As an example, the undercoat paint can be selected in any color. Also, depending on the target patchy pattern,
When using the surface of the base material itself (for example, when the base material is a resin plate, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. and the gloss of the surface is used), omit the undercoat film and apply the overcoat paint directly. You may. In applying the undercoat paint, any application device such as a spray gun, a roll coater, a flow coater, and silk screen printing can be used. In the top coating composition, the coating composition preferably has a small pigment-forming material content and a small hiding power. For the mica particles coated with the metal oxide to be contained,
Of pearlescent pigments having a particle size of 100 microns,
Characterized by including at least one type. In addition, in applying the above-mentioned top coating composition, it may be impregnated with a brush and sprinkled, but a top coating composition containing mica particles coated with a metal oxide, such as a spray gun, silk screen printing, etc., is spotted or has a granular pattern. In addition, it is characterized by making it appear. Furthermore, when applying the top coat paint with a spray gun, according to the spraying method, by adjusting the spraying spray pressure and the viscosity of the paint containing the mica particles coated with the metal oxide, the spotty size is increased. And the height can be made to appear in an arbitrary patchy pattern, and the patchy pattern can be made to appear in an arbitrary density by changing the coating speed. Such a technique can be easily realized even by a conventional coating technique. As mentioned above,
A pigment having a low hiding power, that is, a transparent coloring pigment may be added to the top coating composition. Therefore, when a color different from the interference color of the mica particles coated with the metal oxide is selected, the color of the coloring pigment or the interference color of the mica particles coated with the main metal oxide can be derived. The pearlescent color due to the mica particles coated with metal oxide is due to the interference phenomenon of the reflection of incident light in a thin layer of metal oxide. This interference varies depending on the angle of incident light or the viewing angle. The undercoat paint according to the present invention or containing mica particles coated with a metal oxide, as the overcoat paint,
Synthetic resin emulsion paint, aminoalkyd resin, acrylic resin, urethane resin, nitrified cotton lacquer, vinyl synthetic resin, epoxy resin, etc. may be mentioned depending on the use such as weather resistance and physical properties. The present inventor has achieved the present invention by making earnest research on an efficient coating method that facilitates the above conditions to be revealed. First, an undercoating paint is applied to a substrate, the coating film is dried, and a topcoat paint containing metal oxide-coated mica particles in an amount of 5.00 parts by weight is mottled with a spray gun. A coating was applied and the coating was dried. On the surface of the spotted pattern coating film obtained by the above method, the interference phenomenon of the mica particles coated with the metal oxide remarkably appeared, and the three-dimensional effect using the interference phenomenon could be exhibited. Furthermore, by changing the color of the pearlescent pigment, the amount by weight, and the color of the base coat of the mica particles coated with the metal oxide contained in the top coat, an arbitrary color or mottled pattern can be obtained. I was able to get it out. Next, the present invention will be described with reference to examples. All parts in the text are parts by weight. Example 1 The following materials were used as the undercoat paint. Thermosetting polyester synthetic resin coating (white toning) 70.00 parts (manufactured by Osaka Varnish Co., Ltd.) Thinner 30.00 parts Total 100.00 parts 100 parts of the above-mentioned coating composition on a base material (cardboard) with a spray gun ( 1.2 mm diameter), air pressure for spraying 4 kg / cm
3 was spray applied, setting time was 60 seconds, and then dried and baked at 120 ° C. for 15 minutes to form a white undercoat. The following materials were used as the top coating material. Thermosetting polyester synthetic resin paint (clear) 80.00 parts (manufactured by Osaka Varnish Co., Ltd.) Mica particles (rutile titanium oxide) 5.00 parts Disperser 202 2.00 parts (manufactured by Nihon Koken) Thinner 13.00 parts Total 100.00 parts 100 parts of the above-mentioned mixed paint on the above-mentioned undercoat coating film using a spray gun (caliber 1.2 mm), spraying air pressure 1.5 kg /
It was applied by spraying in a patchy manner at a cm 3 setting time of 5 minutes, and then dried and baked at 140 ° C. for 15 minutes to form a patchy pattern.

According to the present invention, the color of the pearlescent pigment of the mica particles coated with the metal oxide contained therein and the amount of the parts by weight contained in the base coat (when using this) and the top coat are specified. The size, height, density, etc. of spotted or granular shape can be arbitrarily selected. The coating film in which these are complicatedly combined changes into various colors depending on the viewing angle, and a three-dimensional and artistic mottled pattern can be formed. Further, according to the present invention, it can be carried out at a speed of a normal industrial production line, and it can be automatically and uniformly and easily made non-uniform, so that the shape of the coating material can be selected to be beautiful with a change in hue. A coated surface can be obtained.
