Conventionally, when drying irregularly shaped veneer veneers (hereinafter simply referred to as veneers) cut from logs, the undried veneer is inserted into a known cutting device in a direction perpendicular to the fibers. The portions are removed one after another, and each time the accumulated width of the remaining effective veneer reaches a desired width (for example, approximately half the width of the insertion opening of the drying device), a fixed length cut is performed, and as illustrated in FIG. In order to form veneers S forming a shaku veneer group, the end faces of each effective veneer Sb are brought together so that the overall width l is approximately constant, and the veneers are once deposited on, for example, a receiving plate, and then the pile is piled up. After the fibers are transferred to the front of the drying device, an operator inserts the fibers into the drying device one by one in the same direction as the fibers, starting from the top.

However, according to the above-mentioned processing method, it is necessary to insert each effective veneer individually, which not only complicates the work but also requires a large number of processing personnel based on a relatively large number of effective veneers. It is necessary to place the veneer Sm, which wastes a lot of manpower.Furthermore, as shown in FIG. From the time of inserting the next veneer S2, the alignment of the veneer S2 becomes disrupted, making the insertion work even more complicated, and furthermore, it becomes difficult to fully insert the veneer with the desired width, which inevitably leads to problems with the drying equipment. There are problems such as a decrease in the filling rate, and as a result, rationalization of the treatment process is significantly hindered.

Therefore, by using a bonding member made of adhesive, bonding tape, etc., for example, the effective veneers that are adjacent to each other on the left and right are bonded to each other, improving the handling of each veneer and solving the above-mentioned problems. Attempts have been made to do so, but the adhesive strength of the veneer is extremely poor due to moisture content, and the strength of the joint at the joint is mainly dependent on the strength of the joining member itself. However, there are drawbacks such as not being able to obtain the necessary and sufficient bonding strength, or the bonding cost becoming extremely high. Although some methods of embedding adhesive threads have been put into practical use, none of them have achieved satisfactory results at present.

The present invention was developed to solve the problems of the conventional processing method described above, and as described later, by applying a locking member that does not require much locking strength, the alignment and strength of the veneer itself can be improved. The aim is to utilize it rationally, significantly improve its handling, and rationalize the processing process.

That is, in the veneer processing method according to the present invention, unnecessary parts of the undried veneer are sequentially removed, and each effective veneer is cut to a fixed length each time the cumulative width of the remaining effective veneer reaches a desired width. The end faces of the piles are piled up close to each other so that the overall width is approximately constant, and then the stack is transferred to the front of the drying device. At any time, two vertically adjacent veneer veneers are locked to each other using locking materials such as adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, wire rods, bonding materials, etc., and each two locked sheets are dried. For example, as illustrated in FIG. 1, vertically adjacent veneers S3 and S4 forming a stack Sm are locked to each other using an adhesive P1, and the locking process is performed using an adhesive P1. Each two sheets are inserted into the drying device E.

According to the above processing method, since the probability that the joints of the effective veneers forming each veneer will match vertically is extremely low, the joints of the respective effective veneers, i.e. , weak points in strength are mutually reinforced, and the two veneers after locking can be handled virtually all at once, making their handling easier than before. As a result, it is possible to save labor in the processing process, improve processing efficiency, and improve the filling rate of the drying equipment. Overall, it becomes possible to significantly streamline the processing process.

That is, the untreated veneer Sa cut by the veneer lace A is transferred to a conveyor 1 by a known continuous cutting device, for example, “Method and Apparatus for Continuous Processing of Veneer” (Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-52887). Detection mechanism 2 that detects unnecessary parts of untreated veneer Sa, and a detection signal from the detection mechanism 2, as disclosed in "Veneer Continuous Processing Apparatus" (Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-23527), etc. Based on this, the passage of the sizing cutting blade 4 and the effective veneer 7b which alternately make one-way detours within the range in contact with the exit side peripheral surface of the conveying bodies 3, 3a, such as a pair of rollers that also serve as blade receivers, is detected. Based on the fixed length signal from the detection integration mechanism 5, the detection integration mechanism 5 rotates one-way alternately within the range in contact with the exit side circumferential surface of the conveyor bodies 6, 6a, such as a pair of rollers that also serve as blade receivers. The veneer is inserted into a continuous cutting device B consisting of a moving fixed-length cutting blade 7, etc., and the unnecessary portions Sc are sequentially removed. Cut to length each time you reach the width (a little less than half the width).

