- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.a)電極活物質を水、結合剤および表面活性剤と混合し、表面活性剤が水 の表面張力を減少させて電極活物質と結合剤を湿潤させるようになし; b)その混合物を混合処理してペーストを生成し; c)ペーストを所望の形状の電極に形成する; ことからなる電気化学電池に使用する電極を調製する方法。 2.ペーストを所望の形状の電極に形成する間に表面活性剤を除去する工程を 含む請求項1の方法。 3.表面活性剤がポリグリコールである請求項1の方法。 4.表面活性剤がポリオキシエチレン−ポリオキシプロピレンブロックコポリ マーである請求項1の方法。 5.表面活性剤が水の表面張力を少なくとも約67ダイン/cmまたはそれ以 下に減じる請求項1の方法。 6.表面活性剤が混合物中に約0.1重量%から約2.0重量%の量で存在す る請求項1の方法。 7.電極活物質が金属、金属酸化物、混合金属酸化物、金属硫化物および炭素 質物質、並びにこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれる請求項1の方法。 8.結合剤がフィブリル化可能なフルオロポリマーである請求項1の方法。 9.a)カソード活物質を水、結合剤および表面活性剤と混合し、表面活性剤 が水の表面張力を減少させてカソード活物質と結合剤を湿潤させるようになし; b)混合物を混合処理してペーストを生成し; c)表面活性剤をカソード活物質から除去し; d)得られたカソード活物質を展延手段で展延してカソード活物質を集電手段 の少なくとも片側上に固定してカソード積層体を形成する; ことからなる電気化学電池に使用するカソードを調製する方法。 10.カソード活物質を粉状に粉砕する工程を含み、次にこの粉を展延工程に 付する請求項9の方法。 11.展延工程がカソード活物質粉を中間の集電手段の両側に積層させたシー トに形成する請求項9の方法。 12.固定されたカソード活物質を加熱して結合剤を可塑化する工程を含む請 求項9の方法。 13.加熱工程がカソード構成要素を焼結するのに十分な温度で行われる請求 項12の方法。 14.固定されたカソード活物質の加熱工程が約565°Fから約615°F の間の温度範囲で行なわれる請求項12の方法。 15.表面活性剤がポリグリコールである請求項9の方法。 16.表面活性剤がポリオキシエチレン−ポリオキシプロピレンブロックコポ リマーである請求項9の方法。 17.表面活性剤が水の表面張力を少なくとも約67ダイン/cmまたはそれ 以下に減じる請求項9の方法。 18.表面活性剤が約0.1重量%から約2.0重量%の量で混合物中に存在 する請求項9の方法。 19.カソード活物質が金属、金属酸化物、混合金属酸化物、金属硫化物およ び炭素質物質、並びにこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれる請求項9の方法。 20.カソード活物質が酸化バナジウム銀、酸化バナジウム銀銅、二酸化マン ガン、酸化コバルト、酸化ニッケル、酸化銅、硫化鉄、二硫化鉄、酸化バナジウ ム銅、炭素およびフッ化炭素、並びにこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれる請 求項9の方法。 21.結合剤がフィブリル化可能なフルオロポリマーである請求項9の方法。 22.混合物を混合処理してペーストを形成する工程が液体電解質の添加を含 む請求項9の方法。 23.カソード積層体が約0.004インチから約0.25インチの間の範囲 の厚さを有する請求項11の方法。 24.水、結合剤および表面活性剤と混合された活物質としての電極活物質か らなり、表面活性剤が水の表面張力を減じて電極活物質と結合剤を湿潤させるこ とを特徴とする電気化学電池に使用する電極構成要素であって、混合物が電極活 物質からなるペーストを提供するのに役立つ混合手段にかけることができ、また 、ペーストが所望の形状を有する電極を提供する成形手段にかけることができる 電気化学電池に使用する電極構成要素。 25.表面活性剤がポリグリコールである請求項24の電極構成要素。 26.表面活性剤が約0.1重量%から約2.0重量%の間の量で混合物中に 存在する請求項24の電極構成要素。 27.表面活性剤が水の表面張力を少なくとも約67ダイン/cmまたはそれ 以下に減じる請求項24の電極構成要素。 28.電極活物質が金属、金属酸化物、混合金属酸化物、金属硫化物および炭 素質物質、並びにこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれる請求項24の電極構成 要素。 29.電極がカソード構成要素であり、活物質が酸化バナジウム銀、酸化バナ ジウム銀銅、二酸化マンガン、酸化コバルト、酸化ニッケル、酸化銅、硫化鉄、 二硫化鉄、酸化バナジウム銅、炭素およびフッ化炭素、並びにこれらの混合物か らなる群から選ばれる請求項24の電極構成要素。 30.形成された電極が、集電体手段と組み合わされた電極活物質からなる積 層体を含み、この積層体が約0.004インチから約0.25インチの間の範囲 の厚さを有する請求項24の電極構成要素。 31.請求項1の方法によって製造された電極構成要素を有する非水電気化学 電池。 32.請求項9の方法によって製造されたカソード構成要素を有する非水電気 化学電池。 33.請求項1の方法によって製造された電極構成要素。 34.請求項9の方法によって製造されたカソード構成要素。 35.請求項1の方法によって製造された製品。 36.請求項9の方法によって製造された製品。
