シャドウマスク1はスプリングバックにより直角に曲げ
られた位置3a間の寸法Laとスカート端部3b間の寸
法Lbとの関係がLa<Lbとなってしまい、マスクフ
レームの内径寸法LcはほぼLa=Lcなのでシャドウ
マスク1とマスクフレーム4を組合わせるのが非常に難
しくなる。すなわち、シャドウマスク1をマスクフレー
ム4に嵌合しずらくなる。また、マスクの曲面部に局部
的な変形2cがあると、使用時に振動が生じ電子ビーム
が正規の蛍光体に射突せず画像の品位を低下させること

本発明のシャドウマスク構体の製造方法は、円形又はス

てほぼ直角に曲げられたスカート部からなるシャドウマ
スクを形成する工程と、前記シャドウマスクを治具に保
持しマスクフレームの内側に嵌合させ固着させる工程と

(c)のように直角に曲げられた位置間の寸法Laと同
寸法のマスクチャック7をスカート端部の位置まで下降
する。シャドウマスク1をマスクチャック7でチャッキ
ングした状態で上昇させ、第1図(d)のようにオスプ
ラテン5をはずす。この時シャドウマスク1はスカート
端部間の寸法Lbと直角に曲げられた位置間の寸法La
との差分のスプリング耐力により充分にチャッキングさ
れる。次に第1図(e)に示すようにマスクフレーム4
をフレームガイド8にセットする。第1図(f)のよう
にマスクチャック7にチャックされたシャドウマスクを
下降させる。第1図(g)のようにメスプラテン6をさ
らに下降させてシャドウマスク1をマスクフレーム4に
嵌合する。最後に第1図(n)に示すようにマスクチャ
ック7とメスプラテン6が上昇しシャドウマスク1とマ

でをすべで自動挿入にしたので、従来はシャドウマスク
とフレームの組合わせ中によく生じたシャドウマスクの
変形をほとんど無くすことができる。更に本発明では、
組成作業中にシャドウマスクの内面は常に下向きに設定
しているので、微小な降下塵埃がシャドウマスク内面に
溜り後工程で不良原因となるということも生じない。そ
の上本発明の組立装置は構造が簡単なので精度を維持し

反対側からLaとほぼ等しい寸法を有するメスプラテン
で挟み、その状態でシャドウマスクを内側寸法がほぼL
aに等しいマスクチャックに挿入し、オスプラテンを引
き抜いた後、Laとほぼ等しい内側寸法を有するフレー
ムをシャドウマスクを受け入れる形でマスクチャック真
下に配置した後、メスプラテンでシャドウマスクを押す
ことによりマスクチャックからフレームにシャドウマス
クを移動させ挿入させることを特徴とするシャドウマス
