A prepreg on which metal foil is placed is passed between electrodes for high frequency application, and dielectric heating is performed under no pressure or contact pressure to heat the resin impregnated in the prepreg to a molten state, which is then driven by a drum. The prepreg and the metal foil are laminated and bonded together by passing between the belts and applying pressure and heat to harden the resin of the prepreg using a pressure and heating device.

When it adheres to and hardens, unevenness will be formed on the metal foil surface of continuously manufactured metal foil-clad laminates, resulting in the production of metal foil-clad laminates with poor surface quality and uneven surfaces. There was a problem. For this reason, in the past, a grinding brush was provided on the belt.
This grinding brush is used to grind the surface of the belt to remove the hardened resin that has adhered to the belt, but currently it is not possible to completely remove the hardened resin by only grinding with the grinding brush. Moreover, there have been cases where foreign matter that has been removed by the grinding brush ends up adhering to the surface of the belt again.

A pair of upper and lower heating and pressing devices 9 are arranged between both belts 4 to sandwich a laminate 3 in which a metal foil 2 is laminated on a prepreg 1, and a guide roll 10 that sends the manufactured laminate to the next process. It is structured by. The belt 4 mentioned above has scratches on the surface,
A pair of two rolls 4a on the left and right, steel belts 4' without pinholes etc. are installed above and below.
This is a double belt that is wound between the belts and rotated endlessly at the top and bottom, and a plurality of grinding brushes 5 for grinding the surface of the steel belt 4' are arranged adjacent to each other on this belt 4. In the illustrated embodiment, the belts are arranged at two locations on one belt, but they may be arranged at two or more locations. And this grinding brush 5
By grinding the surface of the belt 4 with the grinder, if foreign matter such as resin is attached to the surface of the belt 4, the foreign matter can be scraped off. The belt 4 is attached to the side of the grinding brush 5 by the grinding brush 5.
A dust collector 6 is disposed to suction and remove foreign matter such as resin that has been scraped off by grinding the surface. As shown in FIG. 2, this dust collector 6 is composed of a jetting body 6a that jets out high-pressure air, and a suction body 6b that sucks the high-pressure air jetted from the jetting body 6a onto the surface of the belt 4. Yes, the foreign matter scraped off by the grinding brush 5 is the ejected body 6a.
After one end is lifted off the surface of the belt 4 by the high-pressure air blown out, it is sucked into the suction body 6b and removed. 6c is an electrostatic bar provided on the ejector 6a, and the high-pressure air ejected from the ejector 6a is ionized by being ejected through the electrostatic bar 6c, and high-pressure air with static electricity prevented is ejected. This is to prevent foreign matter that has been scraped off by static electricity from adhering to the surface of the belt 4 again.
The prepreg 1 on which the metal foil 2 such as copper foil is laminated is prepared as a long body by impregnating a base material such as glass cloth or paper with a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin and drying it. Ru. Then, as shown in FIG. 1, the prepreg 1 is unwound from a roll and continuously supplied between a pair of upper and lower belts 4. On the other hand, a metal foil 2 such as a copper foil is also formed into a long length and wound into a roll, which is unwound and superimposed on the outer surface of the outermost layer of the prepreg 1 by a stacking roll 7. When creating a double-sided metal foil-clad laminate, two sheets of metal foil 2 are superimposed on both outer surfaces of the prepreg 1, and when creating a single-sided metal foil-clad laminate, one outer surface of the prepreg 1 is overlapped. A piece of metal foil 2 is placed on top of the other. Here, the metal foil 2 may be coated with an adhesive, or may be a combination of an aluminum carrier and an ultra-thin copper foil. The laminate 3 in which the prepreg 1 and the metal foil 2 are stacked is passed between the upper and lower high frequency application electrodes 8, and the laminate 3 is impregnated by dielectric heating under no pressure or contact pressure. The resin is preferably heated to about 100°C to 140°C. At this time, electrode 8
It is desirable to use contact pressure to electrically connect the metal foil 2 and the metal foil 2. In addition, dielectric heating is performed until the resin in the prepreg 1 melts and becomes fluid, and when dielectric heated in this way, the heating temperature is higher inside the prepreg 1 rather than on the surface, and the electric heating There is no possibility that the surface portion of the prepreg 1 will be heated to a higher temperature than the inside, as in the case of external heating using a heater, etc., and the curing reaction of the resin will proceed faster on the surface portion of the prepreg 1, making it impossible for the air bubbles inside the prepreg 1 to come out. As a result, the air bubbles can be removed easily in the next step, and the amount of air bubbles remaining in the prepreg 1 can be reduced. After the resin in the prepreg 1 is melted by preheating by dielectric heating in this manner, the laminate 3 is introduced between the pair of upper and lower belts 4. Pressure is applied to the laminate 3 between the belts 4, and a heating and pressing device 9 such as a heating plate is placed inside each belt 4, and this heating and pressing also applies pressure to the laminate 3. The resin of the prepreg 1 is cured by applying pressure and heat, and the prepreg 1 and the metal foil 2 are laminated and bonded together. Here, when the prepreg 1 is dielectrically heated to melt the resin, gas is generated due to the melting of the resin, and the molten resin flows to the side, causing the molten resin to adhere to the surface of the belt 4. It may harden. If the laminate 3 is heated and pressurized continuously in this state, unevenness will be formed on the surface of the metal foil 2 due to foreign matter such as resin that has adhered to the surface and hardened. The surface of the steel belt 4' to which is adhered is ground by passing through a plurality of grinding brushes 5 during rotation by the roll 4a, and the surface is thus ground by the plurality of grinding brushes 5. The foreign matter adhering to the surface is scraped off by the grinding brush 5, and then the scraped foreign matter is sent to the dust collector 6.
The particles are suctioned and removed by the belt 4 to ensure that they are removed from the surface of the belt 4. Then, the cured laminate 3 is guided by guide rolls 9 and cut at predetermined locations using a cutting machine, for example, to obtain a metal-clad laminate having a predetermined width and length. be. Here, since the prepreg 1 has been previously heated by dielectric heating, the belt 4
Prepreg 1 and metal foil 2 when heated between
There is virtually no difference in heating rate between the prepreg 1 and the metal foil 2, and the occurrence of wrinkles in the metal foil due to the difference in thermal expansion between the prepreg 1 and the metal foil 2 can be prevented.

It is completely removed from the belt surface by being thoroughly scraped off by multiple grinding brushes and then suctioned away by a dust collector. A metal foil-clad laminate of good quality can be obtained.
