[発明が解決しようとする問題点] しかし、従来の連鋳機においては次のような種々の問題

ル板を別位置にて加熱し、その加熱したシール板を連鋳
機に差込み等によって設置した後、注湯を開始するよう
にしている。しかし、この方式においては、第3図中破
線で示すように加熱したサイドシール板が、連鋳機に設
置して注湯を開始するまでに冷えてしまい、このために
注湯開始時に凝固殻の異常成長による板破断、湯もれ等
が生じる問題があった。又、この際、薄板の連続鋳造を
行うときは、注湯の量が少量であるために、前記の影響

にした冷却ノズル5を設けると共に、上記加熱ノズル4
及び冷却ノズル5の切替とその温度調整を行う切替調整
装置6を設け、更に前記サイドシール板3にその温度を
検出するための熱電対等の温度センサー7を埋設し、該
温度センサー7の検出温度に応じて設定温度信号Sに基
づき前記切替調整装置6の制御を行う制御装置8を設け
て、サイドシール板温度調節装置を構成している。図中
9は前記サイドシール板3の加熱、冷却効果を高めるよ
うにサイドシール板3に沿って設けたカバーを示し、又
10はサイドシール板3と共に冷却ロール1,2上に湯溜り1
1を形成する堰、12は燃焼管、13は冷却流体管、14は鋳

を防止し、且つ連続運転時におけるサイドーシル板の過
熱による鋳片のエッジブレークの発生を防止することが
でき、よって薄板連続鋳造の生産性の向上と安全性の向
