2. Description of the Related Art A bind-off processing method is known as a loosening-prevention processing for a knitted fabric end portion of a knit product such as a sweater. As a method of performing this bind-off processing by a flat knitting machine, for example, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2-91254 of the present applicant, the stitch course at the end of knitting is directed from one end to the other end of the knitted fabric. While forming the stitches, the formed stitches are superposed on the adjacent stitches and released sequentially from the knitting needle. When the bind-off process is sequentially performed from one end of the knitted fabric toward the other end and the knitting needle is released, downward tension is applied to the knitted fabric due to the weight of the knitted fabric and the action of the knitting fabric lowering device. As the number of stitches held by the knitting needles decreases, the tension applied to the stitches held by the needles gradually increases, so that the tension of the stitches is increased even if stitches are formed under the same loop length (or stitch value). The stitch formed by the influence is stretched. As a result, the sizes of the stitches forming the chain stitch at the bind-off location become asymmetric, so the knitted fabric obtained by such a method has been a cause of reducing the commercial value of the product.

Therefore, in order to deal with the above-mentioned problems, the present applicant has previously proposed the method disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-133561. In this method, the hanging knitting yarn is laid over the knitting needles of the needle bed that locks the stitches to be subjected to the bind-off processing and the empty needles of the needle bed on the opposite side. In this state, the stitches are sequentially turned off from one end of the knitted fabric to the other end in a state where the lower knitting yarn is laid over. According to this method, the bind-off stitches are released from the needles, but the hanging knitting yarn locked to the knitting needles of the other needle bed is bind-off processed and holds the stitches released from the knitting needles. It is possible to prevent the downward tension on the knitted fabric from gradually increasing with the progress of the eye treatment, and to make the stitches subjected to the bind-off treatment uniform.

However, in this method, it is a necessary condition that a large number of empty needles for hanging the knitting yarn for suspension be present in a predetermined section on the needle bed in the section where the bind-off processing is performed,
For example, when the stitches are locked on all the knitting needles of the front and rear needle beds in a predetermined section and the empty needles cannot be secured, the above method cannot be carried out. Further, with this method, it is necessary to remove the hanging knitting yarn from the knitted fabric after knitting, or to prepare when using a drawn yarn or a water-soluble yarn as the hanging knitting yarn. .

According to the present invention, the knitted fabric on the starting side to be bind-off processed when the bind-off processing is sequentially performed is locked on the needle bed, and the knitted fabric is sequentially held in the locked state. Knitting of the bind-off process is performed. In this case, the knitted fabric is locked on the needle bed by supplying a knitting yarn to one or a few empty needles located on the starting point side of the bind-off process and hooking the knitted fabric, or by fixing the stitches located on the starting point side. It is carried out by dividing it over the empty needles on the needle bed and hanging it over, or by another method that exerts the same effect. Since only the knitted fabric on the starting side of the bind-off processing is held on the needle bed, it can be carried out if there is at least one empty needle. Since the knitted fabric on the starting side is held on the needle bed while the stitches in the section are sequentially subjected to the bind-off process, even if the stitches are released from the needle with the progress of the bind-off process, Since the knitted fabric is hung on the needle bed by the needles that lock the stitches that have not yet been subjected to the stitch treatment, it is not affected by the weight of the knitted fabric due to the progress of the bind-off stitches. Become. Then, after the bind-off knitting is completed, the knitting fabric on the starting side is released from the needle bed to end the knitting.

