て1、2、3の(共)重合体を用いて炭酸カルシウムに
対するスケール防止効果を評価した。スケール防止評価
方法:脱イオン水250mlに、0.29%の塩化カル
シウム水溶液50ml、0.44%の炭酸水素ナトリウ
ム50ml、上記重合体100ppm含有するスケール
防止剤水溶液50ml(10ppm添加に相当)を混合
し、0.1Nの水酸化ナトリウムでpHを8.5に調整
した後、脱イオン水を加えて500mlと、25℃にお
ける炭酸カルシウムの5倍過飽和水溶液を作成した。ま
た同様の方法でスケール防止剤添加量を5ppmおよび
20ppmに変化させた溶液も作成した。これらの溶液
300mlをガラスビンに入れ、密栓して60℃で24
時間静置し、炭酸カルシウムの析出量観察した。結果を
表2に示す。表2の通り、本発明の共重合体は優れたス
