2. Description of the Related Art A bracket fixed to a vehicle body is rotatably provided around a uniaxial center, and a pedal pad is depressed to rotate the pedestal from its original position to a uniaxial center so that a predetermined distance can be obtained. A vehicle operation pedal device for pressing or pulling an action member, such as a brake pedal or an accelerator pedal,
Although a clutch pedal is widely known, one of such vehicle operation pedal devices is proposed in which the position of the pedal pad can be moved in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. For example, the devices described in JP-A-63-49528 (conventional example 1), JP-A-2-39214 (conventional example 2) and JP-B-62-5700 (conventional example 3) are examples thereof. According to such an operation pedal device, since the position of the pedal pad can be adjusted to an optimum position according to the body shape and taste of the driver, the driving operation becomes easy.

In the above-mentioned prior art examples 1 and 2, the pedal pad is moved in parallel along a pair of elongated holes.
The posture and height position of the pedal pad are maintained substantially constant, and by displacing the support portion of the bracket and the connecting portion of the operating member, which are the uniaxial center, with the forward and backward movement of the pedal pad, The ratio of the distance to the pedal pad to the distance from the uniaxial center to the connecting portion of the action member (hereinafter referred to as the lever ratio) is set to be substantially constant, and the required stepping force does not change even if the pedal pad is moved back and forth. It is like this. In Conventional Example 3, the pedal pad is moved in parallel along the elongated hole, and the posture and height position of the pedal pad are maintained substantially constant.

However, the prior art examples 1 and 2 require a large number of parts for displacing the rotational axis of the operation pedal and the connecting portion of the action member, and the structure is complicated and large-scaled. Assembling is troublesome and costly, and in Conventional Example 1, it is difficult to obtain stable rotation because the position of the rotation axis of the operation pedal changes. Conventional example 3 is
The structure is simple, but since the lock is made by fitting the notch and the protrusion, the front and rear adjustment is gradual and the pedal pad sways up and down during adjustment, and it is not possible to adjust smoothly. Since the lever ratio changes with the movement, the necessary stepping force changes. Further, in all of these conventional examples 1 to 3, since the stepping member including the pedal pad is directly moved in the front-rear direction of the vehicle by the front-rear adjusting means, it is possible to adjust using a screw shaft or the like. Requires a drive device having a length equal to or longer than the movement stroke of the pedal pad, which requires a relatively large space in the front-rear direction, which is not preferable to arrange in a narrow space in front of the driver's seat.

In the operation pedal device capable of adjusting the front-rear direction, when the connecting angle of the second link member with respect to the first link member is changed by the front-rear adjusting means, the second connecting member is fixed. The stepping member connected to the link member and engaged with the first link member via the guide means is substantially parallel to the vehicle front-rear direction as the fixed connecting portion is rotated about the second axis. The position of the pedal pad is moved back and forth while maintaining the posture of the pedal pad substantially constant. In that case, since the second link member may be rotated relative to the first link member, the pedal pad can be moved smoothly, and the device is simple and compact. Further, for example, when the front-back adjusting means having the function of rotating both link members relative to each other is adopted, the pedal pad can be largely moved by a small driving stroke if it is arranged in the vicinity of the second axis. Since the front-rear adjustment means only needs to be able to rotate the second link member relative to the first link member, it does not necessarily have to be arranged in the front-rear direction of the vehicle, and the degree of freedom in designing the arrangement is high. In addition, the drive stroke can be shortened, and the space for disposing the vehicle in the front-rear direction can be reduced.

Further, the connecting portion of the second link member with the stepping member is changed by changing the connecting angle by the front-back adjusting means in a state where the first link member is held at the original position. If it is arranged so as to rotate around the second axis including the position directly below the second axis, the vertical movement of the stepping member due to the front-rear adjustment is reduced, and the stepping member can be translated substantially horizontally. Therefore, not only the posture of the pedal pad but also the height position is maintained substantially constant, and the change in the stepping operability due to the front-back adjustment is further reduced.