Next, the veneer S cut to a specified length to a desired width is laminated using a known stacking device, such as "high speed processing device for veneer veneer" (Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-5084) and "veneer veneer processing device" (Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 59-5084). 57-187202), a lower conveyor 8 and an upper conveyor 9 are used to alternately convey veneers S of a desired width sequentially delivered from the continuous cutting device B etc. The veneers S are transported to a stacking device C configured by providing a conveyance distance with a distance difference equal to an odd multiple of the desired width, and the two veneers S are stacked at the meeting point of both conveyors 8 and 9. On the way, as illustrated in FIG. 7, for example, a detection controller 18 and an adhesive tank 19 that detect the passage of the veneer S (effective veneer Sb) and issue an operation signal in a timely manner are installed in the stacking device C, The adhesive P1 is dripped onto the upper surface of the veneer S conveyed by the lower conveyor 8 at appropriate intervals, or
As illustrated in the figure, a detection controller 27 detects the passage of the veneer S (effective veneer Sb) and issues an appropriate activation signal.
In addition to the detection controller 18 and the adhesive tank 19, an adhesive injector 28 is further provided in the stacking device C, and each effective veneer Sb forming the veneer S conveyed by the lower conveyor 8 is Adhesive P1 is dripped onto the upper surface of the front edge and the upper surface of the rear edge, and at the same time, the adhesive is applied to the lower surface of the front edge and the lower surface of the rear edge of each effective veneer Sb forming the veneer S that is conveyed by the upper conveyor 9. After injecting P1, the two veneers S are stacked one on top of the other, and the two stacked veneers S are sequentially stacked onto the receiving plate 11 using a known deposition device D having an opening/closing conveyor 10 or the like. According to the above-mentioned processing method, the vertically adjacent veneers S in the stack Sm are separated at appropriate intervals or at the front and rear edges of the effective veneers Sb (see Figure 1). In addition, every two veneers are held together by the adhesive action of the adhesive P1, and since the probability that the seams of the effective veneers forming each veneer S will match vertically is extremely low, As the veneers S are locked together, the joints between the effective veneers of one veneer S, that is, the weak points in terms of strength, are reinforced by the effective veneers of the other veneer S. Two veneers S
can be handled almost all at once, and even if the joints of effective veneers coincide vertically, the probability of matching at multiple locations is extremely low, so Even if the two veneers S are divided into multiple pieces, the minimum number of pieces required will be the minimum number of pieces, and in any case, the ease of handling will be dramatically improved compared to the past, and part of the pile Sm will be cut into pieces. As a result of avoiding the possibility of insertion leakage, it is possible to save labor in the processing process, improve processing efficiency, improve the filling rate of the drying equipment, etc., and it is possible to significantly streamline the processing process as a whole. .

Furthermore, according to the conventional processing method of joining valid veneers that are adjacent to each other on the left and right, if there is a gap between the valid veneers, handling becomes extremely difficult, so unnecessary parts are removed unnecessarily. It is necessary to cut the veneer to match the seam, and if the veneer shrinks unevenly after drying, it will be necessary to cut the veneer accurately again, which increases the complexity of the equipment. However, according to the processing method according to the present invention, if the seams of effective veneers do not match vertically, even if there is a gap at the seam, handling will be difficult. Since there is no risk of deterioration of the properties, there is no need to cut out unnecessary parts excessively or match the seams very precisely, which is effective in terms of veneer yield and simplification of the equipment.

In addition, it is sufficient that the upper and lower veneers reinforce each other when inserted, and there is no problem even if the veneers become unlatched during the drying process. In fact, this is preferable, so that the locking strength of the locking member is not necessary, the locking is relatively simple, and there is no possibility that the locking cost will be extremely high.

