Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an agent for controlling noxious life in wood, exhibiting improved wettability and permeating property and moderate fixability in wood and having excellent durability of the activity and low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:The objective noxious life controlling agent for wood contains (A) a noxious life controlling component consisting of an antiseptic component having low toxicity, soluble in oil and effective for the control of wood-decay bacteria and fungi, an insecticidal component having low toxicity, soluble in oil and effective for the control of wood vermin such as long-horned beetle and termite and their mixture and (B) an acrylic polymer, preferably polymethyl acrylate, polyethyl (meth)acrylate or polybutyl methacrylate having a molecular weight of 40,000-50,000. The amount of the component B is 0.05-5 pts.wt., especially 0.2-1.5 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the component A. The antiseptic component is e.g. halopropargyl, haloallyl, trihalophenol, amide or organotin antiseptic and the insecticide component is e.g. organic phosphorus, pyrethroidal or carbamate insecticide.

-2-Propenyl ethylcarbonate (A-1) and p-chlorophenyl-3-iodopropargylformal (A-2) were used, and chlorpyrifos (B-1) and propentampos (B-2) were used as insect repellents. Used as an acrylic polymer,
PEB-4002 (Nippon Oil & Fats Co., Ltd .: C-1) was used, and Sanimal-CPK (Nippon Emulsifier Co., Ltd.), an emulsifier: a mixture of polyoxyethylene styryl phenyl ether and calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate: D- Using 1), oil solutions and emulsions having the components shown in Table 1 were prepared. Thick oil 5mm, width 20mm, length 40mm to this undiluted solution or emulsion diluted 20 times with water.
The Japanese cedar or beech wood pieces were dipped for 5 seconds, air-dried, and then the weathering operation consisting of the following leaching and volatilization operations was repeated 7 or 14 times. For the leaching operation, the same treatments were put together, and soaked in still water at 25 ± 3 ° C. for 5 hours so as not to come into contact with each other, and the leached portion was leached. The volume ratio of water to the test body was set to 10: 1, and fresh water was replaced each time the operation was repeated. For the volatilization operation, the test specimen that had been subjected to the leaching operation was lightly drained and immediately placed in a circulating dryer at a temperature of 40 ± 2 ° C for 19 hours.
It was left to stand for a time to volatilize. Then, it was dried at 60 ± 2 ° C. for 48 hours using a circulation dryer, and the antiseptic component and insect repellent component in the wood chips were measured. The results are shown in Table 2.

[Test Example 2] A cedar or beech wood piece (2 × 4 × 0.5 cm) whose mouth end surface was sealed with an epoxy resin was treated with the oil solution undiluted solution shown in Table 1 of Test Example 1 or an emulsion diluted 20 times with water to 110 ±. A test piece was obtained by applying to 10 g / m 2 . This test piece was tested in accordance with the preservative efficacy test method of Japan Wood Preservation Association Standard No. 1 described below. (1) Weather resistance operation In the weather resistance operation, the operation of leaching and the operation of volatilization were alternately repeated 30 times.
After the weathering operation was completed, the test body was dried at 60 ± 2 ° C. for 48 hours in a circulating dryer and then left in a desiccator for about 30 minutes to weigh it (W 3 ) up to 0.01 g.

I've been there for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, remove the specimen, carefully remove the mycelium and other adhered substances on the surface, air-dry for about 24 hours, and then dry in a circulating dryer at a temperature of 60 ± 2 ° C for 48 hours,
After leaving it in the desiccator for 30 minutes, its weight (W 4 ) is 0.01
