Photographic films such as (a) silver halide photographic films and (b) diazo photographic films are mainly used. But,
In the case of the photographic films (a) and (b), the image formation is performed optically, and the steps of exposure and development, and, if necessary, fixing are required for each material, although slightly different depending on the material. By the way, in recent years, there is an increasing demand for making a hard copy directly from an electric signal such as an image on a CRT and using the hard copy. In response to these requirements, a heat transfer sheet provided with a sublimable disperse dye layer having the property of being transferred by heating is used in combination with a heat transfer sheet, and the sublimable disperse dye is transferred onto the heat transfer sheet while controlling. A method for obtaining an image such as a photograph with gradation has been proposed. This method is an application of a method used as a method for dyeing a heat transfer sheet made of polyester fiber using a heat transfer sheet. A thermal head is used as a typical heating means for hard copy, but heating by the thermal head is usually extremely short. As an example, the transfer condition to the polyester fiber is 20
The printing condition of the thermal head is 400 ° C. and several msec, although the temperature is 0 ° C. for about 1 minute. For this reason, it has been impossible to transfer to a polyester fiber by using a conventional combination of a thermal transfer sheet and polyester fiber and using a thermal head, and it was also impossible to create a transparent original.

である。(Substrate) The substrate 2 has a role of holding the receptive layer 3, and since heat is applied at the time of thermal transfer, it has a mechanical strength that does not hinder handling even in a heated state. Moreover, it is desirable to have transparency. Specific examples of such a transparent substrate 2 include polyethylene film, polypropylene film, polyvinyl chloride film, polyvinylidene chloride film, polyvinyl alcohol film, polyethylene terephthalate film, polycarbonate film, nylon film, polystyrene film, and ethylene vinyl acetate. Among plastic films such as polymer films, ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer films, and ionomers, transparent or translucent ones (which may be colored transparent or colored translucent) can be used. Mechanical devices prevent breakage during handling. When importance is placed on properties and heat resistance, polyethylene terephthalate film, polycarbonate film and nylon film are preferred, and polyethylene terephthalate film is particularly preferred. It has been. The thickness of the substrate 2 is usually 3 to 50 μm, preferably about 5 to 15 μm.

As such a release agent, solid waxes, fluorine-based or phosphate-based surfactants, silicone oils, and the like are used. These compounds are added in advance to the resin forming the receiving layer, and the obtained resin mixture solution is applied to a substrate and dried to obtain the receiving layer. Each releasing agent will be specifically described below.

Amide wax, Teflon powder and the like are used.
This solid wax is contained in the resin in an amount of 5 to 5 times the weight of the resin.
It is added in an amount of 0% by weight, preferably 10-20% by weight. If the amount is less than 5% by weight, a sufficient releasing effect cannot be obtained, and the thermal transfer layer may be thermally bonded to the receptor layer.
On the other hand, if the amount exceeds 50% by weight, dyes transferred from the thermal transfer layer during heating cannot be sufficiently received.
Therefore, there are cases where the obtained image does not have sufficient resolution.

It is considered that a part of the surfactant added to the resin appears on the surface of the receiving layer, so that a releasing effect can be obtained. The surfactant is added to the resin in an amount of 0.5 to 10% by weight based on the weight of the resin. If the amount is less than 0.5% by weight, a sufficient releasing effect cannot be obtained. If the addition amount exceeds 10% by weight, the surface of the receiving layer becomes sticky and dust easily adheres to the surface, and when the transfer layer and the receiving layer come into contact with each other, the transfer layer can be heated without heating. Examples of the curable silicone oil include a reaction curable type, a photocurable type, and a catalyst curable type. Of these, reaction-curable silicone oils are particularly preferred. When such a curable silicone oil is used as a release agent, the surface of the receiving layer becomes sticky or dust adheres, compared to the case of the surfactant-based release agent described above. And therefore can be used in large quantities. Curable silicone oils can be added to the resin in an amount of 0.5 to 30% by weight based on the weight of the resin.
If the addition amount is less than 0.5% by weight, a sufficient releasing effect cannot be obtained, and the thermal transfer layer may be thermally bonded to the receiving layer.
On the other hand, if the amount exceeds 30% by weight, the dye transferred from the thermal transfer layer at the time of heating cannot be sufficiently received, and the resulting image may not have a sufficient recording density.

Silicon dioxide or a substance containing silicon dioxide as a main component. The finely divided silica to be contained in the receiving layer has an average particle diameter of 10 to 100 mμ and a specific surface area of less than 250 m 2 / g, and more preferably has an average particle diameter of 10 to 50 mμ and a specific surface area of 20 to 200 m 2 / g. Is used. When the average particle diameter of the finely divided silica is larger than this range, the dispersion stability of the finely divided silica in the coating composition for the heat transfer layer used for forming the receiving layer is reduced, and the smoothness of the surface of the receiving layer of the heat transfer sheet is reduced. This is significantly impaired, and the image obtained by thermal transfer becomes unclear. When the average particle diameter of the finely divided silica is smaller than this range, the fluidity of the coating composition for the heat transfer layer used for forming the receiving layer is reduced, and the effect of adding the fine powder silica to the heat transfer sheet is sufficiently exhibited. Not done. A specific example of the fine powder silica that satisfies the above conditions is A

Generally, the glass transition temperature is -100.
It can be said that a resin having a temperature of 20 ° C to 20 ° C generally has a low dyeing ability, and a resin having a glass transition temperature of 40 ° C or higher generally has a high dyeing ability. In the present invention, the term “dispersion liquid” includes both a liquid-liquid dispersion system (emulsion) and a liquid-solid dispersion system (suspension).

A typical thermal transfer sheet 5 is
As shown in FIG. 4, a thermal transfer layer 7 is provided on one surface of the support 6, and when the thermal transfer layer 7 is heated, the coloring material contained therein is transferred onto the thermal transfer sheet. It is supposed to do. Examples of such coloring materials include disperse dyes having a relatively small molecular weight of about 150 to 400, oil dyes, certain basic dyes, and intermediates that can be converted into these dyes. The heat transfer temperature, the heat transfer efficiency, the hue, the color rendering, the weather resistance, etc. are selected and used from the inside.

By transferring with a thermal head or the like, it can be used in an overhead projector, a slide projector or the like, or can be used as a positive or negative for diazo copy or photoengraving. Further, since the slippery layer 8 is provided on the side of the support on which the thermal transfer layer is not provided, it is possible to prevent fusion between the heating means such as a thermal head and the support and to improve the slip.