Furthermore, if I may mention it, as mentioned above, if you stack two veneers and insert them into the drying device and dry them, it will be more than twice as difficult to dry and the drying process will be faster than when drying each veneer one by one. There was a possibility that the overall drying efficiency would decrease as a result of having to slow down the drying process to less than half, so we confirmed through experiments that reducing the drying process speed made insertion easier.
There is also the secondary effect of further improving the filling rate of the drying equipment, and when processing veneers of medium thickness or less, excluding extremely thick veneers that are inherently difficult to dry, there is a large difference in overall drying processing efficiency. There is no tendency for this to occur, and especially when processing relatively thin veneers, moisture evaporation is good, there is almost no decrease in drying efficiency due to repeated drying, and the weight of the veneer is light. As a result, locking is easier and locking costs can be reduced, and the process is significantly more effective and appropriate than conventional processing methods.

As the adhesive used as the locking member, since the veneer is not dried, it is preferable to use a wet curing adhesive such as a polyurethane adhesive, and if necessary, appropriate impurities may be added to the adhesive. However, according to experiments, when targeting veneers with relatively low moisture content, hot melt emulsion type acetic acid that cures at room temperature can be used. It was also possible to lock using adhesives such as vinyl resin, and although they are usually distinguished from adhesives, they are similar to rubber-based adhesives and hot-melt adhesives that are sticky at room temperature. Locking was also possible using an adhesive such as adhesive.

In addition, when locally locking the veneer using a locking member such as adhesive as in the above embodiment, from a simple locking cost perspective, each It is preferable to lock the four corners of the effective veneer in dots, but for example, there may be cases where a one-piece wide veneer with cracks is mixed in. It is also effective to stop
Alternatively, if necessary, it is possible to lock the veneer S in a linear manner of an appropriate length. It is not impossible to perform locking using the butt end surface.

As another means of locking every two veneers to each other, for example, as illustrated in FIG. By applying the technique disclosed in "Method for Reinforcing Veneer and Veneer Veneer" (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-27263), the elastic body roll 22 is pierce the wire P3 at appropriate intervals between the two veneers S passing through, and penetrate a portion of the wire P3;
Next, for example, by using a method such as heating and deforming the part of the wire P3 penetrated by the heater 25, or applying an adhesive to the penetrated part of the wire P3 and hardening it, although not shown,
By forming a locking part 26 having a larger cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the wire P3 in the part penetrated by the wire P3 (see FIG. 14), every two veneers S are mutually connected. After locking, the wire rod P3 is cut by the wire rod cutting blade 24, and the two locked veneers S are once deposited on the receiving plate 11 one after another by the depositing device D. After that, the pile Sm is transferred to the front of the drying device E, and the locked sheets are inserted into the drying device E every two sheets, in the same manner as in the previous embodiment.
Although it is possible to rationalize the treatment process, it is preferable that the wire has physical properties that soften or dissolve when heated in the drying device E, such as polyethylene fibers or polypropylene fibers. It is.

In addition, in the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, the butt sides of each veneer S are stacked vertically, but for example, in the ``Method for processing sized veneers''
Applying the technology disclosed in Publication No. 49364) etc.,
By reciprocating the receiving plate 11 in the direction of the fibers of the veneer S, or by installing a known width adjustment device at an appropriate position,
By using means such as moving one of the veneers S in the fiber direction, for example, as illustrated in FIG. 12, the end surface of the veneer S is shifted every two veneers S, or as illustrated in FIG. 13, for example. If the end surfaces of the veneers S are stacked by shifting each veneer S, it will be easier to identify every two veneers during insertion, and the insertion will be even smoother, which is effective. It is.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 5, the untreated veneer Sa cut by the veneer lace A is transferred to a known tender processing apparatus, such as a "plywood veneer "Processing method and device" (Special Publication No. 49-32929) and "Tenderizing treatment device for veneer" (Utility Model Publication No. 55-46481)
As disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2003-121033, a pair of tender rolls 13 are formed by fitting an elastic body such as rubber on both circumferential surfaces, or by protruding a large number of small protrusions on one of the circumferential surfaces. 13a, the untreated veneer Sa is subjected to a randrizing treatment.

