- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.脈管構造内の領域の内部の血液流を表わす領域のイメージを構成する方法に おいて、 後で前記脈管構造内の領域を伝搬する超音波波形を該脈管構造の内腔の内部か ら放出するステップと、 前記領域内部の組織と血液とからの超音波波形の反射から生じる放出超音波波 形のエコーを感知するステップと、 感知されたエコーをエコー波形に変換するステップと、 前記領域からの感知されたエコーから生じる1組のエコー波形を得るため、前 記放出、感知および変換ステップを複数回反復するステップと、 前記1組のエコー波形を組合わせて、流れる血液を含む比較的活動的な特徴に より占められる前記領域内の修正エコー波形表示領域を形成するステップとを含 み、前記1組のエコー波形の部分は、前記領域における組織を含む、前記修正エ コー波形において実質的に減衰される比較的静止的な特徴から生じ、 前記脈管構造の領域の、比較的活動的な特徴を主として表わす第1のイメージ を提供するため修正エコー波形を処理するステップを 含む方法。 2.前記処理ステップが、修正されたエコー波形を1組のイメージ値を含むイメ ージ形成ベクトルへ変換するステップを含む請求の範囲第1項記載の方法。 3.前記処理ステップが更に、ビデオ・ディスプレイ上のピクセル位置へ前記1 組のイメージ値をマップすることを含む請求の範囲第2項記載の方法。 4.前記放出ステップが、前記領域における主要の血液流に対して直角方向に超 音波波形を円筒状のトランスジューサ・アレイにより放出することを含む請求の 範囲第1項記載の方法。 5.前記1組のエコー波形を組合わせるステップが、交互の極性変調シーケンス をエコー波形に印加することを含む請求の範囲第1項記載の方法。 6.交互の極性変調シーケンスを印加するステップが、前記1組のエコー波形の 交互の加算および差引きサブセットを含む請求の範囲第5項記載の方法。 7.前記1組のエコー波形のサブセットの各々に含まれるエコー波形量を指定す るステップを更に含む請求の範囲第6項記載の方法。 8.前記1組のエコー波形を組合わせるステップが、振幅変調シーケンスを前記 1組のエコー波形へ適用することを請求の範囲第5項記載の方法。 9.振幅変調シーケンスを適用するステップが、正弦波状の振幅変調シーケンス を前記1組のエコー波形に適用することを含む請求の範囲第8項記載の方法。 10.振幅変調シーケンスを適用するステップが、余弦テーパ振幅変調シーケン スを前記1組のエコー波形に適用することを含む請求の範囲第9項記載の方法。 11.前記領域内の組織および血液から放出された超音波波形の反射から生じる 1組のエコー波形を加算することにより得られる超音波イメージ・データから脈 管構造の領域の、該領域内の比較的静止的な特徴を表わす第2のイメージを構成 するステップと、 前記領域の比較的静止的な特徴と比較的活動的な特徴とを対照方法で表示する 第3のイメージを得るため前記第1のイメージと前記第2のイメージとを組合わ せることにより医療用途に適する内腔イメージを提供するステップと、 を更に含む請求の範囲第1項記載の方法。 12.前記組合わせステップが前記第1のイメージの選択された部分を着色する ことを含む請求の範囲第11項記載の方法。 13.前記組合わせステップが、感知されたエコーから生じるアナログ・エコー 波形をアナログ形態からディジタル形態へ変換することを含む請求の範囲第1項 記載の方法。 14.前記1組のエコー波形の連続的波形の対応する部分が比較される時、前記 領域に対する放出ステップと感知ステップとの連続的な反復間の期間が、前記組 織からの超音波エコーを含む超音波エコーから生じるエコー波形の第2の比較的 静止的な部分が流れる血液からの超音波エコーを含む超音波エコーから生じるエ コー波形の第1の比較的活動的な部分から弁別し得る最大期間より短い請求の範 囲第1項記載の方法。 15.連続的な反復間の期間が1秒の1000分の1より小さい請求の範囲第1 4項記載の方法。 16.連続的な反復間の期間が1秒の10000分の1より小さい請求の範囲第 14項記載の方法。 17.連続的な反復間の期間が1秒の100000分の1より小さい請求の範囲 第14項記載の方法。 18.