It should be noted that, for example, a stepping member is provided at the lower end of the first link member through a slot or the like so as to be relatively movable in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and the second link is rotatably attached to the first link member. When the stepping member is moved back and forth by the member, the second link member needs to be engaged with the stepping member so as to be vertically movable relative to the stepping member, while the second link member is used in the present invention. Since it is only necessary to connect the stepping member and the stepping member so as to be rotatable about the third axis, the device is simple and inexpensive in this respect as well.

[Action and Effect of the Second Invention] That is, when the action member is engaged with a predetermined portion of the second link member and the second link member is rotated relative to the first link member when the pedal pad is adjusted forward and backward. In addition, by changing the distance between the connecting portion of the acting member and the first shaft center which is the rotation center of the first link member, the change in the distance from the first shaft center to the pedal pad due to the longitudinal adjustment of the pedal pad is concerned. Instead, the lever ratio is kept substantially constant, whereby the required stepping operation force is kept substantially constant even when the pedal pad is adjusted back and forth. Moreover, the fact that the second link member is rotated relative to the first link member when the pedal pad is adjusted forward and backward is utilized, and the action member is simply connected to a predetermined portion of the second link member. As compared with the conventional example 1 and the conventional example 2 in which the lever ratio is maintained substantially constant by using a lever, a pivot pin, or the like, the device has a very simple structure.

The lever ratio does not have to be completely constant, and when the distance between the pedal pad and the first shaft center increases as the front and rear is adjusted, the connecting portion of the operating member and the first shaft center are If the distance between the pedal pad and the first axis decreases with the forward and backward adjustment, the distance between the connecting portion of the operating member and the first axis also decreases. A temporary effect can be obtained.

The first link member 18 is provided upright and the nut member 48 screwed onto the screw shaft 44 is provided. When the handle 42 is rotationally operated, the nut member 48 is relatively moved along the screw shaft 44, so that the connection angle between the second link member 22 and the first link member 18 around the pin 20 is changed. . 1 is a state in which the connection angle is opened to the maximum, and FIG. 2 is a state in which it is closed to the minimum, and the rotation range of the second link member 22 around the pin 20 is the original position of the first link member 18. In the held state, the other end to which the stepping member 32 is connected includes the position directly below the pin 20.
It is set to rotate around. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the pin 20 is rotated from a position directly below the pin 20 toward the front side of the vehicle by about 30 to 40 °, and as shown in FIG. It is rotated to the position. Then, in this way, the front-rear adjusting means 40 causes the first link member 18 and the second link member 2 to move.
When the connection angle around the pin 20 of No. 2 is determined, the rotation posture of the stepping member 32 around the pin 26, that is, about the third axis is determined by the engagement between the guide groove 28 and the engagement pin 30 according to the connection angle. Stipulated.

The guide groove 28 is formed so as to be obliquely downward toward the vehicle rear side, that is, to the right downward in FIG. 1, corresponding to the movement trajectory when the fixed connecting portion 24 rotates around the pin 20. As shown in FIG. 1, when the fixed connecting portion 24 is rotated counterclockwise of the pin 20 together with the other end portion of the second link member 22 in the state where the first link member 18 is held in the original position, Stepping member 32
The guide groove 28 and the engaging pin 30 are engaged with each other so that the guide groove 28 and the engaging pin 30 are moved substantially diagonally downward and to the right. That is, the shape of the guide groove 28 is appropriately determined in accordance with the locus of the fixed connecting portion 24 because the stepping member 32 is moved substantially in parallel with the movement of the fixed connecting portion 24. Therefore, when the connecting angle of the second link member 22 to the first link member 18 is changed by the front-rear adjusting means 40, the stepping member 3
2 is moved substantially parallel to the front-back direction of the vehicle,
It is positioned at an arbitrary position between the front end shown in FIG. 1 and the rear end shown in FIG. 2, whereby the position of the pedal pad 34 in the vehicle front-rear direction is adjusted. Here, the stepping member 32
Is moved diagonally downward from the front end toward the rear end, but the fixed connecting portion 24 is moved to the pin 2 as the front and rear is adjusted.
Since it can be rotated including 0, that is, the position immediately below the second axis, the amount of vertical movement of the stepping member 32 due to front-rear adjustment is relatively small. If the fixed connecting portion 24 is rotated about the position directly below the pin 20 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle in substantially the same angular range as the front-rear adjustment is performed, the vertical movement of the stepping member 32 due to the front-rear adjustment is changed. It is possible to make the amount even smaller. The vertical movement of the stepping member 32 is preferably based on the floor surface of the vehicle body,
In that case, the position where the pin 20 is lowered substantially perpendicularly to the floor surface may be considered as the position directly below the pin 20.

