優れたシリコーン系撥水性保護塗料を提供することを目

ルガノポリシロキサンが、触媒で常温硬化する環状シリ
コーンを全部又は主体とすることを第一の特徴的要件と
する。環状シリコーンは、未硬化状態において、約60
0cPsの液状態で、当該環状シリコーンを使用するこ
とにより、後述の二酸化ケイ素粉末と協働して耐候性・
透明性及び耐擦傷性に優れたものとなる。硬化ポリマー
がラダー型を含み、かつ、非結晶性ポリマーとなるため
と推定される。触媒で常温硬化タイプとすることによ
り、加熱の設備が不要となり、適用製品(非塗布不物)
及び塗布場所にとらわれない。なお、触媒としては、下
記金属有機酸塩及び有機アミンを使用することが可
能である。特に、錫系触媒をイソプロピルアルコール
(IPA)に溶解させて、添加することが望ましい。 ジブチル錫ジラウレート、ジオクテン酸錫、ステアリ
ン酸鉄、オクチル酸鉛、等。 ジブチルアミン、トリエタノールアミン、ジメチルソ
ーヤアミン、テトラメチルグアニジン、等。 上記、環状シリコーンは、そのままでは、粘度が高く、
塗布作業性が劣るため、通常、2〜10倍、望ましく
は、3〜5倍のアルコール系・エーテル系溶剤で希釈し
て使用する。ここで、アルコール系としては、IPA、
エチルアルコール、ブチルアルコール、エチレングリコ
ール等と、エーテル系としては、ジオキサン、テトラヒ
ドロフラン、セロソルブ類、等を挙げることができる。
また、塗膜成分となる、環状シリコーン(常温硬化二液
タイプ)以外のポリオルガノシロキサンとしては、湿気
反応型架橋剤(一分子当たり二個以上のアルコキシ基を
有する低分子量ポリシロキサン)を混合して使用可能で
ある。この湿気反応型架橋剤を混合して使用することに
より、塗膜収縮を低減させることができるとともに、被
塗布物、特に、ガラス、タイル、ほうろうなどの、(S
iO2 ) n に対する密着性が向上して望ましい。さらに
は、当該湿気反応型架橋剤は、擦り傷凹部を埋める作用
を確実にして、補修用塗料として使用する場合に好適で
ある。 (2) この塗料には、二酸化ケイ素粉末を含ませることを
第二の特徴的要件とする。この、二酸化ケイ素粉末は、
環状シリコーンと相乗して、硬化塗膜の表面硬度を高め
て耐擦傷性を向上させるとともに、耐候性向上の作用を
担うと推定される。二酸化ケイ素粉末の粒径は、10〜
1000nm、望ましくは20〜100nmとする。1

を越えると、塗膜の透明性が阻害され易い。この二酸化
ケイ素粉末の添加量は、塗膜成分(ポリオルガノシロキ
サン)100部に対して、10〜70部、望ましくは、
20〜50部とする。10部未満では、環状シリコーン
と相乗しての耐候性向上効果が得難く、100部を越え
ると、塗膜に曇りが発生して透明性を確保し難くなる。
この二酸化ケイ素粉末の塗料への添加は、通常、2〜1
0倍、望ましくは、3〜6倍のアルコールに分散させ
た、アルコール分散ゾルの形態で添加することが、分散
性が良好で望ましい。アルコールとしては、前記環状シ
リコーンを希釈したものを使用可能である。 (3) 上記アルコール系・エーテル系溶剤で希釈して環状
シリコーン溶液に、アルコール分散ゾル形態の二酸化ケ
イ素粉末を添加して、本発明の撥水性保護塗料を調製す
る。この際、耐候性(特に、耐変色性)をより向上させ
るため、紫外線吸収剤(いわゆるUVカット剤)を添加
することが望ましい。さらに、必要に応じて、界面活性
剤、染料等の他の副資材を、適宜添加することが可能で
ある。上記紫外線吸収剤としては、サリチル酸メチル、
p−t−ブチルフェニル−サリシレート、p−オクチル
フェニル−サリシレート(以上、サリチル酸誘導体)、
2−ヒドロキシ−4−メトキシベンゾフェノン、2−ヒ
ドロキシ−4−n−オクトキシベンゾフェノン、4−ド
デシロキシ−2−ヒドロキシベンゾフェノン(以上、ベ
ンゾフェノン系)、2−(2′−ヒドロキシ−5′−メ
チル−フェニルベンゾトリアゾール、2−(2′−ヒド
ロキシ−3′−t−ブチル−5′−メチルフェニルベン
ゾトリアゾール(以上、ベンゾトリアゾール系)、等を
挙げることができる。この紫外線吸収剤の添加量は、環
状シリコーン100部に対して、通常、3〜10部とす
る。 (4) 上記のようにして調製した撥水性保護塗料は、非塗
布物(基体)の上に、塗布して使用する。非塗布物とし
ては、プラスチック・金属・セラミックス・コンクリー
トを問わない。但し、フッ素樹脂・塩化ビニル樹脂は除
く。このとき、塗膜厚は、通常、1〜500μm(望ま
しくは、10〜100μm)とする。塗布方法として
は、スプレー・刷毛塗りの公知の方法の他、スポンジ・
ウエス・テッシュ等を塗料に浸して、塗布する方法でも
よい。そして、塗膜硬化は、通常、室温乾燥させて行う
が、100℃以下で加熱硬化させてもよい。 こうし
て、基材上に形成した塗膜は、撥水性を有するととも
に、基体の耐候性及び耐擦傷性を向上させることができ
る。なお、本発明の撥水性保護塗料は、基体表面に形成

ことができるとともに、被塗布物、特に、ガラス、タイ
ル、ほうろうなどの、(SiO2 )n に対する密着性が
向上する。また、擦り傷凹部を埋める作用を確実にし
て、補修用塗料としての適性を増大させる。また、当該
撥水性保護塗料に、請求項3の如く、紫外線吸収剤を添
加した場合は、さらなる、耐候性の向上を期待すること

毛塗り塗布して(塗布量:12〜13cc)、25℃×
60%RHの条件で、硬化させて各試験片を調製した。
