して互いに逆向きに嵌合する複数のシールリングを備え
た構成を特徴としている。

弁の構造説明図、第4図はその作用説明図である。図に
おいて、本実施例に係る蒸気加減弁はボイラの蒸気配管
に使用されており、第1図および第2図に示すように弁
胴5内にマフラー3によりガイドされて開閉するプラグ
2が装着されており、図示しない蒸気配管内を流れる蒸
気1の流量がプラグ2により調節されるようになってい
る。4はプラグ2を開閉させる弁棒である。また、プラ
グ2が微開状態のときにマフラー3の先端とその先端が
挿入される弁胴5の環状溝6との隙間から流れる蒸気1
の流れを防止するため、マフラー3の先端側部にシール
リングが装着されており、マフラー3の先端と環状溝6
との隙間に嵌入されるようになっている。このシールリ
ングは第2図(a)に示すように上下2つに分離され、
その外側の上記シールリング7と内側の下シールリング
8とはそれぞれテーパー状にカットされて上シールリン
グ7は下シールリング8の外側に厚い端部を上方に向
け、また下シールリング8は厚い端部を弁胴5に接して
下方に向けて互いに逆向きに嵌合されており、シールリ
ング上流からの蒸気1の圧力により上下シールリング7,
8間にくさび効果が発生して上下シールリング7,8が密着
するようになっている。そして、シールリングの上流と
下流との蒸気1に圧力差が極めて少ない状態のときにシ
ールリングが浮き上って抜け出ることがないように、マ
フラー3の先端外側に切込み9が設けられている。この
切込み9はシールリングがマフラー3から抜け出さない
程度の寸法で設けられている。

ーパー状とすることにより押圧力N=P/sinαを増加さ
せて加えることができ、例えば角度αを5〜10°とする
ことにより押圧力は5〜10倍に増加する。なお、材質は
一般のプラグなどに使用されているシールリングと同一
のものでよい。従って、蒸気の圧力を上シールリング7
の上面に受けて下方への押付け力と、くさび効果によっ
て生じるマフラー3の中心に向う力とにより十分なシー
ル性が得られ、マフラー3の先端と環状溝6との隙間か
らの流れを完全に遮断するようになっている。
