Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly apply the low viscosity liquid type of lubricating oil to the whole peripheral surface of an insulated wire by spraying the lubricating oil into a semi-closed case as a mixture with gas, and causing the wire to travel through atomized lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A spray nozzle 2 is provided on a semi-closed transparent vessel 3 having a totally closed structure except for a slit form of passage, and lubricating oil 5 mixed with gas is atomized and sprayed into the vessel 3. A baffle 21 is laid in the vessel 3 and a discharge port 20 is formed on the bottom of the vessel 2, thereby maintaining a uniform spraying condition. Then, an insulated wire 1 is caused to travel in the atomized lubricating oil via the passage. As a result, the lubricating oil 5 can be applied thinly and uniformly to the whole surface of the wire 1.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method for applying a lubricating oil to an insulated wire.

2. Description of the Related Art An insulated wire such as an enamel wire is coated with a lubricating oil to prevent surface damage during handling of the wire. A small amount of lubricating oil may be applied to this surface, and therefore it is required to provide a thin and uniform coating layer on the surface of the wire.

As an example of a conventional coating apparatus, there is a felt suction method as shown in FIG. 2, for example. In this coating device, the lubricating oil 6 is put in the pot 7, and the lubricating oil is sucked up and supplied to the felt 9 through the cotton thread 8 by utilizing the capillary phenomenon, and the insulated wire 1 is passed through the cut 9a of the felt 9. Alternatively, the insulating wire 1 is passed through the joint between the two felts to apply the lubricating oil to the surface of the insulating wire 1.

However, in this felt suction method,
The amount of lubricant absorbed by the felt is the material of the felt,
It depends on the density of felt and the thickness of felt.
It is possible to supply a fixed amount of lubricating oil if the type and size of felt are combined properly, but there is concern about stable fixed amount supply over a long period of time. This is because the coating amount changes due to the fluctuation of the contact pressure of the wire to the felt, or the felt surface changes due to contact with the twisted wire during long-term use, and the suction amount also changes. There is also a drawback that the size and shape of the felt must be changed according to the change in line size and line speed. Furthermore, if the felt fiber is thick with respect to the ultrafine wire, there is a problem that uniform coating is difficult because the coating amount changes each time the contact position with the felt changes.

Many roll coating methods and brush coating methods have been proposed in order to solve the problems of the felt suction method.

For example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-80061 discloses a method in which a highly viscous lubricating oil for a bobbin with a brush is supplied, and the wire is passed while being slightly pressed against the brush to uniformly apply the lubricating oil to the wire. Is proposed.

Here, the lubricating oil 6 is put in the oil tank 10, the lower half of the coating roller 11 is immersed in the lubricating oil 6, and the insulating wire 1 is passed while contacting the upper surface of the coating roller 11. To apply the lubricating oil 6.

According to this method, the amount of coating can be controlled arbitrarily, and the change of material of the coating roller 11 due to aging is not considered realistically, and stable coating can be performed for a long time. However, even in the roll coating method, it is difficult to apply an appropriate amount because the coating amount is too large.
This method also has a problem that it is generally difficult to apply it uniformly over the entire circumference of the line.

As a roll type coating device for coating a thin line with a liquid lubricating oil, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 2-60394 discloses a coating roll whose surface is provided with a fine groove so that the liquid lubricating oil can be applied even at a low roll rotation speed. A coating device that can coat a small amount has been proposed. Further, Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-43807 proposes a roll type coating device comprising a gear-shaped rotating roller, a first grooveless rotating roller, a second grooveless rotating roller, and a grooved rotating roller. In this coating device, the liquid lubricating oil pumped up by the gear-shaped rotating roller is spread by the first and second grooveless rotating rollers and spread on the line by the last grooved rotating roller to apply a small amount of liquid lubricating oil. Adjustable application.

The above object can be achieved by the method of applying lubricating oil to an insulating wire according to the present invention. That is, the lubricating oil mixed with gas and atomized is blown into a semi-enclosed case that is closed except for the passage for introducing and passing the insulated wire, and the insulated wire is passed through the atomized lubricating oil. A method of applying lubricating oil to an insulated wire is characterized by applying lubricating oil to the entire surface of the insulated wire.

In the insulated wire production line of the present invention, the lubricant oil is applied immediately before winding the insulated wire. Further, although the application by spraying poses a problem of environmental pollution due to the scattering of the application liquid, the application of the present invention is carried out in a semi-enclosed case, and therefore does not harm the environment.

A baffle plate 21 is arranged in the transparent container 3 so that the sprayed lubricating oil is evenly distributed in the container and is evenly applied onto the insulating wire 1. An exhaust port is provided at the bottom of the container 3 to keep the concentration of the spray lubricating oil in the transparent container 3 constant, and at the same time prevent the spray lubricating oil from leaking to the outside. The baffle plate 21 described above prevents the spray from the spray nozzle 2 from being exhausted directly from the exhaust port.

As the spray nozzle 2 of the coating apparatus of the present invention, a spray nozzle capable of adjusting the supply amounts of the lubricating oil 5 and the gas is used. This measure also contributes to the uniform concentration of the sprayed lubricating oil in the transparent container 3 and the uniform application on the insulating wire 1.
