However, in the conventional vehicle display device as described above, one indicator light is used for one indicator lamp.
Since two harnesses and one drive actuator are each connected, the same number of harnesses and drive actuators as the number of lamps are required.
As a result, especially in recent vehicles where the number of indicator lamps of this kind is increasing, the harness as a whole becomes noticeably bulky and costs are high.

Furthermore, when maintenance and inspection are carried out at a dealer or the like using the display device as described above, conventionally, for example, a predetermined check signal is inputted to the control means D to blink a specific indicator lamp, and the blinking pattern is Therefore, the presence or absence of an abnormality in the relevant part of the vehicle has been diagnosed, but in this case, there is a problem in that considerable skill and attentiveness are required to read the details of the failure from the blinking pattern of the indicator lamp. Therefore, in the past, there has been a strong demand for a display device that can easily perform this type of fault diagnosis work and display the diagnosis results in an easy-to-read manner.

According to such a configuration, each indicator lamp arranged in a matrix is turned on by the operation of the lamp driving means corresponding to the row and column to which the indicator lamp belongs. The state of each part of the vehicle, such as the door ajar state, is displayed by the lighting or non-lighting of the indicator lamp on the display device, and when diagnosing a fault, the lighting and non-lighting of the indicator lamps arranged in a matrix are combined. The failure diagnosis results will be displayed using the following display pattern. Incidentally, as the indicator lamp, for example, a light emitting diode, a light bulb, etc. are used.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the above configuration, a plurality of indicator lamps are arranged in a matrix, and a lamp driving means is provided corresponding to each row and column constituting the matrix, so that each indicator lamp is arranged in a matrix. The indicator lamps are turned on by the operation of the lamp driving means corresponding to the row and column to which they belong, so the number of harnesses connected to these lamps is determined by the lamps. The total number of rows and columns of the matrix is sufficient, and the number of lamp driving means (for example, transistors) for lighting these lamps can be equal to the number of harnesses. This causes indicator lamp 1
Compared to conventional display devices that require one harness for each lamp, the number of harnesses and lamp driving means can be significantly reduced, which reduces costs and reduces the weight and simplification of the wiring system. will be realized.

Particularly, according to the present invention, since the plurality of indicator lamps described above are used to display diagnosis results during failure diagnosis, a display device for failure diagnosis is provided separately from the display device for displaying the status of each part of the vehicle. Combined with the significant reduction in the number of lamp drive means and harnesses, the overall configuration is significantly simplified compared to the previous case. The results of this fault diagnosis are displayed as a matrix of indicator lamps arranged in a pattern of lighting and non-lighting. Visibility is significantly improved compared to conventional display devices, and failure diagnosis work can be performed extremely easily.

First, in a normal case, each sensor 2 1 to 2 9 detects the state of each part of the vehicle, and depending on the result, the corresponding sensor (for example, the first sensor 2 1 that detects a fuel shortage state)
A predetermined signal (for example, a fuel shortage signal a 1 ) is output from the control unit 3 to the logic processing unit 5 in the control unit 3. On the other hand, the logic processing unit 5 in the control unit 3 outputs the first to third PNP type transistors 6 1 to 6 3 . As shown in the time chart of FIG .
Scan signals (ON signals) b 1 to b 3 in this order,
In other words, the lamps 4 11 to 4 33 are periodically scanned and sent out in the order of their rows. For example, when the signal a 1 is input as described above, the first indicator lamp 4 11 for indicating fuel shortage is displayed. By making the first NPN transistor 7 1 conductive in synchronization with the sent out first scan signal b 1 , the first selection signal (OFF signal) c 1 is sent out to the first indicator lamp 4 11 . This causes the first indicator lamp 4 11
A current flows through the lamp 411 to light up the lamp 411 , and as a result, information about the fuel shortage state is displayed on the display section. Furthermore, when the signals a 2 to a 9 from the second to ninth sensors 2 2 to 2 9 are input to the logic processing section 5, the respective indicator lamps 4 are

On the other hand, during failure diagnosis, that is, failure diagnosis switch 1
When 0 is input, the control unit 3 in the display device 1 performs a fault diagnosis operation in accordance with the flowchart shown in FIG. 3, in addition to the normal state detection and display operation as described above. In other words, when diagnosing a fault,
First, in step S1 , it is confirmed that the fault diagnosis switch 10 has been turned on, and then step S2 is executed. performs fault diagnosis operations. Then, in step S3 , the presence or absence of an operational abnormality is checked, and if there is an operational abnormality, it is further determined in step S4 whether or not the abnormality is an operational abnormality with error code I. In that case, if the abnormality is an error code abnormality, the step
By executing S5 , a predetermined lamp among the indicator lamps 411 to 433 , for example, the third,
The fifth and seventh lamps 4 13 , 4 22 , and 4 31 are turned on. As a result, as shown in FIG. 4, the failure of the error code is indicated by a predetermined lighting pattern of each indicator lamp arranged in a matrix. If the error code is not abnormal, steps S6 to S7 or S8 are executed to display a pattern indicating the error code or an abnormal operation of the error code in the same manner as described above. Incidentally, FIG. 4 shows the lighting pattern of the error code (the first, fourth, and seventh indicator lamps 4 11 , 4 21 , and 4 31 are lit).

As described above, according to the present invention, the indicator lamps 4 11 to 4 33 that display the status and failure diagnosis results of each part of the vehicle are arranged in a matrix, and the harnesses are arranged in a number corresponding to the rows and columns of the matrix. All indicator lamps through 4 11 ~
4 33 is driven to turn on. This reduces the number of harnesses and the number of lamp drive actuators (transistors 6 1 to 6 3 , 7 1 to 7 3 ) will be significantly reduced. In addition, since the fault diagnosis results are displayed in the array pattern of the indicator lamps 4 11 to 4 33 arranged in a matrix, lighting and non-lighting, the visibility is significantly improved and the fault diagnosis work is also extremely simplified. will be done.
