Abstract

PURPOSE:To solve a problematical point, tilting a ball without obtaining a sufficient flow characteristic and worsening durability, by forming a spherical external surface, brought into contact with a valve seat of a ball body having an L-shaped or T-shaped flow path, into a symmetrical shape relating to the center of rotation. CONSTITUTION:When a ball body 2 is rotated, its flow path port 2a comes to appear in valve seats 3, 4, to generate no force between the ball body 2 and the valve seats 3, 4. Further in the ball body 2 having an L-shaped flow path, a plane 2b is formed to symmetrically form a spherical external surface relating to a line of the center of rotation, and the plane 2b, which is a symmetrical part relating to a line of the center of rotation of a ball part not in contact with the valve seats 3, 4 by the flow path port 2a, is also similarly not brought into contact with the valve seats 3, 4, to give balanced force to the ball body 2. By contact with the valve seats 3, 4, force given to the ball body 2 is balanced always symmetrical relating to a line of the center of rotation, to generate no action tilting the ball body 2.

2. Description of the Related Art In a ball valve having a structure called a floating ball type or a seat supported type, when the ball valve is fully closed, the ball slightly moves to the downstream side due to fluid pressure and is pressed against a valve seat on the downstream side to be closed. And
The ball is supported by a pair of valve seats, but is not fixed to the stem and may tilt. Especially, the angle type 2
When an L-shaped or T-shaped flow path is formed in a ball, such as a horizontal or vertical 3- or 4-way ball valve, the ball tends to tilt and a sufficient flow rate characteristic can be obtained. However, the durability may be impaired, which is a problem.

FIG. 10 is a transverse cross-sectional view showing the same cross-section as FIG. 9 when the ball 22 is rotated clockwise by approximately 45 degrees from the state shown in FIGS. 8 and 9. In this cross section, the ball 22 is in contact with the valve seat 23 at two points in the drawing and at one point in the drawing with the valve seat 24, and when the ball 22 rotates, these balls 23 and 24 are in contact with each other. The compressive force generated at the contact location of the ball 22 is applied to the ball 22. However, the forces at the contact points at the upper right and lower left in the figure are balanced because they are symmetrical with respect to the center line of rotation of the ball 22, but the forces at the contact points on the upper left are balanced. There is no reaction force to do. As a result, an unbalanced force is applied to the ball 22, which eventually tilts the ball 22.

FIG. 11 is a vertical sectional view of an example of a conventional horizontal type three-way ball valve, FIG. 12 is a vertical sectional view showing a section FF of FIG. 11, and FIG. 13 is a section G of FIG. FIG. 13 is a transverse cross-sectional view showing a −G cross section, which corresponds to the HH cross section in FIG. 12. Reference numeral 31 is a body, 32 is a ball, 33 and 34 are valve seats, and 35 is a stem, and they enter from the front side of FIG. 11 (not shown), the left side of FIG. 12, and the lower inlet port 31a of FIG. The fluid flows out from the right outlet 31b and the left outlet 31c in FIGS. 11 and 13. When the stem 35, and hence the ball 32, is rotated clockwise by approximately 90 degrees, the stem 35 stops flowing out of the right outlet 31b in FIG. 11 and FIG. 13 and flows out only from the left outlet 31c. 35
Therefore, when the ball 32 is rotated approximately 90 degrees counterclockwise, it does not flow out from the left outlet 31c in FIGS. 11 and 13, but only flows out from the right outlet 31b.

Since the present invention is configured as described above, when the ball main body of the ball valve rotates, the flow passage port of the ball main body faces the valve seat, and in this portion, the valve seat does not exert a force on the ball main body. . L-shaped or T of the ball valve of the present invention
The spherical outer surface of the ball body having the V-shaped flow passage is formed symmetrically with respect to the rotation center line, and is symmetrical with respect to the rotation center line of the portion of the ball body which does not come into contact with the valve seat by the flow passage port. Similarly, the part does not contact the valve seat and does not exert a force on the ball. Therefore, the force applied to the ball body by contact with the valve seat is always symmetrical and balanced with respect to the center line of rotation, and the action of tilting the ball body does not occur, resulting in insufficient flow rate characteristics. The durability is not reduced.