First, in block 1, the knitting yarn is supplied by the yarn feeding member 8 to the needles b, c, d, ..., S, t of the front needle bed to knit the knitted fabric course 3, and then in the subsequent block 2, The knitting yarn is supplied to the needles t, s, ..., D, c, b, and knitting of the stitch course of the final course 4 of the knitted fabric is performed. Next, from block 3 to block 8, for each stitch of the final course of the knitted fabric 1 held by the needles b, c, ... It shows where the knitting of the eye process is performed. Stitch 4 locked to needle b in block 3
An empty needle on the front needle bed on the needle bed when performing the bind off treatment of b
After the knitting yarn is hooked, the knitting yarn is supplied to the needle b to form the stitch 5b. The part where the knitting yarn is hooked is 6
Indicated by Subsequently, the stitch 5b formed on the needle b is transferred to the opposing needle on the rear needle bed, and the yarn supplying member is moved to the left beyond the needle b. Then, the stitch 5b moved to the rear needle bed is transferred to the needle c of the front needle bed again and overlapped with the stitch 4c locked by the needle c. As a result, the bind off process of the stitch 4b held by the needle b is completed. Next, the knitting yarn is supplied to the needle c to form the stitch 5c in order to perform the bind-off processing of the stitches 4c and 5b locked to the needle c in the block 4, and then the stitch 5c formed on the needle c.
To the opposite needle on the rear needle bed. Then, after moving the yarn supplying member to the left beyond the needle c, the stitch 5 moved to the rear needle bed
Transfer c to needle d on the front needle bed. After the block 5, the stitch 4 which is retained by the needles d to s that remain the knitting of the block 4
The bind-off processing is applied to the stitches 4 of the final course of the knitted fabric 1 by sequentially performing d.
8). The knitting yarn 6 hooked by the empty needle a is kept held by the needle a even while the bind-off processing is applied to each stitch. Therefore, as shown in the figure, the needle a holds the starting side of the knitted fabric to be bind-off processed, and even if the stitches 4 of the final course are sequentially released from the needle as the bind-off processing progresses. The knitted fabric 1 is hung on the needle bed by a needle that locks the stitches that have not been subjected to the bind-off processing with a. Since the knitted fabric 1 is hung on both sides in the knitting width direction, it is possible to suppress the influence of the knitted fabric 1 on its own weight and the like due to the progress of the bind-off. When the flat knitting machine is equipped with a pulling device having a pair of front and rear rotatable rolls that can be opened and closed, the flat knitting machine is configured to close the rolls to sandwich the knitted fabric and to stop the rotation of the rolls. Is more preferably controlled.

As another action, since the starting point side of the bind-off processing is positioned at the fixed portion (needle a) on the needle bed, the stitches (chain stitches formed during the bind-off processing are used as a reference. 5) is formed. The dimensions such as the knitting width and the knitting length of the knitted fabric are actually shorter than the dimensions specified by the needles on the needle bed, and the knitted fabric contracts when released from the needles of the knitting machine. However, since the starting point side is fixed during the bind-off processing, an appropriate tension is applied during the formation of the stitches, so that the chain stitch 5 at the bind-off location can obtain at least a predetermined length. When the bind-off yarn is subjected to the bind-off treatment by the conventional method, the adverse effect due to the weight of the knitted fabric due to the progress of the bind-off treatment can be prevented. In order to prevent the pulling action of the knitting machine from being exerted even on the stitches formed on, the tension in the pulling down direction is not applied during stitch formation and the stitch degree is blocked, and the length of the chain stitch at the bind-off point is reduced. Although there was a problem of shortening, the bind-off processing method of the present invention has an advantage of eliminating it.

When the bind-off process is applied to the stitch 4s that is locked to the needle s in the block 8, the knitted fabric 1 is locked only by the needles a and t on the needle bed. Next, in blocks 9 and 10, the knitting yarn is supplied twice to the needle t to form a stitch, and then in the subsequent block 11, the needle a and the needle t are moved forward and backward without hooking the knitting yarn, and hooked by the needle a. The knitting yarn 6 and the stitches held by the needle t are released from the needle, and the knitted fabric 1 is removed from the needle bed to complete the knitting of the knitted fabric.

<Modification> A modification will be described below. In the above-described embodiment, the knitting yarn is hooked on the empty needle, but here, the stitches of the final course locked by the needles of the knitted fabric are divided into the needles of the front and rear needle beds, and the divided stitches are This is an example in which the bind-off processing is performed continuously on the other stitch of the divided stitches while one of the stitches is locked. As a method of dividing the stitches, for example, a so-called widening technique called transfer knitting, split knitting or the like is used. In the case of a spatula needle, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 62-52063, the needle holding the stitch with the widening stitch is advanced to the position for transferring the stitch, and the needle on the other needle bed is moved to the position for receiving the stitch. At the same time when the stitch is advanced, the knitting yarn is supplied only to the needle that has advanced to the position where the stitch is transferred to form the stitch. As a result, the stitches are hung over the needles of the front and rear needle beds to be divided, and subsequent stitches are formed. Further, in the case of the compound needle, the forward / backward movement of the slider is controlled at the time of transferring the stitch without feeding the yarn by the method described above or as disclosed in JP-A-3-279448. There is a way to hang it on the needle.

