[Detailed description of the invention] [Field of industrial application] The present invention is a manual method for wrapping a binding steel band around an object to be bound, tightening it, and joining the overlapping parts of the binding steel band by spot welding. The present invention relates to an improvement of a welding binding machine, and more specifically, to an improvement of its spot welding mechanism.

As for the manual welding tying machine (sometimes specifically referred to as a welding type tying tool) as mentioned above, the banding steel band tightening device as seen in its predecessor, Japanese Patent Publication No. 14039/1983, was used to correct the tying device. The binding steel strip that is rolled out is wrapped around the object to be bound,
A spot welding mechanism is placed at a position where the starting end overlaps with the following part, and the starting end is grasped by the steel band clamping mechanism, and at the same time, the lower electrode is inserted under the overlapping steel band so as to face the pressurizing electrode. Then, reverse the bundled steel band feeding and tightening device to pull back the bundled steel band, apply even stronger tightening force to bind it, strongly pressurize it with a pressure electrode while supporting the bundled band with a counter electrode, and apply electricity to the spot. They are firmly joined by welding, and after the welding is completed, the counter electrode interposed under the binding steel strip is removed by itself by this unit of the binding head, and the subsequent surplus steel band is cut to complete one cycle of binding work. Finally, there was an automatic tying machine (a stationary type in which all tying operations are automatically performed by a control means).

However, the objects to be bound, which are the objects of the bundling work, are not necessarily those that can be used by this automatic bundling machine. The objects to be bound are in the same position, and it is natural that the binding method is preferably carried out by bringing the binding machine to the objects to be bound. For this reason, a manual welding binding machine that can be carried freely and is convenient to carry is necessary. It has been requested.

Of course, manual binding tools that use a seal sealing method instead of welding have been widely used in the past, but the method of joining the overlapped parts of steel strip binding by welding has an extremely economical merit in the binding work. After the purchase, the demand for a manual welding and binding machine was even higher.

Therefore, we came up with the idea of creating a manual welding binding machine by separating the bundling steel strip feeding and tightening mechanism (including the clamping mechanism and cutting mechanism) and the spot welding mechanism, but the problems that arise here are as follows: The first is that there is no space to insert the lower electrode of the spot welding mechanism between the binding steel strip and the object to be bound, and the second is that even if the first problem is solved, The base of the feeding and tightening mechanism is tied to the object to be bound by the steel band, making it difficult to remove it manually. The third problem is that the lower electrode is thick, so it is difficult to remove it manually. It is difficult to insert the binding between them, and it is also difficult to remove it after binding, and even if it is removed, the effect of the strong tightening is offset by the loosening after it is removed. That's the point.

Therefore, the inventors of the present invention conducted intensive experimental research and found that by making the lower electrode a composite material, it could be made thinner while maintaining the necessary strength and electrical properties, leading to the achievement of the present invention. It is ivy.

As is well known, the good conductivity of copper and the strong mechanical properties of steel have been skillfully utilized to create an extremely slim lower electrode, making the lower electrode thinner than conventional ones. It is about 1/2 of the original value, therefore. It is extremely easy to insert the lower electrode under the bundled steel band, and it naturally makes it easier to remove the lower electrode from the lower side of the bundled steel band after tightening the bundle. Also, the degree of tightness that is the objective of the binding work can be satisfied to some extent.

In addition, the lower electrode as a composite material requires various conditions, namely, that the strength of hardened steel is at least 5 times that of copper, and that the good conductivity of copper is as long as the strength is sufficient. It has been demonstrated that the thickness can be significantly reduced, and therefore, considering strength and conductivity, it can be slimmed down to about half the conventional thickness, making it possible to apply it in an extremely thin form as a lower electrode. It has become.

FIG. 1 shows a plan view of a spot welding mechanism (hereinafter simply referred to as the present welding mechanism) 50 of the manual welding and binding machine of the present invention in relation to a manual binding machine (shown in phantom lines) to which the present welding mechanism 50 is applied. , is shown in FIG. 2 as a sectional view taken along the -' arrow in FIG. 1, and further shown in FIG. 3 as a sectional view taken in the direction -' arrow in FIG. 10. The friction type feeding and tightening mechanism 10 overlaps two binding steel bands K at the starting end and the trailing part between the triangular toothed feed wheel 11 and the base 12, so that only the upper trailing steel band K is stacked. Configured to pull back and tighten.

The spot welding mechanism 50 is aligned on the line of the steel binding strip K so that the lower electrode 51 is disposed below the overlapping part of the steel binding strip K, and the upper electrode 52 is disposed above the overlapping part of the steel binding strip K.
The bundled steel strips K are constructed as a single unit so that the overlapping portions are joined by spot welding.

As shown in a perspective view in FIG. 4, the lower electrode 51 has steel 51 on both sides to reinforce the copper 51A.

Further, the upper electrode 52 is moved up and down by an air cylinder 55, and as it descends, it clamps and pressurizes the binding steel strip K between it and the lower electrode 51. A handle 56 for operating the air cylinder, a switch 57 for energizing the electrode, and a handle 58 for carrying are attached.

Note that the lower electrode 5 shown in FIG. 4 as a perspective view
1 is based only on copper 51A, since copper 51A has good conductivity but mechanical properties are weak, as can be well understood from the cross-sectional views in Figures 2 and 3. The structure would naturally be thick, but by constructing it as a composite material with steel 51B, it is extremely slim and strengthened.Incidentally, the lower electrode 51 of the conventional example shown in FIG. This means that the wall thickness can be approximately half that of the previous one. This is well understood from the fact that the strength of copper is about 1/5 of that of hardened steel. In addition, the conductivity required for spot welding is sufficiently maintained even when the copper thickness is approximately half, and it is noteworthy that it is applied in the form of a composite material as such an excellent lower electrode 51. It has important characteristics.

Now, the operation of the present welding mechanism 50 will be described. First, the object to be bound C (see Fig. 3) is circled by the binding steel band K to form a closed loop, and then the overlapping part of the starting end and the trailing part of the binding steel band K is connected to the base 12 and the triangular toothed hook. The material to be bound C is clamped by the feed wheel 11 and rotated by the triangular toothed feed wheel 11 to be strongly tightened in the direction of arrow P.
