【構成】 本発明は抗酸化物を生成する微生物を培養

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、微生物を用いた機能性
セラミックスの製造に関する。

【従来の技術】機能性のセラミックスの製造には、セラ
ミックス内部の物理的構造を中心とするものと触媒機能
を持つ物質を混和し焼成したものと、その両者の折中的
なものや、あらかじめ多孔質に焼成したものに微生物や
触媒などを吸着させる方法がとられている。その中でも
微生物や酵素を吸着させたバイオセラミックスは時間の
経過とともに微生物の密度に変動が生じたり、pHや温
度が大幅に変動した場合は、その機能を十分に維持でき
ないという短所があり、より安定した生物機能を持つセ
ラミックスの開発が望まれていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の機能性セラミッ
クスの製造方法は、あらかじめ培養した抗酸化物質を生
成する微生物を粘土とよく混和し、500℃以上で焼成
し任意に成型することを特徴とするものである。

機酸、アミノ酸、タンパク質等であるが、特定な物質で
はない。すなわち、それらの微生物培養液をろ過した後
にその液に釘や鉄粉などの錆やすい金属を入れても、数
日以上も錆びない防錆力がある場合、抗酸化物質が生成
されたと判断するものである。

するようになるが、汚水の処理や有機物の分解等につい
ては、2種以上の微生物を組み台わせて焼成することが
望ましい。

【0010】それらのセラミックスは、アルコール発
酵、有機酸の生成、タンパク質のアミノ酸化などの多様
な応用が可能であるが、一方において、粉末状または顆
粒状にして土壌に施用すると、植物の生育を促進した
り、また、悪臭を消す力や汚水を浄化する機能も有して
いる。このように、本発明は抗酸化物の存在の下に微生
物の持つ情報を粘土に鋳型的に転写し、生物触媒機能を
付加し得るため、物質の酸化還元反応や有機物質の発酵
的分解など幅広い応用が可能である。

- 抗酸化物を生成する微生物を培養し、その培養液と粘土
を混和し、500℃以上で焼き上げることを特徴とする
