Description
【０００１】
本考案は、ウエブどうしを継ぎ足すのに用いる継ぎ足し用テープに関する。
【０００２】
図３において、走行中の旧ウエブ１０の終端近くにロール巻きした新たな新ウ エブ１１の巻尻端を継ぎ足すについては、新ウエブ１１の巻尻端部の外表面に、 両面テープからなる継ぎ足し用テープ１を貼り付けておくことになる。そして旧 ウエブ１０の走行速度に対して新ウエブ１１の周面速度が実質的に一致したとき 、押圧ローラ１２を作動させて旧ウエブ１０の終端近くを前記テープ１を介して 新ウエブ１１に接合する。 これで問題となるのは、ロール巻きした新ウエブ１１は周面速度が立ち上がる まで回転させてあり、押圧ローラ１２が作動したとき、前記テープ１がいかにし て押圧ローラ１２と対向する位置に来るように設定するかにある。
【０００３】 この継ぎ足し用テープ１の位置を正しく検出するために、図４に示すごとくテ ープ基材２の片面に金属箔１５を接着剤１６を介して積層したうえで、両面に粘 着剤層４・５を塗布形成することが、実公平３−４３２１８号公報に公知である 。 また別に、図５に示すごとく金属繊維を混抄した紙基材２の両面に粘着剤層４ ・５を塗布形成した継ぎ足し用テープ１も、実公平３−３９４７２号公報に公知 である。なお、図中の１７は剥離紙である。 これらはいずれも金属探知機で新ウエブ１１上における継ぎ足し用テープ１の 位置を検出して、押圧ローラ１２の作動タイミングを制御するのに用いることが できる。

しかし、前出の実公平３−４３２１８号公報の従来例ではテープ基材２に金属 箔１５を別に貼合しており、材料的にも製作コストが高くつく。前出の実公平３ −３９４７２号公報も、テープ基材２が金属繊維を混抄した紙からなり、これ自 体も特別なもので高価につく。 そこで本考案の目的は、同じように金属探知機を用いるウエブの継ぎ足し用テ ープでありながら、従来例に比べて飛躍的に安価に製作するにある。

本考案のウエブ継ぎ足し用テープは、図１に示すごとくテープ基材２の表裏両 面に、粘着剤層４・５が形成されており、粘着剤層４・５の少なくとも一方に金 属粉３が混入されていることを要件とする。

本考案のウエブ継ぎ足し用テープ１は、いわゆる両面接着テープとなっている ので、これの一側面側を図２に示すごとく新ウエブ１１の巻尻端の外周面にウエ ブ幅方向に貼る。 かくして新ウエブ１１を回転させると、これの外側に配した金属探知機が粘着 剤層中の金属粉３に応答してテープ１の位置を正しく検出する。

かかる本考案では、金属検知機が反応キャッチできる金属粉を粘着剤層中に混 入するだけである。つまり金属粉入りの粘着剤をテープ基材に塗布するだけで足 り、材料コストおよび製作コストも必要最小限で済み、使い捨てに適っている。

図１は本考案に係るウエブの継ぎ足し用テープ１の実施例を示しており、不織 布製のテープ基材２の表裏両面にアルミの金属粉３を混入した粘着剤層４・５を 塗布形成してある。そして、テープ本体６の表裏の一側面に剥離紙７を貼合して なり、該剥離紙７を介してロール巻きされる。 すなわち、粘着剤層４・５は金属粉３を混入した粘着剤をテープ基材２の両面 に塗布することにより形成した。
【０００９】 かかる本考案の継ぎ足し用テープ１は、これをロール巻きした状態から順に繰 り出し、所定長さに切断して図２に示すごとくロール巻きされた新ウエブ１１の 巻尻端に一側面を貼合する。このとき剥離紙７は既に剥ぎ取られている。 次に新ウエブ１１を先の図３に示すごとくセットし、これを回転させながら金 属探知機でテープ１の位置を金属粉３により検出することになる。
【００１０】 なお、上記の実施例では両側の粘着剤層４・５に金属粉３を混入させたが、粘 着剤層４・５の一方にのみ金属粉３を混入してあってもよい。テープ基材２も不 織布に代えて紙としてもよい。