前記組合わせステップが、エコー波形の比較的静止的な部分を減衰するフ ィルタ・シーケンスを前記1組のエコー波形に対して適用することを含む請求の 範囲第1項記載の方法。 19.前記組合わせステップが、複数の部分変調エコー波形を得るため、前記領 域内の血液のある範囲の移動速度に対する感度を提供する複数のフィルタ・シー ケンスを前記1組のエコー波形に適用することを含む請求の範囲第1項記載の方 法。 20.前記組合わせステップが更に、個々のレベル値を前記複数の部分変調エコ ー波形の各々に割当て、変調エコー波形を得るためレベル・シフトされた部分変 調エコー波形を組合わせることにより、該部分変調エコー波形をレベル・シフト することを含み、該変調エコー波形が領域内の血液の異なる移動速度を表わす請 求の範囲第19項記載の方法。 21.視覚的に別個の表示モードを、変調エコー波形を含む部分変調エコー波形 の各々と関連する各個のレベル値に割当てるステップを更に含む請求の範囲第2 0項記載の方法。 22.1つの脈管構造内に1つの新たな領域を選択するステップと、 前記脈管構造の新たな領域の第1のイメージを生じるために、該新たな領域に 対して放出、感知、変換、反復、組合わせおよび処理ステップを反復する第2の ステップとを更に含む請求の範囲第1項記載の方法。 23.プローブ組立体の付近における前記脈管構造の一部に対して第1のイメー ジを提供するために、前記選択ステップと第2の反復ステップとを反復するステ ップを更に含む請求の範囲第22項記載の方法。 24.領域内に流れる血液を表わす脈管構造内の領域のイメージを構成する超音 波イメージ形成システムにおいて、 超音波トランスジューサ組立体に1組のエコー波形を複数回得させ、 前記脈管構造の内腔内から該脈管構造内部の領域を伝搬する超音波波形を放出 し、 前記領域内の組織と血液とからの超音波波形の反射から生じる放出超音波波形 のエコーを感知し、 前記放出超音波波形の感知されたエコーをエコー波形に変換する、 イメージ処理制御装置に通信自在に接続された超音波トランスジューサ組立体を 含むプローブ組立体と、 前記イメージ処理制御装置に通信自在に接続されて、該イメージ処理制御装置 により送信される制御信号に従って、流れる血液を含む比較的活動的な特徴によ り占められる領域の内部の領域を示す変調エコー波形を形成するため1組のエコ ー波形を受信して組合わせるエコー波形処理装置とを備え、前記領域における比 較的静止的な特徴から生じるの1組のエコー波形の部分が、変調エコー波形で実 質的に減衰される組織を含み、 前記変調エコー波形から脈管構造の領域の、該領域における比較的活動的な特 徴を主として表わす第1のイメージを構成する超音波イメージ・プロセッサとを 備える超音波イメージ形成システム。 25.前記トランスジューサ組立体が、前記領域における主要血液流に対して直 角の方向において超音波波形を放出し受取る円筒状トランスジューサ・アレイを 含む請求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 26.前記エコー波形処理装置が、 前記1組のエコー波形を受取り、該1組のエコー波形をアナログ形態からディ ジタル形態へ組立体するアナログ/ディジタル(A/D)・コンバータと、 前記A/Dコンバータおよびイメージ処理制御装置に通信自在に接続されて、 前記イメージ処理制御装置から送られる加算/差引きモード制御信号に従って、 ディジタル形態のエコー波形の組を受取り、かつディジタル形態のエコー波形の 組を処理する算術演算装置と を含む請求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 27.前記イメージ処理制御装置が、ディジタル形態の前記1組のエコー波形を 処理する算術演算装置に対する加算/差引きモード制御信号の実質的に均衡され たシーケンスを指定するモード制御メモリを含む請求の範囲第26項記載の超音 波イメージ形成システム。 28.前記イメージ処理制御装置が、該エコー波形処理装置が前記1組のエコー 波形を組合わせる方法を指定するエコー波形処理装置に対して一連の極性制御信 号を提供する極性シーケンス発生器を含む請求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメ ージ形成システム。 29.