Next, the veneer was subjected to tenderizing treatment.
Sa is applied to a known cutting device, for example, ``Method for stacking plywood edge veneer after sizing cutting'' (Tokuko Showa).
50-11143), "Method for removing cutting waste in a veneer cutting machine" (Japanese Patent Publication No. 51-22235), "Automatic cutting and sorting device for veneer" (Japanese Patent Publication No. 51-32873), etc. As shown in FIG. The veneer cutting blade 15 moves up and down relative to the conveyor roll 17 which also serves as a blade receiver, and in connection with the operation of the veneer cutting blade 115, the sorting opening/closing function changes the path between the unnecessary portion Sc and the effective veneer Sb. In the process of inserting the body 16 into the cutting processing device G consisting of the body 16, etc., and sequentially cutting off unnecessary parts Sc, and cutting to a fixed length each time the cumulative width of the effective veneer Sb reaches a desired width, for example, as shown in FIG. As illustrated in , in connection with the regular length cutting operation of the veneer cutting blade 15, the pressing of the bonding material P2 for veneer locking and the pressing pause are alternately repeated for every other veneer S. A press roll 20, a bonding material cutting blade 21 that cuts the bonding material P2 when the pressing of the press roll 20 is stopped, and a cutting device G are provided with a bonding material P2 for adhering the bonding material P2 to every other veneer S. After that, the sheets are sequentially deposited on the receiving plate 11 by the depositing device D, and the pile Sm is further transferred to the front of the drying device E, and then the sheets are inserted into the drying device E every two sheets that have been locked. This is what I did.

Even with the above-mentioned configuration, the vertically adjacent veneers S in the stack Sm are locked every two by the bonding action of the bonding material P2, and weak points in the strength of both are reinforced. As a result, the ease of handling is dramatically improved compared to the conventional method, and as a result, it becomes possible to greatly streamline the processing steps as in the above embodiment.

As the bonding material, for example, as shown in FIG. 15, a wet curing adhesive may be applied to the thread 47 made of synthetic fibers at appropriate intervals, or over the entire length of the thread 47 (although not shown). Adhesive thread-like bonding material P2' impregnated and coated with No. 48 or the like, or for example No. 16
As illustrated in the figure, the tape 50 made of paper or the like is applied at appropriate intervals to one side of each side of the tape 50 made of paper or the like, using the perforation 49 for separation as a border, or, although not shown, the tape A bonding material P2 in the form of an irregular double-sided tape, which is coated with a rewetting adhesive 51 or the like over the entire length of each side of both the front and back sides of 50, and also a relatively thick adhesive that allows delamination, although not shown. Between two veneers, such as a double-sided tape-like bonding material, in which a rewetting adhesive or the like is applied at appropriate intervals to both the front and back sides of a paper tape, or over the entire length of both the front and back sides of the paper tape. There is no problem as long as the two veneers can be locked together when the two veneers are inserted, such as those with perforations or those that allow delamination, after insertion or after drying. It would be even more effective if the veneer could be easily separated.

Furthermore, if the continuous bonding material P2 is pasted over the entire width of the veneers S as in the above embodiment, even if the seams of the effective veneers coincide vertically, the two veneers that are locked This has the effect of preventing the phenomenon in which the veneer S is divided into a plurality of pieces, but if necessary, measures such as performing the pressing action of the pressing roll 20 more intermittently, although not shown in the drawings, may be used. It is also possible to intermittently apply the bonding material P2 to every other veneer S to reduce the locking cost and facilitate separation of the veneers in the subsequent process. do not have.

Furthermore, as in the above embodiment, if the untreated veneer is subjected to a tenderizing treatment to promote flattening of the piled piles, bonding, adhesion, and adhesion during stacking will be promoted, resulting in more accurate locking. Although not shown in the figure, there are various mechanisms that have been developed to perform tenderizing treatment on veneer lace, so there is no harm in utilizing them. Then, it is also possible to sort and separate the waste veneers or continuous band-shaped veneers in advance and process them, if necessary.

That is, as is clear from the figure, the storage conveyor 2
The unprocessed veneer Sa stored at 9 is transported to the cutting device G via the transport conveyor 1, and the swing arms 14b of the plurality of rollers 14a forming the detection mechanism 14 are transmitted to the respective detectors 14c. However, when all the contacts 14d are activated and a detection signal is issued to the control mechanism 30, the control mechanism 30 controls the drive mechanism 32 and the actuation mechanism 31 to temporarily stop the carry-in conveyor 1 and the transport rolls 17, and , the veneer cutting blade 15 is moved up and down to cut and remove the unnecessary portion Sc downward, and the sorting opening/closing body 16, which has been waiting in the state indicated by the dotted line, is swung downward, and is then driven by the drive mechanism 32. In the process of sequentially conveying the valid veneers Sb by the nipping conveyor 33 driven by the conveyor roll 17 through the veneers, the adhesive P1 is applied from the adhesive tank 34 to the upper surface of the valid veneer Sb at appropriate intervals. drip.

