Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.プログラム可能な電気通信スイッチを動作させる方法であって、前記スイッ チが、ホスト装置によって生成されるメッセージに応答して、複数のチャネルの 様々なスイッチ間の通信パスを動的に接続または切断するための制御可能なスイ ッチング手段を含み、前記方法が、 着信または出力コールを処理する1つ以上の通信プロトコルを定義するステッ プであって、前記通信プロトコルのそれぞれが有限状態マシンで表現される、前 記ステップ、 最初に、少なくとも1つの前記プロトコルを前記チャネルのそれぞれに割当て 、それによって、様々なプロトコルが様々なチャネルに割当てられうるステップ 、及び 前記チャネルの1つで、着信コールを検出するかまたは、出力コールを開始す る際に、現在前記チャネルの前記1つに割当てられているプロトコルが、前記着 信コールまたは出力コールを処理することができるかどうかを判定し、前記割当 てられているプロトコルが前記着信コールまたは出力コールを処理することがで きない場合、前記割当てられているプロトコルが前記着信コールまたは出力コー ルを処理することができる、別の前記プロトコルを動的に選択し、前記選択され たプロトコルを使用して前記着信コールまたは出力コールを処理するステップを 含むことを特徴とする、前記方法。 2.前記有限状態マシンのそれぞれが、プリミティブ・テーブルに 関連した状態/イベント・テーブルによって表され、前記状態/イベント・テーブ ルが複数の所定の論理状態と、こうした状態に関連づけられた、少なくとも1つ の所定のイベントを定義し、前記プリミティブ・テーブルが、1つ以上のプリミ ティブを定義し、そのそれぞれが所定の順をなす所定の機能を含み、それによっ て、前記所定のイベントの1つが発生した場合に、発生したイベントに関連づけ られた所定のプリミティブが呼び出されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の 方法。 3.前記チャネルのそれぞれが、現在の論理状態と対応するチャネルの状態のタ イプを表す情報、活動中の状態/イベント・テーブルへのポインタ、活動中のプ リミティブ・テーブルに対するポインタ、割当てられた状態/イベント・テーブ ルへのポインタ、及び割当てられたプリミティブ・テーブルに対するポインタを 含む、対応するデータ・ブロックに割当てられることを特徴とする、請求項2に 記載の方法。 4.前記有限状態マシンが、前記所定の機能の定義を含む前記ポインタとライブ ラリに応答して動作する、状態マシン・エンジンによって解釈されることを特徴 とする、請求項3に記載の方法。 5.前記プロトコルのうち1つ以上が、前記電気通信スイッチ内の記憶域に関し て、ユーザに定義され、またはダウンロードされるものであることを特徴とする 、請求項1に記載の方法。 6.前記プロトコルのうち1つ以上が、前記電気通信スイッチ内に常駐すること を特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。 7.プログラム可能な電気通信スイッチで使用されるように通信プロトコルを開 発するための方法であって、前記スイッチが、ホスト装置によって生成されるメ ッセージに応答して、複数のチャネルの様々なスイッチの間の通信パスを、動的 に接続または切断するための制御可能なスイッチング手段を含み、前記方法が、 1つ以上の状態/イベント・テーブルを作成するステップであって、そのテー ブルのそれぞれが、複数の所定の論理状態、各論理状態に関連づけられた、少な くとも1つの所定のイベント、及び関連するイベントの発生に際して呼び出され る前記各イベントに関連づけられた、1つのプリミティブを定義する、前記ステ ップ、 1つ以上のプリミティブ・テーブルを作成するステップであって、そのテーブ ルのそれぞれが、それぞれの前記プリミティブ毎に、所定の順の所定の機能を定 義する、前記ステップ、 1つ以上の通信プロトコルを作成するステップであって、そのプロトコルのそ れぞれが前記状態/イベント・テーブルの1つ、及び前記プリミティブ・テーブ ルの1つの所定の組み合わせによって表現される、前記ステップ、 前記通信プロトコルの1つ以上を、前記プログラム可能な電気通信スイッチ内 に記憶するステップ、及び 少なくとも1つの前記通信プロトコルを、前記チャネルのそれぞれに割当てる ステップを含むことを特徴とする、前記方法。 8.前記チャネルにおいて、着信コールの検出または出力コールの起動が行われ る際に、その通信プロトコルが現在、前記着信コール または出力コールを処理できる前記チャネルの前記1つに割当てられているかど うか判定し、現在割当てられている前記プロトコルが前記着信コールまたは出力 コールを処理できない場合、前記着信コールまたは出力コールを処理できる前記 プロトコルの別の1つを動的に選択することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方 法。 9.前記チャネルのそれぞれが、現在の論理状態と対応するチャネルの状態のタ イプを表す情報、活動中の状態/イベント・テーブルへのポインタ、活動中のプ リミティブ・テーブルへのポインタ、割当てられた状態/イベント・テーブルへ のポインタ、及び割当てられたプリミティブ・テーブルへのポインタを含む、対 応するデータ・ブロックに割当てられることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方 法。 10.前記有限状態マシンが、前記所定の機能の定義を含む、前記ポインタとライ ブラリに応答して動作する状態マシン・エンジンによって解釈されることを特徴 とする、請求項9に記載の方法。 11.プログラム可能な電気通信スイッチが、 ホストによって生成されるメッセージに応答して、複数のチャネルの様々なス イッチの間の通信パスを、動的に接続または切断するための、前記チャネルに対 応する複数のタイム・スロットをスイッチングするためのタイム・スロット交換 を含む制御可能なスイッチング手段と、前記メッセージを処理するための手段、 前記チャネルを表すアナログまたはディジタル線、または幹線のいずれかを終 了させるための前記スイッチング手段と関連して通信するように接続された、1 つ以上の手段、 1つ以上の通信プロトコルを記憶する手段であって、前記チャネルのそれぞれ が、そのチャネルに割当てられた、前記通信プロトコルの1つを有する、前記手 段、 前記チャネルのどれかで着信コールの検出または出力コールの起動を行い、前 記コールが発生したチャネルに割当てられたプロトコルが前記コールを処理する ことができるかどうかを判定する手段、及び 前記検出手段に応答して、前記割当てられたプロトコルがそうしたコールを処 理できなかった場合に、前記コールを処理可能な、ユーザが定義した前記常駐プ ロトコルの中から、代替プロトコルを動的に選択するための手段を含むことを特 徴とする、前記スイッチ。 12.前記プロトコルのそれぞれが、有限状態マシンによって表されることを特徴 とする、請求項11に記載のスイッチ。 13.前記有限状態マシンのそれぞれが、プリミティブ・テーブルに関連した状態 /イベント・テーブルによって定義され、前記状態/イベント・テーブルが、複数 の所定の論理状態と、そうした論理状態のそれぞれに関連づけられた、少なくと も1つの所定のイベントを定義し、前記プリミティブ・テーブルが、1つ以上の プリミティブを定義し、そのそれぞれが、所定の順の所定の機能を含み、それに よって、前記所定のイベントが発生した場合に、発生したイベントに関連づけら れた所定のプリミティブが呼び出されることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のス イッチ。