前記エコー波形処理装置が、前記一連の極性制御信号に従って前記1組の エコー波形の加算および差引きサブセットに対する算術演算装置を含む請求の範 囲第28項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 30.前記極性シーケンス発生器が、前記1組のエコー波形のサブシステムの各 々に含まれるエコー波形の量を指定する請求の範囲第29項記載の超音波イメー ジ形成システム。 31.前記イメージ処理制御装置が、前記1組のエコー波形に対する1組のスケ ーリング係数を指定するスケーリング回路を含み、 前記エコー波形処理装置が、前記スケーリング回路により提供される1組のス ケーリング係数に従ってエコー波形の振幅をスケーリングする係数乗算器を含む 請求の範囲第28項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 32.前記スケーリング回路が、前記1組のエコー波形をスケーリングするスケ ーリング係数の正弦波状シーケンスを指定する請求の範囲第31項記載の超音波 イメージ形成システム。 33.前記スケーリング回路が更に、スケーリング係数の余弦テーパ・シーケン スにより前記1組のエコー波形をスケールする請求の範囲第32項記載の超音波 イメージ形成システム。 34.前記領域内の組織および血液から放出された超音波波形の反射から生じる 1組のエコー波形を加算することにより得られる超音波イメージ・データから前 記脈管構造の領域の第2のイメージを生成する手段を更に備え、該第2のイメー ジは前記領域内の比較的静止的な特徴を主として表わし、 前記領域の比較的静止的な特徴と比較的活動的な特徴とを対照方法で表示する 第3のイメージを得るために前記第1および第2のイメージを組合わせることに より、医療用途に適する内腔のイメージを提供する手段を備える請求の範囲第2 4項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 35.前記領域内の比較的活動的な特徴を表示する第1のイメージの部分を選択 的に着色する手段を更に備える請求の範囲第34項記載の超音波イメージ形成シ ステム。 36.前記エコー波形処理装置が、フィルタ・シーケンスを前記1組のエコー波 形に適用する手段を含み、該フィルタ・シーケンスが前記1組のエコー波形の比 較的静止的な部分を減衰する請求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメージ形成シス テム。 37.前記エコー波形処理装置が、複数のフィルタ・シーケンスを前記1組のエ コー波形に適用して複数の部分変調エコー波形を得る手段を含み、各フィルタ・ シーケンスが前記領域内の血液のある範囲の移動速度に対する感度を提供する請 求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 38.前記エコー波形処理装置が更に、別個のレベル値を閾値を満たす複数の部 分変調エコー波形の各々の部分に割当てる閾値検出器/レベル・シフタと、 前記部分変調エコー波形を組合わせて変調エコー波形を得るアキュムレータと を含み、該変調エコー波形が前記領域における血液の異なる移動速度を表わす請 求の範囲第37項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 39.前記変調エコー波形を含む部分変調エコー波形に対する各個のレベル値に 従って、視覚的に個々の表示モードで前記第1のイメージを表示する手段を更に 備える請求の範囲第38項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。 40.前記脈管構造の断面内に新たな領域を選択する手段と、 前記トランスジューサ組立体と、エコー波形処理装置と、超音波イメージ・プ ロセッサとを制御して、前記脈管構造の新たな領域に対する第1のイメージを提 供する手段とを更に備える請求の範囲第24項記載の超音波イメージ形成システ ム。 41.前記トランスジューサ組立体と、エコー波形処理装置と、超音波イメージ ・プロセッサとに、プローブ組立体の付近における前記脈管構造の断面内に複数 の新たな領域を選択させて、各新たな領域に対する第1のイメージを提供する手 段を更に備える請求の範囲第40項記載の超音波イメージ形成システム。
