Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expand metal with superior sliding characteristics and eliminate a resin sliding layer from flowing by melting and from being exfoliated in a sliding face even on the case of being used under severe friction conditions by constituting the expand metal of a multilayers sliding member welded to a metal plate in its joint part. SOLUTION: A multilayers sliding member is formed form a metal plate 1 as a metal back plate, expand metal 2 welded on its surface, and a thermoplastic synthetic resin sliding layer 3 formed by coating its mesh 21 and its surface by filling. The expand metal 2 is welded on the surface of the metal plate 1 by forming wedge-shaped engagement part 4 in a space between each joint part 22 and the surface of the metal plate 1, a micro clearance 5 is formed in a space between each side 23 of the ecpand metal 2 and the surface of the metal plate 1, and the mesh 21 of the expand metal 2 continues via the micro clearance 5. The three of the metal plate 1, the expand metal 2, and the thermoplastic synthetic resin 3 are firmly joined together.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a thermoplastic synthetic resin sliding member for the purpose of improving wear resistance and load resistance has been known as a multi-layered material in which a thermoplastic synthetic resin is adhered as a thin layer to a metal backing. Sliding member having a constitution, for example, a sliding member formed by forming a porous sintered metal layer on a steel plate and impregnating and depositing a synthetic resin on the porous sintered metal layer (Japanese Patent Publication No. 31-2452), metal. A metal mesh is filled and covered with a synthetic resin, which is joined to the inner peripheral surface of the housing to form a sliding member (Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 484411), and an adhesive layer is formed on a steel plate. A sliding member or the like that is attached is known.

In such a multi-layer sliding member, even if it is a relatively soft synthetic resin, if it is applied as a thin layer on a backing metal such as steel, the resin itself will not bend or bend. Since no settling occurs, wear resistance and load resistance of the sliding member are improved as a result. Further, the frictional heat generated on the sliding surface is easily transmitted to the backing metal through the thin resin layer, and is radiated from the sliding member, so that the temperature rise can be suppressed low, and the above-described performance is further promoted. You. In addition, the resin is not likely to undergo expansion, contraction or aged deformation, so that the dimensional stability of the sliding member is significantly improved.

As a result of intensive research to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present inventors have focused on expanded metal as a reinforcing material and joined the expanded metal to a metal plate by a pressure welding method. Is welded to the metal plate by forming a wedge-shaped engaging portion between the metal plate at the joint portion, and each mesh of the expanded metal, between each side of the expanded metal and the metal plate. It is continuous through the formed minute gaps, and when the mesh and the surface of the expanded metal joined to the metal plate are filled with a synthetic resin, the synthetic resin is the mesh of the expanded metal and the expanded metal. The wedge-shaped engaging portion between the joint portion and the metal plate and the minute gaps between each side of the expanded metal and the metal plate are filled, and Coated on the surface of Ndometaru, resulting sure the strong bond of the tripartite metal plate and expanded metal and the synthetic resin is carried out, in which have reached the present invention. That is, an object of the present invention is to obtain a multi-layer sliding member which is excellent in sliding characteristics even when used under severe friction conditions and in which the resin sliding layer does not melt and flow on the sliding surface or peel off. In this way, the composite sheet comprising the metal plate 1, the expanded metal 2 bonded to the surface of the metal plate 1, the mesh 21 of the expanded metal 2 and the sliding layer 3 of the thermoplastic synthetic resin filled and coated on the surface. A layer sliding member is produced. In this multi-layer sliding member, the thermoplastic synthetic resin forming the sliding layer 3 has a wedge-shaped engaging portion 4 between each connecting portion 22 of the expanded metal 2 and the surface of the metal plate 1 and the expanded metal 2. Since it flows into the minute gaps 5 between each side 23 and the surface of the metal plate 1 and fills and covers the mesh 21 and the surface of the expanded metal 2, the mechanical coupling between the sliding layer 3 and the expanded metal 2 is high. In addition, peeling of the sliding layer 3 from the expanded metal 2 and melt flow do not occur.

The multi-layer sliding member of the present invention can be manufactured by other methods. The above-mentioned metal plate 1 having the expanded metal 2 integrally bonded to the surface is wound into a cylindrical shape with the expanded metal 2 inside to form a cylindrical base material, and the cylindrical base material is inserted into a cylindrical mold. . And
After inserting a core with a diameter smaller than the inner surface of the cylindrical base material, injection molding machine injection-molds the thermoplastic synthetic resin into the annular gap between the inner surface of the cylindrical base material and the core (outsert). Then, the slip layer 3 is formed. Then, the cylindrical base material on which the sliding layer 3 is formed is taken out from the cylindrical mold,
It is a method of obtaining a multilayer sliding member. In this method, the annular gap between the inner surface of the cylindrical base material and the core is the thickness of the sliding layer 3 of the thermoplastic synthetic resin formed on the surface of the expanded metal 2 of the cylindrical base material.

From the above test results, in the thrust test, the multilayer sliding members of Examples 1 to 3 exhibited stable performance with a low friction coefficient even under a high load condition of a cumulative load of 700 kgf / cm 2. , Cumulative load 700kg
The wear amount at f / cm 2 was 60 μm or less, which was an extremely low value. On the other hand, the multi-layer sliding member of Comparative Example 1 showed a low coefficient of friction as the cumulative load increased, but at the cumulative load of 500 kgf / cm 2 , wear occurred in the slide layer,
The friction coefficient with the porous sintered layer was changed to friction, so that the friction coefficient was rapidly increased (see FIG. 5). Further, the multi-layer sliding member of Comparative Example 2 showed a low friction coefficient as the cumulative load increased, but peeling occurred between the slide layer and the back metal at the time of the cumulative load of 400 kgf / cm 2. , The test was stopped. The friction coefficient in the table is the cumulative load 100-300
The value at the time of kgf / cm 2 was shown, and the wear amount could not be measured.

Further, in the journal rocking test, the multilayer sliding members of Examples 4 to 5 exhibited stable performance with a low friction coefficient even under an extremely severe load condition of 750 kgf / cm 2 , and also in the amount of wear. Similar to the thrust test, it showed an extremely low value of 20 μm or less. On the other hand, in the sliding member of Comparative Example 3, the sliding layer was worn from around 15,000 cycles, and the friction coefficient with the porous sintered layer was transferred to the sliding member as in the thrust test. Was given. Further, in Comparative Example 4, peeling occurred between the sliding layer and the back metal, so the test was stopped. The friction coefficient in the table shows the value immediately after the start of the test, and the amount of wear could not be measured.

As described above, according to the multi-layer sliding member of the present invention, the expanded metal forms the wedge-shaped engaging portion with the surface of the metal plate at each joint, and The mesh of the expanded metal that is welded to the surface of the metal plate is continuous through the minute gaps formed between each side of the expanded metal and the surface of the metal plate, and the synthetic resin is the expanded metal. The mesh, the wedge-shaped engaging portion between each joint of the expanded metal and the metal plate and the minute gap between each side and the metal plate, and the surface of the expanded metal is covered with the metal plate. Since the three members, that is, expanded metal and synthetic resin, are firmly bonded, the peel strength against the metal plate is increased, and even under severe load conditions, peeling of the sliding layer from expanded metal, melt flow, etc. Without causing, it exhibits excellent sliding characteristics.
