For example, as modulation for audio in a video tape recorder, FM modulation recording by a rotating head, and as a dedicated audio device, digital modulation recording by a rotating head is known.

In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 is a magnetic tape, and 2 is a rotating cylinder that holds rotating heads 3 and 4. As a result, the heads 3 and 4 trace the tape 1 obliquely to record an audio signal. Whenever the heads 3 and 4 rotate by 36 °, time-compressed audio signals are recorded in the six areas formed in the longitudinal direction of the tape 1, respectively, so that audio signals of a total of 6 channels can be recorded. That is, a dedicated tape recorder can be obtained.

It is an area where the audio signal is recorded during the period. It is possible to separately record audio signals in each area, and so-called azimuth overwriting is performed in each area, but the tracks in each area CH1 to CH6 do not have to be on the same straight line. The pilot signal for tracking control is recorded in each area, but it is assumed that it is recorded in a predetermined rotation (f 1 → f 2 → f 3 → f 4 ) for each area. There is no correlation between them.

Recorded and played back while driving. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, the inclination of each track in the area shown in CH1 to CH3 and CH4 to C
The slope of each track in the area indicated by H6 is slightly different. However, the difference in relative speed at this time is not a problem because the tape 1 travels much less than the heads 3 and 4 rotate.

The signal processing opposite to that at the time of recording is performed from ~ t3). That is, error correction is performed during this period, and then t8 is applied in accordance with the signal shown in FIG.
The playback audio signal is output at ~ t9 (t3 ~ t6). Of course, the reproducing operation by the head 4 is performed with a phase difference of 180 ° from the above operation, and a continuous reproducing audio signal can be obtained by this.

After being converted into digital data, the above-mentioned signal processing is performed. The recording audio data thus obtained is generated by the pilot signal generating circuit 32 at every rotation of f 1 → f 2 → f 3 → f 4 for tracking tracking pilot signals and other pilot signals described later and adder. It is added at 33. The output of the adder 33 is appropriately gated by the gate circuit 28 as described above, and written in a desired area by the heads 3 and 4.

It is well known that the reproduced tracking pilot signal and the pilot signal generated by the pilot signal generating circuit 32 at the same rotation as at the time of recording are used. However, when it is used as an audio dedicated device, a tracking error signal is obtained for each area, so this is sampled and held. The tracking error signal thus obtained is supplied to the capstan motor control circuit 20, and the running of the tape 1 during reproduction is controlled via the capstans 14 and 15 to perform tracking control.

Then, it is added to the pilot signal obtained from the pilot signal generating circuit 32 by the adder 40 and is recorded in the areas CH2 to CH6 by the heads 3 and 4 via the gate circuit 27. The recording operation of the PCM audio signal at this time is exactly the same as the above-mentioned recording operation for CH1.

At this time, since the output of the inverter 68 shifts to the high level, the output of the AND gate 69 (shown in FIG. 6 (d)) and the output of the OR gate 70 (shown in FIG. 6 (e)) also shift to the high level. On the other hand, the mono-multi 67 is triggered by the falling edge of the output of the mono-multi 66 and shifts to the low level after a predetermined period (T2). The OR gate 70 receives the output of the AND gate 69 and the output of the MM67, and turns to the low level when the output of the inverter 65 is turned to the low level and the output of the MM67 is turned to the low level.

In this case, if the silent period is T B during the period when the output of the OR gate 70 is at high level (T3), T 3 = T B −T 1 . However, when T 1 <T B <T 2 −T 1 , T 3 = T 2 as apparent from FIG. On the other hand, when T B <T 1 , T 3 = 0.

The silent period shorter than this period is not judged to be between songs. It seems preferable to set T 1 to about 2 seconds, for example. Of course, this T 1 can be appropriately determined according to the application.

That is, it suffices to set a period sufficient to detect the cueing pilot signal when the tape is run at a high speed. For example, if you want to run the tape at 30 times speed, set the period to 30/60 seconds or more. Multiple detections (x times)
If you want to do it, it means x / 2 seconds or more. However, if this T 2 is too long, the cueing pilot signal will be recorded in a portion other than the actual silent recording portion, which is not preferable.

The recording level is increased by about 3 dB from the recording level of TPS when recording a video signal to obtain a tracking error signal by sample hold. This is also related to the fact that in the case of a video tape recorder it is not necessary to consider the interference with the chroma signal. For example, when the recording level of TPS when multiplex recording on a video signal is about -14 dB with respect to the recording level of a chroma signal, when it is used as a dedicated audio system, it is set at about -11 dB.

It was confirmed that there was no problem if it was about Hz or less. Moreover, if the recording level was the same as that of TPS, it did not adversely affect the PCM audio signal. Specifically
Regarding the frequencies of f 5 and f 6 , it is desirable to divide the same oscillator of 378f H by a division ratio of an integral multiple, for example, f 5 = 14.5f H , f 6 = 16.5f H Also N 5 =
Set 26, N 6 = 23. For the control of the tracking by the TPS performed by comparing the known as f H, 3f H component, f 5 further 4f H higher frequency than f 3, f 6 is a further 2f H higher frequencies. Here, f 5 ≈ 218 KHz and f 6 ≈ 259 KHz are actually obtained, and it can be seen that the values have a considerable margin compared to 500 KHz.

In this case, the silent parts at the beginning and the end of the music are judged to be between the respective songs, and if the recording part of the music having a silent part at the beginning and the end is unrecorded, the beginning and the end. That is, if n is too large, there is a possibility that the rear end of the music MUSIC1 will be reproduced if the reproduction is started from the stop position. For example, if T 1 is 2 seconds, that is, 120 tracks, and T 2 is 1 second, that is, 60 tracks, it is sufficient to determine the value of n so that the influence of inertia is about 60 tracks. In this way, the tape is always stopped at the position where it can be reproduced from the silent portion, and good reproduction can be performed.

If the tape can be detected, it is possible to detect f 6 nX / m times when the tape is run at m-times speed. Therefore, the rising and falling parts of T 3 period can be detected fairly accurately.

Stop it. This FG count is, for example, 120 trucks, and if 1 tractor 1 travels while k FGs are generated, a good stop position can be obtained by stopping when 120 × k are counted (Fig. 12). shown in ST 3), Note which T 1 is 120 track component, T 3 is based on the assumption that it is about 60 tracks min.

Run the tape at double speed (S13). Then, this time, the tape is stopped when the output of the comparison circuit 159 becomes H, and the tape is run in the reverse direction at m times speed (S17). After that, it is the same as the case of fast forward cueing.

In this case, it is desirable to record this data close to the digital synchronization data in consideration of the difficulty of detection at the time of search.

Since the inter-track detection is performed depending on the presence or absence of the detection signal, it is possible to prevent erroneous detection due to an unrecorded portion following the recording portion.
