Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a dielectric ceramic for microwave whose dielectric constant (epsilonr) and no-load Q(Qu) are large when the coefficient of temperature is close to zero (ppm/ deg.C). CONSTITUTION:A dielectric ceramic for microwave comprises a lead oxide (PbO), calcium oxide (CaO), zirconium oxide (ZrO2), cerium oxide (CeO2) and manganese oxide (MuO2). The expression of the principal component is X(CawPb1-w)O+Y(ZrO2)+ZCeO2, where 47<=X<=55, 44.8<=Y<=53, 0<Z<=1 (unit is mol), and X+Y+Z=100, while the mol ratio of W is 0.25<=W<=0.45. MnO2 is added to the principal component by no more than 2wt.%.

According to the experimental results shown in Table 1, X or (Ca W
Pb 1-W ) O mol% is less than 47 or Y, that is, ZrO
When the mol% of 2 exceeds 53 (Sample No. 20), and the mol% of X or (Ca W Pb 1 -W ) O exceeds 55, or the mol% of Y or ZrO 2 is less than 44.8. In the case of No. 21 (Sample No. 21), the unloaded Q (Q u ) and the relative dielectric constant (ε r ) are small, and therefore it is found to be unsuitable for the purpose of the present invention. In addition, Z or CeO 2 mol% is 1.
In the case of exceeding 0 (Sample No. 11) or 0 (Sample No. 7), the no-load Q (Q u ) becomes small, and it is understood that this is not suitable for the purpose of the present invention. When the W or Ca molar ratio is 0.25 or less (Sample No. 1), the temperature coefficient (τ f ) becomes positively large, and when W exceeds 0.45 (Sample No. 6), the temperature is increased. Since the coefficient (τ f ) increases negatively and the relative permittivity (ε r ) decreases to 50 or less, it can be seen that this is not suitable for the purpose of the present invention. Also,
It can be seen that when a small amount of Mn is added, the sinterability can be improved and the unloaded Q (Q u ) can be improved. However, when the added amount is O (Sample No. 12) and exceeds 2% by weight. It can be seen that (Sample No. 17) is unsuitable for the purpose of the present invention because the unloaded Q (Q u ) is as small as 500 or less. Therefore, the above composition ranges are excluded from the present invention. Therefore, when the microwave dielectric ceramics composed of lead oxide (PbO), calcium oxide (CaO), zirconium oxide (ZrO 2 ), cerium oxide (CeO 2 ) and manganese oxide (MnO 2 ) is used, When the composition formula is expressed as X (Ca W Pb 1-W ) O + Y (ZrO 2 ) + ZCeO 2 , 47 ≦ X ≦ 55 44.8 ≦ Y ≦ 53 0 <Z ≦ 1 in terms of X, Y and Z in mol%. When X + Y + Z = 100 and the molar ratio of W is in the range of 0.25 <W ≦ 0.45, and MnO 2 is added in an amount of 2 wt% or less to this main component, the relative permittivity (ε r ) and no load are applied. It can be seen that a ceramic having a large Q (Q u ) and a temperature coefficient (τ f ) within a range of ± 100 ppm / ° C. can be obtained.

As is apparent from the above description, the dielectric ceramics for microwaves according to the present invention has a relative permittivity (ε r ) and no load Q in the microwave region.
(Q u ) is large, and the temperature coefficient τ f of the resonance frequency can be changed over a wide range by changing the composition. Therefore, it is effective for miniaturization of the dielectric resonator and the dielectric filter used in the microwave region. Alternatively, it can be used as a dielectric ceramic (porcelain) such as a temperature compensation capacitor.
