Abstract

PURPOSE:To evade wear and damage of a magnetic head slider or a photomagnetic recording medium, even if a floating force exerted on the magnetic head slider is decreased due to decrease in the relative number of revolution between the photomagnetic recording medium and magnetic head slider. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head slider 2 is provided with a flat slider part having a slit 2a extending to the sliding direction at the center. A magnetic coil 4 and a core 5 are arranged on this slider part, then a generated magnetic field is modulated by the current supplied to the magnetic coil 4. This slider part is constituted of a lubricating graft polymer layer.

ルとコアを配設し、これを回転する光磁気記録媒体に対
向して配設し、両者の間に生じる空気流で磁気ヘッドス
ライダーを光磁気記録媒体上で浮上させている。このた
め、磁気ヘッドスライダーは、光磁気記録媒体が所定の
回転数で回転している場合には空気流の働きで、光磁気
記録・再生装置による記録・再生・消去などの過程で摩
耗損傷することはない。

を有するグラフト重合層で構成するとよい。その具体例
を挙げれば、磁気ヘッドスライダー2を熱硬化性樹脂あ
るいは熱可塑性樹脂、もしくは光硬化性樹脂からモール
ド成形した後、その表面に潤滑性を有し、官能基を有す
るモノマー、例えばフッ素化アクリレート、フッ素化メ
タクリレート、シリコンアクリレート、シリコンメタク
リレート等をグラフト重合を行ない、グラフト重合層を
形成する。このように材料を特定することによる本実施
例の効果を実験の結果から説明する。 [実験例1]磁気ヘッドスライダー2の材料としてポリ
イミド樹脂を用い、ポリイミド樹脂上にフッ素化アクリ
レートをグラフト重合させたものを用いる。ポリイミド
樹脂はモノマーとしてジアミン、例えば、2,2’−ビ
ス(トリメチル)−4,4’−ジアミノビフェニルを用
い、また、酸二無水物、例えばピロメリット酸二無水物
を用いる。ここでは、上記2種類のポリイミド成分をモ
ノマー段階で混合し、共重合体として使用する。さら
に、この樹脂で形成された磁気ヘッドスライダー2をフ
ッ素化アクリレート液中に浸漬し、UV光を照射するこ
とで、フッ素化アクリレートグラフト重合層を磁気ヘッ
ドスライダー2の表面に形成する。