2 is urged by the brake booster 50 in the protruding direction, that is, in the right direction in the figure, and the support shaft 16 is always attached to the first link member 18 whose connecting angle with the second link member 22 is defined by the front-rear adjusting means 40. A counterclockwise moment is applied to the stopper 38 to hold it in the original position where it abuts against the stopper 38. When the pedal pad 34 is depressed from its original position, the brake pedal device 10
The entire body is rotated to the right around the support shaft 16, and the rod 5

Here, when the stepping member 32 is moved, the distance L2 from the shaft center of the support shaft 16 to the pedal pad 34 changes. With the change in the distance, the shaft center of the support shaft 16 moves to the rod 52. The distance L1 to the connecting portion, that is, the pin 56 also changes, and the lever ratio L2 / L1 hardly changes regardless of the movement of the stepping member 32. That is, the distance L when the stepping member 32 is located at the front end
Although the distance L2b when the stepping member 32 is located at the rear end is larger than 2a, the distance L1 is larger than L1a in L1b, and L2a / L1a≈L2b /
The position of the pin 56 is determined so as to be L1b. Specifically, as the stepping member 32 moves back and forth, the second link member 22 rotates around the pin 20 to change the distance L1.
Since it depends on the distance between the pin 56 and the pin 56 and the position of the pin 56 around the pin 20, the lever ratio L2a /
In the present embodiment, L1a≈L2b / L1b is set to the left of the pin 20, that is, to the left of the pin 20 from the line connecting the pin 20 and the support shaft 16, that is, to the front of the vehicle. The pin 56 is provided and the rod 52 is connected.

As described above, in the brake pedal device 10 of this embodiment, when the connecting angle of the second link member 22 with respect to the first link member 18 is changed by the front-rear adjusting means 40, the second link is provided at the fixed connecting portion 24. The stepping member 32 that is connected to the member 22 and is engaged with the first link member 18 via the guide groove 28 and the engagement pin 30.
Is moved substantially parallel to the vehicle front-rear direction as the fixed connecting portion 24 is rotated around the pin 20, and the position of the pedal pad 34 is moved back and forth while maintaining the posture of the pedal pad 34 substantially constant. To be made. In that case, since the fixed connecting portion 24 is rotated around the pin 20 including the position directly below the pin 20, the vertical movement of the stepping member 32 due to the forward / backward adjustment is reduced, and the fixed connecting portion 24 can be translated substantially horizontally. Therefore, not only the posture of the pedal pad 34 but also the height position is maintained substantially constant, and the change in the stepping operability due to the front-rear adjustment is further reduced.

Since the front-rear adjusting means 40 only has to rotate the second link member 22 relative to the first link member 18, the pedal pad 34 can be moved smoothly and the device is simple. It is also compactly constructed. Further, the front-rear adjusting means 40 includes pins 20 and 2
Since the bearing member 46 and the nut member 48 are arranged at an intermediate position between the step members 6 and 30, the stroke of approach and separation between the bearing member 46 and the nut member 48 may be smaller than the moving stroke of the stepping member 32, and compared with the case of directly moving the stepping member 32. Front and rear adjustment means 4
0 can be downsized, and the installation space in the vehicle front-rear direction can be reduced. Further, since the front-rear adjusting means 40 does not use an electric motor or the like and is designed to manually rotate the screw shaft 44, it is lightweight and inexpensive, and
Since the front-rear adjusting means 40 only needs to be able to rotate the second link member 22 relative to the first link member 18, the degree of freedom in designing the arrangement form is high, and for example, the screw shaft 44 can be easily rotated. It is possible to design

