to the peripheral portion. ..

Alternatively, a transesterification reaction is performed. The alcohol used at this time varies depending on the desired tensile modulus or glass transition point of the material for the optical portion and the material for the peripheral portion, and specific examples thereof include n-butanol, n-pentanol, and n-butanol. Alcohols having 3 to 12 carbon atoms such as hexanol, n-heptanol, n-octanol, n-nonanol, n-decanol, n-undecanol, and n-dodecanol, and a part of hydrogen atoms in the alkyl group of these alcohols or Fluoroalkyl alcohols in which all are substituted with fluorine atoms can be mentioned. The parts are based on weight. Example 1 A mixture of 25 parts of acrylic acid, 15 parts of butyl acrylate, 5 parts of ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, 55 parts of butyl methacrylate and 0.05 part of benzoin methyl ether was poured into a polyethylene container having an inner diameter of 5 mm and a depth of 20 mm. After irradiating ultraviolet rays for 1 hour at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere, the polymerization was stopped to obtain a purine-like columnar product. This columnar object has an inner diameter of 15 mm and a depth of 20 mm.
Place it in the center of the polyethylene container and add 10 parts of acrylic acid and 5 parts of ethylene glycol dimethacrylate around it.
Part, butyl acrylate 30 parts, ethyl methacrylate 55 parts, benzoin methyl ether 0.05 parts and azobisisobutyronitrile 0.05 parts were injected and left at room temperature for 1 hour after standing under a nitrogen atmosphere. Irradiate with UV light for 10 hours, and then 70 ° under UV irradiation.
The temperature was raised to C and polymerization was carried out for 24 hours. After the polymerization, the obtained bulk polymer was cut and polished to prepare an intraocular lens-shaped lens substrate shown in FIG. In the cutting and polishing step, this copolymer could be processed in the same manner as an ordinary hard polymethylmethacrylate intraocular lens and had a smooth finished surface. Then, this lens substrate is attached to n-butanol 200
ml, toluene 10 ml and methanesulfonic acid 0.5
Put in a flask containing a reaction mixture consisting of ml,
Acrylic acid in the polymer was esterified by reacting at reflux temperature for 48 hours. After completion of the reaction, the polymer was washed with methanol using a Soxhlet extractor and dried to obtain a compound intraocular lens having a soft optical part and a relatively hard peripheral part. The tensile modulus / glass transition point of the optical part material is 5
MPa / 270 ° K, peripheral material is 135MPa / 310
It was ° K. The obtained compound intraocular lens could be bent by pinching both ends with tweezers, and neither constriction nor abnormal refraction was observed from the optical part to the peripheral part. In addition, for surgery to enter the eye interior of rabbits, conventional incision (6 mm
The above can be easily inserted through a smaller incision (4 to 5 mm), and even after the insertion, the positional stability is good, and the whole body does not jump out from the lens capsule unlike a soft intraocular lens. .. Further, dirt was not easily adsorbed, and even after 1 month from the operation, a clear retinal image similar to that before the operation was observed.
