By the way, FIG. 13 shows
The coated plate B coated with the coating liquid C by the coating roller 103 is shown as an example. (A) is a plan view and (b) is a sectional view. When the length dimension is shorter than the lateral width of the coated plate B, when the coated plate B passes between the pair of coating rollers 103, the side of the coating roller 103 at the boundary portion between the coated portion B1 and the non-coated portion B2. The coating liquid C is extruded from the end portion to the non-coating portion B2, and a liquid pool B3 bulging like a belt is formed there.

Specifically, a predetermined number of the coated plates B derived from the pretreatment process P1 (FIG. 1) are first sequentially loaded into the storage slits 63 of the rack 6. Then, the rack 6 loaded with the plate B to be coated is placed at an appropriate position on the upstream side of the driving conveyor belt 23. The conveyor belt 23 is driven until the rack position sensor 73 detects the presence of the rack 6, and when the rack position sensor 73 detects the presence of the rack 6, the control device 7 sends a drive stop control signal to the belt drive motor 24. Is output, which stops the conveyor belt 23.
At the time of this stop, the top storage slit 6 of the rack 6

In this state, the light emitting terminal 72a emits light in response to a control signal from the control device 7, and the coated plate B is placed in the first storage slit 63 depending on whether the light receiving terminal 72b receives the light from the light emitting terminal 72a. It is detected whether or not it is stored.

When the light receiving terminal 72b does not receive light, that is, when the coated plate B is not stored in the leading storage slit 63, the conveyor belt 23 is advanced by the control signal from the controller 7 and the next storage slit. The presence or absence of the coated plate B of 63 is determined, and the conveyor belt 23 is repeatedly advanced by one pitch until the storage slit 63 in which the coated plate B is present reaches the fixed position X in the front-rear direction.

Then, in the state where the plate B to be coated is present at the fixed position X in the front-rear direction, the width direction position sensor 71 projects in the direction of the plate B to be coated, and the plate B to be coated in the width direction moves. Detect the position. This detection signal is input to the control device 7, and it is determined whether or not the position in the width direction is normal. If the coated plate B is displaced to the right (see (B) in FIG. 10), the control is performed. A control signal for moving the conveyor lateral movement mechanism 3 to the left is output from the device 7 to the conveyor lateral movement motor 31. This causes the conveyor lateral movement mechanism 3 to move to the left. Then, the control device 7
The state in which the plate B to be coated has reached the normal position in the width direction (the state (a) in FIG. 10) is determined by the detection signal from the width direction position sensor 71, and the control signal for stopping the drive is given to the conveyor lateral movement motor 31. Output. As a result, the position of the top of the coated plate B in the width direction is normally set.

On the contrary, when the plate B to be coated is displaced to the left (see (c) of FIG. 10), it is detected by the width direction position sensor 71, and the control signal from the controller 7 is generated by this. When the plate B to be coated is in the state of being positioned at the normal position in the width direction by the lateral movement of the conveyor lateral movement mechanism 3 (see (a) in FIG. 10), first, the roller is driven by the control signal from the controller 7. The motor 54 is driven, whereby the pair of coating rollers 52 rotate in opposite directions, and the plate B to be coated is ready to be received. After that, a control signal is output from the control device 7 to the push-up member 42 to push the coated plate B upward, and further, a control signal for driving the blower pump 57 is output. The coating roller 52 may be constantly rotating during the operation of the roll coater 1.

While the plate B to be coated is raised by the rotation of the pair of coating rollers 52,
Since the air sent from the blower pump 57 is blown toward the coating portion B1 of the plate B to be coated from the jet nozzle 58, the coating portion B is coated with the coating liquid C protruding from the side end portion of the coating roller 52.
1 and the non-coating portion B2 are blown toward the coating portion B1 in a liquid pool, which causes a band-shaped expansion of the coating liquid C, which has been conventionally formed on the coated plate B to be coated. No protrusions are formed, and the thickness of the coating layer is uniform.

When the push-up member 42 is lowered, the conveyor belt 2 is controlled by a control signal from the control device 7.
3 moves and the next storage slit 63 of the rack 6 reaches the fixed position X in the front-rear direction. At this time, the control device 7 determines whether or not the next coated plate B is present in the storage slit 63 based on the detection signal from the plate presence / absence sensor 72. The storage slit 63 is fixed in the front-rear direction X
The conveyor belt 23 is moved until it reaches. As a result, when the storage slit 63 has a space, that portion is skipped and the conveyor belt 23 moves around,
The driving of the belt drive motor 24 is stopped while the next coated plate B is set at the fixed position X in the front-rear direction.

After that, the control device 7 outputs the same control signal as in the case of the first plate B to be coated, whereby the plate B to be coated is subjected to a predetermined coating treatment, and thereafter the same control device 7 is performed. The coating process is sequentially performed on the coated plate B loaded in the rack 6 by the drive control according to.

When all of the coatings have been coated, the conveyor belt 23 is driven until the rack position sensor 73 detects that the next rack 6 has reached the fixed position, and the rack 6 is targeted from the time when the next rack 6 reaches the fixed position. The same drive control as described above is performed.

As described in detail above, the roll coater 1 of the present invention loads a plurality of coated plates B on a rack 6 in a vertical posture, intermittently moves the rack 6 by a conveyor belt 23, and then stops. Each time, the coated plate B located under the pair of coating rollers 52 is pushed up by the push-up mechanism 4 and supplied between the pair of coating rollers 52, thereby forming the coating portion B1 on the front and back sides of the coated plate B. Therefore, unlike the prior art (FIG. 12), it is not necessary to provide the direction changing mechanism 102 having a complicated structure and high equipment cost, which is effective in reducing the equipment cost.

Further, the roll coater 1 is provided with a conveyor lateral movement mechanism 3, which moves the conveyor mechanism 2 as a whole in the width direction of the coated plate B loaded in the rack 6. Since the misalignment is corrected, the direction changing mechanism 102 is used as in the conventional case.
It is not necessary to provide the centering mechanism 101 for positioning the plate B to be coated on the upstream side, and the roll coater 1 of the present invention can also contribute to the reduction of equipment cost in this respect.

Further, in the roll coater 1 of the present invention, the rack 6 loaded with the plate B to be coated is laterally moved to position the target plate B to be coated. By operating the coated plates B one by one, the inconvenience that the coated plates B are scratched or soiled is unlikely to occur, which is also convenient in terms of reducing defective products.

According to the first aspect of the present invention,
Since the roll coater has a gas injection nozzle that blows gas from the outside of the side surface of each roller at the position where each coating roller meets by rotation, for example, the width of the coated plate is larger than the length of the coating roller. It is long, so that when the plate to be coated passes between a pair of coating rollers, gas is jetted from the gas jet nozzle even if the side of the plate to be coated is protruding from the side edge of the coating roller. This is advantageous because the coating liquid is extruded from the coated portion of the coated plate B to the non-coated portion to prevent formation of a liquid pool formed.

According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the gas injection nozzle has the vertically long injection port, the gas is widely sprayed from the vertically long injection port. Therefore, the effect of preventing the formation of the liquid separation pool is improved.