In other words, as is clear from the figure, untreated veneer
The veneer Sa to be processed is removed via the conveyor 1 by a known cutting processing device, for example, as disclosed in "veneer veneer cutting and stacking device" (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 15167/1983). Based on a detection signal from a detection mechanism (not shown) that detects the width of the veneer and a standard length signal from an integrated cutting mechanism (not shown) that integrates the width of the effective veneer Sb and issues a cutting signal each time the desired width is reached, It consists of a veneer cutting blade 38 that moves up and down with respect to the blade receiver 39, a sorting conveyor 40 that changes the path between the unnecessary portion Sc and the effective veneer Sb in connection with the operation of the veneer cutting blade 38. The veneers Sb are inserted into the cutting device H, and the unnecessary portions Sc are sequentially cut off, and the end faces of the remaining valid veneers Sb are packed together using a known stacking device J having a pricking conveyor 41, a knock-off bar 42, etc. , each time the cumulative width of the effective veneer Sb reaches a desired width and is cut to a fixed length, and the tip reaches the position of the drop-off position detector 44, the actuation mechanism 43 is activated under the control of the control mechanism 45. In the process of raising and lowering the knock-off bar 42 and depositing the veneers S of a desired width on the receiving plate 11 one after another, a detection mechanism 45 is installed at every other veneer 7 to be knocked down.
The adhesive P1 is dripped from the adhesive tank 46 at appropriate intervals under the control of the adhesive tank 46, and the adhesive P1 is stopped at every second veneer during stacking. It is also possible to carry out the processing method according to the present invention even in a step in which end faces are brought together and deposited once.

Furthermore, in the treatment method according to the present invention, since it is sufficient to lock every two vertically adjacent veneers at any time before inserting them into the drying device, it is preferable to lock the veneers after they are piled up. After the veneers are piled up as shown in FIG. 12 without actually locking them, the veneers are stacked two by two onto one end surface of each protruding veneer S as shown in FIG. 18. When we conducted an experiment in which adhesive P1 was applied, locked, and inserted, the first
Although it was not as smooth as when detecting the four corners of each effective veneer in a dotted manner as shown in the figure, it was still effective in practical terms.

As mentioned above, it is preferable that the locking by the locking member is automatically released upon heating in the drying device or conveyance, and it is desirable that the physical properties of the locking member match this. There is no practical problem even if the locking is not necessarily automatically released; for example, the locking may be manually released after drying, or the veneer S may be removed manually as shown in FIG.
The fibers are forcibly released by a separation mechanism K consisting of a carry-out belt 52 that carries out the fibers in the same direction as the fibers, a veneer support roll 53, a belt support member 54, a stopper 55 that allows passage of one veneer, etc. Good luck,
In addition, if the two veneers are locked with their end faces deviated, a pair of upper and lower rolls 56, 5 disposed on the upper side in the conveying direction, as illustrated in FIG.
The conveyance speed of the pair of upper and lower rolls 57, 57a disposed on the downstream side in the conveyance direction is set higher than the conveyance speed of the veneer 6a, and the distance between the rolls 57, 57a and the rolls 56, 56a is It is also possible to forcibly release the lock by using the separation mechanism L which is set to be somewhat longer than the length of S.

Further, the processing method according to the present invention is not necessarily limited to being carried out alone, and may be carried out in combination with the above-mentioned processing method of joining the left and right adjacent effective veneers to each other, or For example, it is disclosed in ``A veneer with reinforced end portion and its manufacturing method'' (Japanese Patent Publication No. 58-56323), ``Method and device for cutting wire for reinforcing veneer'' (Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-19006), etc. The treatment method according to the present invention may be carried out after previously reinforcing an irregularly shaped veneer using a wire or the like by applying a technique such as the above.
