The charge control agent is excellent in charge control ability and environmental stability in a short period, but it does not always stabilize the charge amount sufficiently when a copying machine is used for a long period of time or in a harsh environment. . Therefore, under such conditions, there is a problem that even if the charge control agent is used, the amount of charge changes and the image becomes unstable.

Japanese Patent No. 313412 discloses a technique of incorporating tetramethylsuccinonitrile into a toner. However, since tetramethylsuccinonitrile has a high sublimation property, it adheres to an electronic component in a copying machine and damages a circuit or the environment. There were drawbacks such as causing pollution.

Although various initiators other than peroxide-based initiators may be used, vinyls using peroxide-based initiators are generally used because they cannot give sufficient charging performance to the toner. The system copolymer is used as a resin for toner. Thus, as the polymerization initiator of the vinyl-based copolymer, a peroxide-based initiator is often used, but if a vinyl-based copolymer polymerized with the peroxide-based initiator is used, There is a problem that an image becomes unstable when a copying machine is used or in a harsh environment. As a result of various studies on this cause, the present inventors have found that the main factor thereof is the residue of the peroxide type initiator. In particular, it was found that benzoic acid, which is a decomposition product of benzoyl peroxide, has a great influence.

Thus, diethyl dimethylsuccinotitril is effective against the residue of the peroxide-based initiator,
It is considered that diethyldimethylsuccinotolyl has a function of trapping the residue of the peroxide-based initiator and suppressing the residual of the peroxide-based initiator from adversely affecting the stability of the image.
