An adapter used for a container of a type in which a liquid inlet and outlet are closed by a screw-type cap, wherein an upper surface of the cap portion has a male screw portion on the outer periphery and an inner hole communicating with the inside and outside of the cap portion. A tubular joint is formed by projecting a tubular portion, and on the upper side of the inner hole of the tubular portion, two taper hole portions having a large diameter steep taper hole portion on the upper side and a small diameter gentle taper hole portion on the lower side are formed in the socket of the pipe joint. Alternatively, a base insertion hole for inserting the insertion cylinder provided in either one of the bases of the plugs is provided, and further, in the insertion cylinder provided in the base of the socket or the plug, the large-diameter steep taper hole is provided. A cap nut that has a large-diameter taper part that allows close surface contact and a small-diameter part that comes into contact with a small-diameter loose taper hole, and has a female thread with the same thread pitch as the above screw-on cap.
