Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method for finishing cast-coated paper, and more particularly to a method for finishing double-sided cast-coated paper which is excellent in white paper gloss, has excellent surface properties, and has no difference between front and back sides without impairing bulkiness and rigidity. It is a thing.

Description of the Related Art A high-gloss coated paper for printing called cast coated paper is formed by coating a base paper with an aqueous pigment paint containing a pigment and an adhesive as a main component to form a cast coated layer. It is manufactured by pressing the cast coating layer onto a heated metal mirror drum and drying.

Wet cast method in which the wet coating layer is pressed directly onto the heating drum surface to give a gloss finish, gelling casting method where the wet coating layer is brought into a gel state and pressed against the heating drum surface to give a gloss finish, wet state There is known a rewet casting method or the like in which the coating layer is once dried, then plasticized by rewetting and pressed against the surface of the heating drum.

A method is employed in which this is wound up once, or continuously applied again to the opposite surface thereof with the same coating solution as described above, and is pressed and dried on a heating drum to finish gloss on both sides.

To evaporate, and the heat and moisture at that time extremely reduce the smoothness and gloss of the precast surface formed at a corner. For this reason, the difference between the front and the back becomes significant in the quality of the white paper, and it is not possible to obtain a good cast paper without the front and back.

However, these methods, on the other hand, impair the advantages of cast coated paper, which are low density, bulky, and high in rigidity.

We have found a way to introduce technology. That is, the surface of the coating layer after the casting process is humidified and heated by applying a mild heating steam at a low pressure and then at 100 ° C.
By performing the soft calendering process as described above, it is possible to enhance gloss and homogeneity of glossiness without impairing the bulkiness and rigidity of the cast coated paper as in the super calendering process or the simple soft calendering process in the conventional method. It is about trying to get the surface.

For example, Japanese Patent Application No. 3-356324, 16907
The device described in 8,166175 can be used. At this time, the pressure of the heated steam is 1 kg / cm 2 or less, and the steam flow rate can be operated in the range of 15 to 80 kg / Hr / m.

なおスピードは50m/分にて加工した。 Example 1 100 parts of kaolin, dispersant (sodium polyacrylate)
0.3 part was dispersed in water using a Choles disperser to prepare a pigment slurry having a solid content concentration of 60%. 0.5 parts of antifoaming agent (tributyl phosphate), 5 parts of mold release agent (ammonium stearate), 10 parts of 15% solid casein solution (solid content) as adhesive, styrene.
15 parts (solid content) of butadiene copolymer latex (SN-307 manufactured by Sumitomo Nogatac Co., Ltd.) were added, and water was further added to prepare a coating liquid having a solid content of 50%. A 5% calcium formate solution containing 0.3% of a release agent (ammonium stearate) was prepared as a gelling solution. Gelling cast was performed using the obtained coating liquid. That is, the basis weight is 70 g /
25 m 2 of dry coated weight of m 2 cast base paper
The above coating liquid was coated by a roll coater so that the coating layer would be g / m 2, and then contacted with a gelling liquid to gel the coating layer. Then, it was pressed against a rubber-coated press roll with a diameter of 750 mm and a cast drum with a surface temperature of 90 ° C. and a diameter of 3000 mm, and after drying, it was peeled from the cast drum with a take-off roll to obtain a cast coated paper on one side, and then the other side. The same operation was performed to obtain a double-sided cast coated paper.
The speed was 50 m / min.