FIG. 3 shows a knitting block in which a stitch is divided by a compound needle disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 3-279448. The description is omitted because it is the same as that in FIG. 1 except for blocks 3, 4 and 11 in FIG. After the knitting of the final course, in the block 3a, when the bind-off processing is started, the stitches of the final course locked by the needles b of the front needle bed are also laid over the needles b of the opposite rear needle bed to divide the stitches.
Next, in block 3b, a knitting yarn is supplied to the needle b on the front needle bed to form a chain stitch following the stitches on the final course, and then the formed stitch is moved to the needle c on the opposite rear needle bed. After that, the stitches are moved to the needle c on the front needle bed and overlapped on the stitch to which the needle c is locked. The bind-off processing is performed on the blocks 4 to 10 by the same method as in FIG. And after finishing the bind-off process,
The stitches locked by the needle b of the rear needle bed and the needle t of the front needle bed that lock one of the stitches divided in the block 11 are removed from the needle. Although the stitches of the final course are divided into the blocks 3a, instead of this, the chain stitch formed during the bind-off processing, for example, the stitches formed in the block 3b may be divided. After finishing the bind-off, when one of the divided stitches held by the needle on the needle bed is released from the needle, the same loop structure as in the case of FIG. 1 is obtained. However, there is a merit that the looseness of the knitting yarn is less likely to occur at the location as compared with the method in which the knitting yarn is hooked because the stitches are divided and the starting end side of the bind-off is held by the divided stitch.

FIG. 4 shows another modification. This is applicable when there are a plurality of knitting yarns used for knitting the knitted fabric, and in order to lock the knitting fabric on the needle bed as in the above-described embodiment, the knitting yarn is used on the empty needle on the needle bed. In place of the method of hooking or knitting the stitches in a divided manner, the knitting yarn forming the knitting fabric on the empty needle of the needle bed located on the starting side of the knitting yarn in the unused state among the plural knitting yarns It is an example in which the knitted fabric is locked on the needle bed by hooking so as to be entangled with. Knitted fabric 1
After performing the stitch course 14 of the final course of 0 while moving the yarn supplying member 17 to the left, the yarn supplying member 18 of the unused knitting yarn is moved to the right and knitted on the needles w, x, y. The yarn is hooked, and then the knitting yarns of the yarn supplying members 17 and 18 are entangled with each other by starting the bind-off knitting by the yarn supplying member 17.

Although the bind-off processing method of the present invention has been described with reference to an example of a piece of knitted fabric having a plain knitting structure which is relatively easy to understand, the knitting structure of the knitting fabric is not limited to the plain knitting structure such as rubber knitting. The knitted fabric to be knitted may be a tubular knitted fabric having a two-layer structure in cross section. Further, the bind-off processing is performed while the knitted fabrics of the front body and the back body are locked to the needles of the front and rear beds, for example, by binding the knitted fabrics, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 2-91254 and 4-209855. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-316958
Needless to say, the present invention can be applied to various bind-off knitting including Japanese Patent Publication. Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, the single empty needle a of the front needle bed located outside the knitting width of the knitted fabric is used immediately before the start of the knitting in the bind-off process, but the present invention is not limited thereto. It can be appropriately changed as long as it is an embodiment that holds the starting side of the knitted fabric to be bind-off processed and exhibits the same effect as the present invention. Therefore, as an empty needle for holding the starting point side of the bind-off process, either the needle inside or outside the knitting width or the needle bed of the front and rear needles, or the needle whose stitch is released during the bind-off process is used. May be. Further, when there are many stitches to be bind-off processed in the section, if the section is divided into several sections and the knitted fabric on the starting point side is held in each section, the yarn with low tensile strength and easy breakage can be obtained. It is convenient in case. In this case, the knitting yarns and stitches held on the needle bed are dropped at once after the bind off processing is completed. In addition, the starting side of the bind-off processing is held on the needle bed after the bind-off processing is started several times after the bind-off processing is started as long as it is within the range not affected by the weight of the knitted fabric. Alternatively, the knitting may be performed at the time of knitting the final course of the knitted fabric before the start of the bind-off processing or a few courses before that. When it is performed before the bind-off process is started, it is possible to use a knitting yarn different from the knitting yarn used for the bind-off process.
