Must be inserted into the narrow slit portion 12 of the slider material 9 and fixed with a spacer 13 made of metal,
This process is very precise and cumbersome and inferior in workability.
The productivity was significantly hindered. Further, from the viewpoint of characteristics, the core chip 1 is required to have a thin thickness of about 100 μm, but in the above-mentioned conventional technique, such a thin core chip is required due to problems in handling and processing. It was very difficult to manufacture the floating magnetic head of No. 1.

Prepare a core chip block that is larger and more workable than the state, and fix this core chip block to the cutout part of the slider material with glass material or resin material, and then to the side surface of the slider material (core chip fixed side) and the core chip block. By cutting off a part at the same time,
It has a step of simultaneously controlling the lateral width of the slider and the thickness of the core chip block to complete the core chip.

After fixing the block to the slider notch, the slider lateral width and the core chip block thickness are simultaneously finished to the final dimensions to complete the core chip, which makes it easier to handle the core chip.
Further, the core chip and the slider material can be easily fixed to each other, and the number of handling steps can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, since the back depth monitor, which can observe the back depth dimension regulation from the side surface of the slider material, can be controlled, workability and productivity can be significantly improved. Further, since the thickness of the core chip after completion can be made thinner than before, the quality of electromagnetic conversion characteristics can be improved, and an excellent floating magnetic head can be manufactured.
