Description

The present invention relates to an IC P-MS heating vaporizer for heating and atomizing a microliter sample of a microliter and then introducing it into an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). is there.
【0002】[0002]
The conventional ICP-MS heating vaporizer is shown in FIG. The sample boat 1 for mounting a minute sample 11 for analysis is made of a heating element. Both ends of the sample boat 1 are connected to the electrodes 2 and 2, and a current flows through the sample boat 1. The current causes the sample boat 1 to generate heat, and the sample 11 is heated and vaporized. Both ends of the sample boat 1 and the electrodes 2 and 2 are fixed by pressing plates 3 and 3. The electrodes 2 and 2 are fixedly attached to the base 6 via the insulating support 9 by the electrode pressing plate 4.
【0003】[0003]
However, in the conventional heating vaporizer for ICP mass spectrometry, when a current is applied to the sample boat 1, the sample boat 1 generates heat, and the heat generation also heats the electrodes 2 and 2. Therefore, the sample boat 1 and the electrodes 2 and 2 undergo thermal expansion. Due to these thermal expansions, a reaction in the compression direction (horizontal compression direction in FIG. 2) is generated in the sample boat 1. In general, the sample boat 1 having low mechanical strength could not withstand the compressive stress and was often broken.
Therefore, the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks. That is, an object of the present invention is to prevent the sample boat 1 from being damaged by thermal expansion of the electrodes 2 and 2 and the sample boat 1 when the temperature is raised.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a sample boat for mounting a small sample for analysis and an electrical connection between both ends of the sample boat. An electrode having a structure that is connected and is capable of expanding and contracting in the longitudinal direction in order to absorb thermal expansion in the longitudinal direction of the sample boat; a pressing plate that fixes both ends of the sample boat and the electrode; The heating vaporizer for ICP mass spectrometry comprises a base that supports electrodes through an insulating support material.
【0006】[0006]
In the heating vaporizer for an ICP mass spectrometer configured as described above, a current flows through the sample boat between the pair of electrodes, and the sample boat is electrically heated by its own electrical resistance. This heat causes thermal expansion of the sample boat. The thermal expansion of this sample boat is absorbed by the expandable structure provided at both ends or one side, and the sample boat is free from the stress in the compressive direction that would cause damage. The life of the boat can be extended.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 1, a sample boat 1 is provided with a recess at the center for mounting a small sample, and both ends thereof are electrically connected to electrodes 2 and 2. Grooves 5 are alternately formed in the electrodes 2 and 2 in the opposite direction, so that the electrodes 5 can expand and contract in the left-right (horizontal) direction in the drawing. Further, both ends of the sample boat 1 are fixed to the electrodes 2 and 2 by pressing plates 4 and 4 and screws 7 and 7, respectively. In general, refractory metals such as tungsten and tantalum and Clafite materials are used for the sample boat 1, and these are generally brittle materials and are easily damaged by a small stress.
The electrodes 2 and 2 are supported by an insulating support 9 and fixed to a base 6 by bolts 8. An electrode pressing plate 4 is interposed between the electrodes 2 and 2 and the bolts 8 and 8. Lead wires 10 and 10 are connected to the end surfaces of the electrodes 2 and 2. Power is supplied to the lead wires 10 and 10 by a power source (not shown) to the sample boat 1 via the electrodes 2 and 2.
The sample boat 1 is electrically heated by the electric power. The electrodes 2 and 2 have their ends fixed by the insulating supports 9 and 9, but have a shape due to the thermal expansion of the sample boat 1 due to the plurality of grooves 5 formed in the electrodes 2 and 2. The dimensional variation can be easily absorbed, and the extremely stable function can be maintained.
In this embodiment, the plurality of grooves 5 are provided in both the pair of electrodes 2, 2, but the plurality of grooves 5 may be provided in only one of the electrodes 2.