A stepping member 32 is arranged at the lower end of the first link member 18 via a slotted hole or the like so as to be relatively movable in the vehicle front-rear direction, and is rotatably attached to the first link member 18. It is also conceivable to move the stepping member 32 back and forth by the second link member 22, but in that case, it is necessary to engage the second link member 22 with the stepping member 32 so as to be capable of relative movement in the vertical direction by means of an elongated hole or the like. There is
Also in this respect, it is sufficient to connect the second link member 22 and the stepping member 32 rotatably around the third axis by simple shaft fitting of the pin 26. According to the present embodiment, the device is simple and inexpensive. To be done.

On the other hand, in this embodiment, the rod 52 is connected to a predetermined portion of the second link member 22, and the second link member 22 is rotated relative to the first link member 18 when the pedal pad 34 is adjusted back and forth. At this time, the lever ratio L2 / L changes due to the change of the distance L1 corresponding to the change of the distance L2.
Since 1 is maintained substantially constant, the required stepping operation force is maintained substantially constant even when the pedal pad 34 is adjusted back and forth. Moreover, by utilizing the fact that the second link member 22 is rotated relative to the first link member 18 when the pedal pad 34 is adjusted forward and backward, it is only necessary to connect the rod 52 to a predetermined portion of the second link member 22. Therefore, as compared with the case of using the adjusting lever, the pivot pin, or the like as in the prior art examples 1 and 2, the device is configured extremely easily.

Next, another embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 3 is a modification of the connection form between the rod 52 and the second link member 22 in the above-described embodiment. The elongated hole 60 is formed in the second link member 22 in the direction of approaching and separating from the pin 20, and the supporting shaft is Long holes 62 are formed in the first link member 18 in the direction of approach and separation with respect to 16, and the pins 56 of the clevis 54 are passed through the long holes 60 and 62. In this case, the second link member 2
The change characteristic of the distance L1 due to the relative rotation of the second link member 18 and the second link member 18 can be arbitrarily set by the shape of the elongated holes 60 and 62, so that the lever ratio L2 / L1 can be set regardless of the front-back adjustment of the pedal pad 34. It becomes possible to make it completely constant. Further, it is possible to prevent the amount of protrusion of the rod 52 from the brake booster 50 from changing regardless of the relative rotation of the second link member 22 and the first link member 18, and to adjust the pedal pad 34 forward and backward. Regardless of the pedal stroke can be maintained constant.

The first link member 98 and the second link member 10
The front-rear adjusting means 76 is disposed across the two, and the screw shaft 80 is rotated by the electric motor 78, so that the screw shaft 80 projects in the axial direction. It is driven to retract. The tip end of the screw shaft 80 is brought into contact with the second link member 102 to define the clockwise rotation end of the second link member 102, while between the second link member 102 and the first link member 98. A spring 122 such as a tension coil spring is provided and urges the second link member 102 so as to always abut the screw shaft 80. Therefore, when the screw shaft 80 is projected and retracted by the electric motor 78, the pivotal end of the second link member 102, that is, the connection angle around the pin 100 with respect to the first link member 98 is changed, and accordingly, the stepping member 112 is changed. Are moved in the front-back direction of the vehicle.
As a result, the position of the pedal pad 114 in the vehicle front-rear direction is adjusted to an arbitrary position between the front end shown by the solid line and the rear end shown by the alternate long and short dash line. In the present embodiment, the rotation of the second link member 102 is also adjusted. With the throttle cable 120
By displacing the position of the connecting portion of the pedal pad 114, the lever ratio is maintained substantially constant regardless of the front-back adjustment of the pedal pad 114, and the stepping operation force is hardly changed.
