Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(a)封入材料の中に、(i)1.8meq/g以下のシアン基を含み、( ii)少なくとも6、好ましくは約6と約8の間の平均誘電定数εavgを有す る液晶組成物を分散している封入材料を有するカプセル化液晶構造を有する複数 の面素と、 (b)各画素に直列に接続される非線形スイッチ素子とからなる液晶表示装置。 2.(a)封入材料の中に、(j)1.8ボルト以下、好ましくは0.8ボルト と1.8ボルトの間のしきい値電圧Tth、(ii)少なくとも0.15、好ま しくは0.15と0.30の間の光学的異方性、および(iii)少なくとも6 、好ましくは6と8の間の平均誘電定数εavgを有する液晶組成物を分散して いる封入材料を有するカプセル化液晶構造を有する複数の画素と、(b)各画素 に直列に接続される非線形スイッチ素子とからなる液晶表示装置。 3.請求項2に記載された液晶表示装置において、上記の液晶組成物は、1.8 meq/g以下のシアン基を含む表示装置。 4.請求項1または2に記載された液晶表示装置において、上記の非線形スイッ チ素子は、薄膜トランジスタである表示装置。 5.封入材料の中に、(i)1.8meq/g以下のシアン基を含み、(ii) 少なくとも6、好ましくは約6と約8の間の平均誘電定数εavgを有する液晶 組成物を分散している封入材料を有するカプセル化液晶構造。 6.封入材料の中に、(i)1.8ボルト以下、好ましくは0.8ボルトと1. 8ボルトの間のしきい値電圧Tth、(ii)少なくとも0.15、好ましくは 0.15と0.30の間の光学的異方性△n、および(iii)少なくとも6、 好ましくは6と8の間の平均誘電定数εavgを有する液晶組成物を分散してい る封入材料を有するカプセル化液晶構造。 7.請求項6に記載されたカプセル化液晶構造において、上記の液晶組成物は、 1.8meq/g以下のシアン基を含む液晶構造。 8.請求項1または2に記載された液晶表示装置または請求項5または6におい て記載されたカプセル化液晶構造において、上記の液晶組成物は、実質的にシア ン基を含まない液晶表示装置またはカプセル化液晶構造。 9.請求項1または2に記載された液晶表示装置または請求項5または6におい て記載されたカプセル化液晶構造において、上記の液晶組成物は、機能的にネマ ティックであり正の誘電定数を有する液晶表示装置またはカプセル化液晶構造。 10.請求項1または2に記載された液晶表示装置または請求項5または6にお いて記載されたカプセル化液晶構造において、上記の液晶組成物は、少なくとも 2.0meq/gのフッ素をする液晶表示装置またはカプセル化液晶構造。
